I bought a pair of hunter boots from the company as a gift to my mother. They did not fit but since it had been over 35 days they would not take the return back. I ordered them early so that I would have them. I wrote a review on their website and they removed it. Will never order from this company again due to their policy. Have been buying Hunter boots for years. When companies like Noordstrom have amazing return policies why would you ever buy anything from the company directly.

About 6 years ago I had a long pair of Hunters that lasted until the heels wore down due to me wearing them all the time to walk dogs.
In the last 2 years the boots have been terrible. First pair both split across the toes. Second pair split on a seam. Third replacement ( Yes they are ok at replacing if you persist enough) between sole & boot they split. I glued that only for the toe bit to crack.
I've had these since March, and not worn them during the summer. Hunter boots are an expensive fashion item & not a practical welly boot.
AVOID!

I bought a rubberised smock from Hunter…

I bought a rubberised smock from Hunter and on the first outing two of the poppers dropped off. My experience with customer services has been beyond useless I'm sorry to say, an example of a company who don't realise the value of customer care. Firstly they said they wouldn't replace the coat until they got the faulty one back. I thought that was ok but then they said this could take up to 10 working days to process. It wasn't my fault the coat was faulty surely? After querying this, they eventually agreed that if I sent them the tracking details of their preferred method of returns they would, as 'a goodwill gesture' send the replacement out "immediately". To cut a long story short, I sent the details but they never honoured that promise and further emails got me nowhere. In the end, having looked at so many negative reviews I asked for a refund. This has been agreed but can take a further 5 working days to process, they also won't refund my postage costs. I've made a massive effort to get this resolved with absolutely no give on their part. At the end of the day they sold me shoddy goods and I'm presently £180 out of pocket. Do not buy from them, they don't deserve you!

Got most of the basics wrong.

Bought a jacket online. Hunter lost the order. It turned up 7 days late. tracking information was missing. The support from Customer service was poor (and that's being kind). The free gift was missing. If I could give one star I would. This is a premium brand operating as a non-premium brand. I get better service buying a book off ebay.

Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish!

If possible would have given Hunter Boots zero stars! My son bought his father a pair of Hunter Boots last July as a birthday present. By December they had started to leak. Duly contacted Hunter Boots customer services and was asked to send photos of the Boots inside, outside, etc then asked to send further photos every which way. However, pleasantly surprised a couple of days later to receive an email confirming that the Boots would be replaced and asking for delivery address to be confirmed. We waited .... then chased, waited .... chased, always only able to talk to a different customer services advisor (they must go through them like a dose of salts), no supervisor, or manager, ever available, or ever able to ring back. In January a replacement pair of boots were bought, definitely not Hunter Boots and continued chasing. In March a signed for letter was sent and ignored. No option then but to start a small claim. Finally, this prompted a response from 'Legal Counsel', but only for a refund with a thinly veiled threat of extra costs if I proceeded with the claim. Given the hassle, aggravation and cold wet feet in December this fell well short of what I'd asked for (which was not excessive) and was prepared to accept. She was 'keen to settle out of court' (but not for the full amount) calling nearly every day to alert me to emails she'd sent, etc. The long and short of it is they only coughed up the full amount when I chose to go to court and was at the stage of filling in the mediation forms required for a court hearing.
So, Hunter Boots get a big fat zero for manufacture and fitness for purpose.
Hunter Boots customer services similarly get a big fat zero for the complete absence of management to honour their guarantee, to sort out the promised replacements, or enable customers to escalate complaints.
Hunter Boots 'Legal Counsel' get another big fat zero for sending threatening letters and seeming to have little or no authority to sort anything without referring it up the chain.
The small claim process was quite easy, done online and if your claim is genuine you will get your costs back. So, go for it take the shysters to court!
If you're readings this before buying, take your money elsewhere, you have been warned!

Have just read review from Sue Ashmore, couldn't agree more, Have had dreadful service from Hunters, have had 3 pairs of boots now, ALL have split within months from normal dog walking. Sue had said they didn't want to know because she had not bought from a Hunter dealer, mine were direct from Hunters - didn't make any difference.
Have phoned and written and sent emails all have been ignored.
Do not bother with buying from Hunter there are many more reliable companies

My husband bought me a pair for Xmas as my old 1s at 20 years old gave up the ghost . Wish he hadn't bothered wasting his money . By March this year , they were leaking . All the sides on the seam at split . My feet were wet & cold . I spend a lot of time in my wellies as I own horses , but I'd still expect them to last longer than 3 months 😡 Got in touch with Hunter who basically told me " Not our problem as you didn't buy from a Hunter Dealer " I don't buy fish fingers from Findus either but I'm sure if I had a complaint about them they'd help . Disgusting customer service . I know they are made in China now , cheap labour and all that . But £80 + for wellies, you wouldn't mind if Hunter looked after their production like they did at Scotland . Wouldn't touch them again, and seriously wouldn't advise anyone else to either . Not worth the money and certainly not worth the Royal Crest . Go and spend £5 on some cheapos, they'll last longer

Garbage Quality, Garbage Customer Service

These boots have gone so downhill in quality, they are absolutely garbage now. I had a pair that I purchase 8 years ago, that lasted many years of abuse. I walked 1 hour to work and back for years every day and usually even wore the boots at work. I finally put a hole in the toe, but I was fine with that, I got an amazing amount of wear out of them. So I purchase a new pair and haven't worn them that much at all. I take them out canoeing and they started to split at a seam on both boots. Then the rubber started cracking at the ankles, then the sides. The boots were not abused at all, I was just sitting there when this all happened. They refuse to cover this under warranty or give any explanation as to why, they just stonewall you. When you pay almost $200 for rubber boots, you expect them to last, and if they don't, you expect the company to stand behind their quality. I will NEVER purchase Hunter boots again and I recommend you never do either and save your money. HORRIBLE customer service, horrible product, horrible experience. Go elsewhere!

Worst online shopping experience ever. If you position yourself a high-end brand act like one!

Worst online shopping experience ever! WORST.

When you charge for the boots €135 provide a free return policy too. It's embarrassing at this stage of Internet commerce. All major retailers give you a free postage self-adhesive labels, but no Hunter is stuck in the Medieval stages. So if you want to return - you have to pay for heavy boots, their insurance in case the package is lost and it should be trackable service, not a regular post. And the colors are very misleading on the website, so if you are unsure and want to try find - don't order. It's not worth it.

The website return policy is very shady and confusing. It's called 'dark design patterns' when you intentionally trying to confuse you users about the essential information.

Wellies are good but the company should seriously reconsider. If you position yourself a high-end brand act like one!

Hunterboots.com has the WORST customer…

Hunterboots.com has the WORST customer service I have experienced in quite some time. I ordered botsford my 4 yo on April 25, 2018. They came in and we ended up needing a bigger size despite using the provided measurements on their website. I requested an exchange. They quickly sent me a return label and they had the boots back in their possession on the 4th ot May. Over the next few weeks I spend lots of time emailing, calling, doing online chats but no one can tell me why my boots had not shipped. Stock was running low and I made it a point to say that I wanted them to handle the matter before it was out of stock. Here it is the 28th of May and I wake up to a refund because they are out of stock. Ridiculous!!

Sadly, now a devalued brand

Like other buyers we've recently discovered Hunter quality is not what it once was. Welliingtons split after 8 months of light use, we jumped through hoops, pics, information required that was on the original order history etc, to be told they would not supply a replacement only a refund - the same item was in stock in the correct size, but a slightly different colour and the price had increased. Really poor inflexible customer service.
This is the second pair of boots that have developed a problem - the first were expensive zip sided wellingtons, quite unbelieveably an element of these, the integrated boot push is not part of the moulding but glued in place at the heel, inevitably this has started to come away - really poor design.
When we originally made the purchase, directly from Hunter, it took 2 months to obtain a refund for a pair returned/size unsuitable - the warehouse seemed to be in utter chaos, they knew the delivery had been received, but couldn't find it - apparently this was 'typical, we have problems with returns atm'.
Asking around, our experience was not untypical, boots splitting or leaking now seems commonplace.
Hunter have devalued their brand and our next household purchases will be Aigle or Dubarry - in any case if you are tempted by Hunters, don't buy directly from them.

STOLE MY MONEY

Hi. I ordered two pairs of rain boots from Hunter. They did not fit so I returned both of them the same day I received them. I returned them in the same box however they only refunded one item. They stole $120 from me. I called customer service five times and they will not allow me to speak to a manager to resolve the issue. I have sent several emails with no response. This company is fraud so be very careful ordering online from them.

Only had my Hunter boots since 21 July…

Only had my Hunter boots since 21 July 2017, purchased from John Lewis, Southampton. The boots have cracked and letting water in, I only use them for walking my dog. Contacted Hunter this morning by email and they continuously kept asking me to send pictures, proof of purchase etc. I didn’t keep my receipt but forwarded my online banking statement showing the purchase from John Lewis. Apparently because I don’t have the original receipt they won’t give me a refund/replacement due to their policy. However, I sent them a picture of the box, the certificate, sticker price, confirming price and where purchased. Then they will asked me to send a hand written note with their reference number which they generated that morning and were using on the email exchange......strange. I think they thought I would go away and when I didn’t they pushed the goal posts. When I called them later this evening the person I spoke to said he couldn’t do anything about the decision as they have a very strict policy. When I asked to speak to a Manager he said they would be no guarantee that I will receive a call back and instead I will receive an email again. Absolutely shocking service, I will never ever buy from them again. I have contacted John Lewis, waiting for a response but I’m not hopeful as they said it doesn’t appear to be a manufacturer default, excuse me, what else do they call boots that have only been worn a few times and have cracked and letting water in. Shocking service from Hunter and John Lewis. I can’t believe that Hunter still have their Royal Crest......shocking. DO NOT BUY.

It must be really bad as I NEVER complain but I am so 😠

I’ve emailed Watchdog to see if they can help!

Very poor quality. Look dreadful after 2 years.

After just a year my navy blue wellies started having a white bloom on them. I was told that I was out of warranty but a care kit would be sent. Despite several reminders, nothing came from them. This year - boots 2 years old , they look dreadful. They are a murky, grey blue colour. They will not help as out if warranty and bought from Amazon- not an authorised dealer they said. Shocking. Don't buy.

Inflexible

Hunter refused to accept a return/exchange on boots purchased 3 months ago. US size 10/10.5 is NOT a European size 43. They are too big to wear. Shame on me for not reading the return policy. Shame on them for not making an exception since I am unlikely to shop Hunter again. There are many competitors who DO accept returns within 1 year.

Hunter Boot disappointment

I purchased Hunter boots on 2016. Did not use them all winter and spring and there are holes in the bottom of my boots. Customer service told me that it is not manufacture fault. I totally disagree :/ Not one boot, both of them have holes.
I definitely won't be back. Yep they offered me %25 off. Why would I purchase something that worn off in 20 use.

Note: They offered %50 since I sent them message through FB. No thank you. I won't recommend this brand to any of my friends anymore.

Horrible Shipping and Cust Serv

I purchased boots three weeks ago, very excited to get them. After two weeks nothing shipped. I very nicely contacted customer service, who said they were looking into it with no follow though. Again, contacted them. Said I would hear that day. Nothing. Basically you have to be a really rude customer for them to actually do something about it. Not a great customer service model to anger your customers off by doing nothing when at the point of frustration you ask them to cancel. They say they sent it in the mail and then I can return it. SO BACKWARDS! I will not support this company.

I requested a cancel. One person said it wasn’t possible (FYI on their website they can cancel if they want, so it actually is possible). I then receive an email it’s not possible to cancel NOW because they finally got it together to ship it.

Oh and their compensation- a 25% off my next purchase. You can guarantee I won’t use it after this horrible customer service.
