Efficient and concise dealings with the agent allowed fast progression of the agreement and friendly staff were on hand to support at all stages of the process. I was not inundated with unne cessary correspondence which has an enormously positive impact

Great service for a competitive fee

I'm a landlord and let my flat with Hello Neighbour 2 years ago. Was a great experience with a designated account manager helping me the whole way.
My tenants are now moving out and I contacted HN to arrange for the same service (Get Rented Pro) as last time.
I've been trying to get hold of someone to speak to since 30 June!!! But with no luck. I've tried direct numbers, email as well as the main switchboard number several times. I keep being promised a callback but get nothing.
I am now running out of time so going to have to look at other companies. So stupid as would have been easy money for HN. You've got photos, video, inventory ready from last time...

UPDATE: I finally got a response from HN and once comms are going, they're great. Just like last time around. A great service for a competitive fee.

It was a seamless journey from start to the end.
Josh went above and beyond for me with consistent open communication and reassurance making my experience truly mémorable.
I would definitely recommend Josh and Hello Neighbour in the future.

As a landlord

As a landlord, I’ve been very happy over the last couple of years with HN. Communication has always been clear and prompt, good tenants have been found quickly twice, and their monthly management fees are low.

Extremely rude and unprofessional

Richard Hodgson was extremely rude and unprofessional. I arrived for a viewing in Canary Wharf, and upon meeting him he got into his mobile complaining about the hello neighbour app. I had to wait like 5 minutes before he sorted whatever he was doing and got off the phone to finally show me the flat. He made comments about the Asian current tenants which bordered on racist (the flat was very smelly). I asked for info about the building and he had no idea. "Ask the concierge" was his reply. Even though I went by myself to see the flat he pushed me to tell him my partner's name. I told him that was private and didn't see why he needed their details unless we made an offer. He got all grumpy and ignored me from then on. I asked him "should I let my self out then?". He didn't even answer so I had to leave the flat and find my way out of the building on my own. If the agency hires people like this, then that reflects on their own poor standard of service and lack of professionalism. Beware if they manage your property.

Highly recommend Hello Neighbour for hassle free property management

I’ve been using Hello Neighbour for several years now to manage my flat and I couldn’t be happier with the service. They’ve consistently taken care of everything — from managing tenants and handling their concerns to organising repairs with their wide network of reliable professionals.

A special mention goes to Josh, who has been brilliant throughout. I can leave pretty much everything in his hands and he always delivers to a high standard, making sure the flat is well looked after and keeping me updated when needed. Even during tenant checkouts and tricky inventory issues, he’s right there to handle it all smoothly and fairly.

I’m 100% satisfied with the support I’ve received and would highly recommend Hello Neighbour to any landlord looking for hassle-free, professional property management. Thanks again to Josh and the team!

Outstanding service

I’ve had the pleasure of having our property managed by Josh Michels, and I can confidently say the service has been nothing short of outstanding. He’s consistently gone above and beyond to make sure we are informed and happy. He is always efficient, incredibly responsive, and clear in his communication, even when situations were far from easy.

What truly stands out is that he hasn’t lost his human touch and sense of calm, professionalism, and even humour into the most stressful moments, which makes all the difference. It’s rare to find someone who can navigate the logistics and pressures of property management while remaining approachable and genuinely kind.

From beginning to end, Hello Neighbour provided an outstanding service. Their team handled everything seamlessly, removing the stress and hassle from the process of finding a tenant. I didn’t have to lift a finger—they took full control and managed all the administrative tasks with efficiency and professionalism.

Lettings service was excellent

As a first time Landlord, I spent a lot of time researching letting and managing agents and came across Hello Neighbour and liked their transparent good value pricing model and modern portal for setting up the letting. I asked them lots of questions in the run up to engaging them and throughout the process and they were very helpful so always felt in the know (first Victoria and then Russell once engaged). They handled the viewings and found tenants quickly at asking price which was better than expected. They handled all compliance and other matters with no issues. Couldn’t have asked for it to go any smoother. So can highly recommend their letting service.

Now on their property management service which is early days but seems fine so far.

Absolutely the Worst Experience

Absolutely the Worst Experience

This has been the worst renting experience I have ever had, and I would strongly advise others to stay away from Hello Neighbour.

I paid a holding deposit, successfully completed all reference checks, and even signed the tenancy agreement from my side. Everything was set. Then, on the actual day I was supposed to move in, I received a call from the agency informing me that the landlord had decided to sell the property instead – and that he already had a buyer and agreement in place. This news came after I had already packed all my belongings and arranged and paid for removals.

There was no warning, no accountability, and no compensation offered for the money I lost as a result of their complete lack of professionalism. The agents were disorganised, showed no understanding of the impact this caused, and made no real effort to help. It was clear they had no control over or awareness of the landlord’s actions, which makes me seriously question their credibility and communication processes.

I wouldn’t wish this kind of experience on anyone. Hello Neighbour has shown me just how careless and unprofessional a lettings agency can be. I absolutely do not recommend them to anyone.

I am very sorry this has happened to you. As soon as we were notified of the landlord’s intention to sell, we immediately relayed that information to you.

Please understand that we are only compensated upon a successful move-in, so unfortunately we did not receive any payment, even though we incurred costs ourselves.

As the contract was not signed and no move-in monies were collected, there is unfortunately no legal recourse available in this situation.

We pride ourselves on fairness, and the team takes these situations very seriously.

We are genuinely disappointed by how this unfolded and fully empathise with the frustration and inconvenience it has caused.

Incorrect tenancy end date in agreement

I was initially impressed with Hello Neighbour until I noticed that the tenancy end date in the agreement was wrong and the tenants disputed this. To date Hello Neighbour have refused to acknowledge their mistake and are now no longer replying to emails.......I recall mentioning this when I checked the agreement, however they insisted that the end date was correct, when it was not. Very disappointed, as I was going to use them again this year and recommend them to others.
**UPDATE: I have also responded. If the tenancy end date was correct then the amount stated was incorrect - one of these is incorrect, they cannot both be right.
I have been told this is correct - however I am not sure I am convinced, but I do not have time to argue. I am not sure how you can have the date and amount not aligning and have to amend or give back 4 days payment at the end? If the tenant pays for 12 months plus 4 days then the agreement should state that. I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this.

I would like to thank Sam Allum and Hello Neighbour very much for the excellent service I received when it came to renewing my tenancy agreement with my existing clients. We agreed on a slight rent increase in line with the current rate of inflation that both landlord and tenant was happy with. Very efficient and professional service. Very pleased.
