Our consultant made an error in our flight bookings. She added the wrong flight date to the system when booking our final flight leg (Singapore to Brisbane). We observed this when reviewing the emailed itinerary and contacted her the follow day as the office had closed by 3pm in the day of booking. This situation took over a month to resolve with no responses to emails or phone messages seeking updates. Her lack of professionalism, poor customer service and appalling communication were extremely disappointing. We will not use this agency again and would not recommend it to others either.
Hello World Surrey Hills rocks!
We booked a trip to Africa with Kate from Hello World Surrey Hills for travel in June 2025. From start to finish everything was made easy for us and our trip was fantastic. We joined an Intrepid tour (small group of 12) which we also found great. Intrepid is an environmentally conscious company, attentive to culture and hires excellent local staff. A great experience all round.
Warning: Avoid This Company Due to Their History of Non-Payment
This company appears to have financial difficulties or simply refuses to pay their invoices, regardless of how much you remind them. They contacted my business for a job, and fortunately, the invoice was relatively low, as they have a notorious reputation for non-payment. I would strongly advise against dealing with this illegitimate business.

I regret to inform you that my stay at Helloworld Kolkata was highly disappointing. The staff's behavior was unacceptable, as they resorted to threats rather than providing assistance. Additionally, the atmosphere was extremely unsocial, making it an uncomfortable environment to stay in. Furthermore, the level of cleanliness was well below acceptable standards, indicating a severe lack of hygiene maintenance. Overall, my experience was far from satisfactory, and I would not recommend this home stay to anyone seeking a pleasant stay in Kolkata.

Hello World at Fountain Gate booked us in for a 7 night cruise to Hobart leaving on 29th Dec 2023.
We went to finalise our booking to find that there was no cruise until 2024. The travel consultant was apologetic for her mistake, but wasn’t prepared to give us anything for our heart ache, disappointment and mental anguish.
We were ready to leave the next day, and to celebrate an end to a stressful year😢😢😢😡😡😡😡 Everything that we had put in place for the week away had to be cancelled
Very disappointed and all they could do for us was say sorry. Our plans for NYE were spoiled.

Whenever I had a query about my bookings at helloworld surrey Hills in Melbourne they would promise to get back to me but never would. When my tickets were finally delivered they couldn’t even get my name correct on one of them. Just another reason to avoid travel agents and do the bookings yourself

booked a 4 day cruise from Brisbane to Sydney for end of 28th April- 1st May 2023. Cancelled 12 dec 2022. I paid 195.00 travel insurance with Covermore of which they only ducted $50.00. But Helloword travelworld stitched me up for $143.00 which left me with $7.00. How on earth can they justify that. Talk about snouts in the trough. That is just blatant greed

Hello World Casey Central - One star is already too much for the drama and frustration that rubbish Heather Bowler and Sue Cousin caused!
This is our first time using a travel agent, it is also the last time!
Four of us (two adults and two children 5+6 yrs old) were about to enjoy the holiday in Singapore this March, but unfortunately, the experience since October 2022 was far from what we expected. Sue booked the tickets for us last Oct. The issues were unbelievable:
1. my name was booked incorrectly four times, although I provided my passport. Either my surname didn’t appear on the e-ticket or the names were other way around in the booking.
I called Singapore Airlines since Oct, Nov 2022, Jan and Feb 2023 called again. They said the agent should have fixed it. Sue sent me an email several times saying it was all fixed. (What a joke! I shouldnt trust her!)
Nothing was done until one hour before boarding! On the departure day, the airline wouldn't let me go until this name fixed! My husband called Hello World, as usual Heather Bowler picked up the phone and yelled, "We did! We fixed! It's not fault! Blah blah blah..." WE KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE DONE! (The airline showed us your booking call history)
2. My children’s fares were all booked as adults and charged us over AUD600 extra.
I understand that my older one 6 yrs old was in the process of passport renewal last October when Sue and Heather booked the tickets but still should ring the bell if someone booked the kids as adults! (Again, this Heather's 30 years of working experience means full of rubbish).
3. The return flight was booked for the one operated by Scoot. My husband specifically asked and emphasised Singapore Airlines, NOT operated by Scoot. SQ 3 digits not 4 digits! Still, these women didn't admit their booking error - ‘Operated by Scoot’ until we confronted them.
This travel agent is so disgusting. Well done to show us a lack of attention to details. You caused inconvenience, stress and financial loss to us!
So, Sue and Heather, just leave us alone, do not send us your stupid promotion and courtesy cards!

I never write reviews but the service I have received by Helloworld has been atrocious. I booked flights online last April. I actually wasn’t aware I was booking through helloworld until after it was booked - the set up was super sneaky. I then had to cancel my flights due to a dying relative. I am now trying to use my flight credits and trying to get in touch to do this is horrendous. The helloworld website directs you to a phone number. That phone number redirects you to an email. No one answers the email. A week after my first email I sent a follow up. I got two responses and then radio silence for another week. Another follow up email went ignored. It’s now been 17 days since my original email and nothing. I have sent numerous emails, which are ignored. I’ve tried to contact an actual helloworld store and they apparently can’t look after online bookings. I also tried contacting them through Facebook and it just redirects to the phone number that no one answers. No one answers anything! This company is basically holding my flight credits hostage. I am pregnant and need to use these flight credits as soon as possible. I will never use this company again, and I will tell everyone I know not to. Truly disgusting service.

Great service, Julie looked after my booking, and got a marvellous deal for me, way cheaper than I could find on line. The lady spent 40 minutes on the phone to her agents, and got me a wonderful room

I have booked a few trips with the Golden Square branch . All of them had issues of some sort .
Cancelled Travel insurance with my final tickets would have been the worst example . Funny thing was , I didn't cancel it !
Lucky I double checked . It was like pulling teeth to get this resolved as well . The owner came across as being rather rude and pretentious . After that rather bad experience I found a alternative Company who looks after me and go through everything to make sure its all good !
Sad that I`m writing this but after giving them 3 chances and the "attitude" I got , I`m better off now . Deal with them at your own risk .
Extremely rude and traumatising experience
The purpose of this is not to be rude or belligerent, because I genuinely understand the pressures and challenges staff are facing right now, but given the extremely traumatising experience I had this afternoon with one of the staff members here, I feel people should know so they can avoid being similiarly treated.
This afternoon I went to helloworld Dapto with my Mum and saw Simone Waine to ask a simple question about travel insurance, and whether a travel agent is able to offer competitive prices for flights compared to online. Her demeanor at the beginning struck me as very uninterested, wanting to get rid of us in a hurry. When my Mum asked her why we should go with a travel agent instead of booking ourselves online (not at all rude, just asking her to sell us on her service, on what the benefits of a travel agents are), she became angry and said, 'I find that quite offensive. I'm so offended that you would say that after I've worked in this industry for 25 years, and you're basically asking me why I'm needed.' She stomped into the back (she was the only one there), refused to talk other than to hurl angry and bitter words, calling my Mum offensive, and tried to throw us out.
We tried and tried to calm her down, tried to explain that's not what we meant, but she refused to listen. Just told us to go away and book our flights ourselves, that she wasn't there to offer us free information. Finally my Mum left, in hopes that she would calm down and at least talk to me about our trip. When my Mum left, she kept saying rude things about my Mum, and about how offended she was, and I just sat there stunned at the tirade. Finally, I managed to get my question out, couched in the least offensive terms I could think of, and she tried to ignore my questions so I would get tired of asking and leave. But I kept at it, and finally she agreed to look up travel insurance prices for me. She was clearly upset at me and didn't want to serve me, and the incident really hurt my Mum both physically and emotionally, that she was thrown out and not even allowed to clarify that was not how she meant it! Even now it makes my stomach churn to think of how rude she was. I hope this incident can be dealt with appropriately, as Simone Waine clearly isn't cut out for customer service. I'm sorry to say that as a result of this incident, we will be going elsewhere with our questions, and not come to HelloWorld again. What started as a greatly anticipated appointment to discuss our travel plans and get help with a dream trip after being stuck here at home for two years, turned out to be devastatingly traumatising, and I feel her treatment of her customers shouldn't go unnoticed. I would hate for her to ruin other's travel planning experience as she did ours.

Federal Public Service staff booked out our WHOLE property for almost a week ( 6 Apartments) and we haven't seen a cent, coming up 3 weeks. They assured us they would pay the day after check out. Communication has been deplorable, you cant speak to anyone. Email assurances it will be paid are empty promises as each promise fails to materialise. Next step, complaint to the Federal Department directly and media! They should be stripped of their contract.

Booked a flight early 2019 for UK…
Booked a flight early 2019 for UK flying Emirates. Due to Covid plans cancelled. Had to make dozens of calls to enquire about a travel voucher. Finally got one ( must be redeemed at P/Valley Hello World) went to book something today and dicovered they are gone broke. Never used these guys before and can guarantee will never do so again. I am waiting for them to reply to my email, no hope of getting through to a human on the phone. Badly managed thieves! took me a while to put aside money for that fare. Feel sorry for those who have lost more.
They don't respond to you at all
They don't respond to you at all, neither to calls nor mail, I had to call 10 times a day to get mine answered and you won't believe, they will reveal all the deductions later and all you get of your refund is nothing. And I got refund after 5 good months after I vacated.
Never ever take their service, believe me, you would regret it
STILL WAITING FOR CRUISE REFUND
My grandson and I were book on a cruise in April 2020 but was cancelled due to Covid-19.
Paid a total amount of $3,400 for airfares and cruise received an refund of $580 in May 2020 for airfares and the breakdown in July 2020.
Come the ninth of October 2020 receive a different breakdown of airfares and finally a breakdown of the cruise fares.
Stating the cruise refund is $2,790.26 that's the amount I am yet to receive.
