Hunter Wellies NOT fit for purpose …

I received a pair of Hunter Wellies for Xmas 2014. The boots had been purchased earlier in 2014 and out away for Christmas as a surprise. The boots subsequently failed, with cracks appearing on both boots above the big toe joint and along the seams. I complained to Hunter just before Christmas 2015. Hunter responded by saying that, as the boots had been purchased before December 2014 and were now over 12 months old, Hunter were unwilling to provide a refund or replacement pair. They did however offer a 50% discount and I purchased a second pair of BALMORAL ADJUSTABLE 5MM NEOPRENE WELLINGTON BOOTS. These lasted 8 months before the same faults appeared. Stupidly after complaining again, I agreed to having the boots replaced and took delivery of a new pair of MEN'S BALMORAL BAMBOO CARBON WELLINGTON BOOTS. Don't be fooled by the word CARBON in the name, which imply's strength, this pair didn't make it to 2 months old before yet again the boots cracked and split along the seem in the toe area. I requested all my money back and got less than 50% even been charged for the speedy delivery of the third pair as I had no boots to wear. I cannot believe that the reason they quoted for the failure was that I wasn't wearing them enough and hadn't washed them in soapy water after every use!!! Hunter's customer service is woeful and takes weeks to deal with returns / complaints. I suppose this is because they have so many complaints to deal with. Even an email to the Company's chairman concerning the matter was not answered. In my opinion if you want some new wellington's buy another Brand or expect to be bitterly disappointed.

Faulty product refused to replace

I got in contact with Hunter Boots Ltd, and it firstly took them a few days short of a month to reply... When they did reply they accepted that the product (Boots) were faulty but

"Unfortunately, your product was not purchased at one of our authorised stockists"...

I got them from the local garden centre not ebay or anything like that. Product less that a year old, and i had the receipt

What a copout.

Do not buy from Hunters

Very poor returns service. I returned 2 pairs of boots at the end of October and am still waiting for my refund 6 weeks later. They confirmed receipt of the returns 3 weeks ago and promised to escalate the refund. I was given a Case ID but have heard nothing since. I am now having difficulty getting through to Customer Service by phone.

I will never use this company or it’s products again. Avoid!

Incompetence at it's best!!!

I have never dealt with such an incompetent bunch of people in my whole life!! My boots split down the back seam and are still under guarantee. After sending about 20 different photographs to Hunter from every angle possible I was assured that as soon as my boots were returned I would receive a replacement pair. After a whole month I am STILL waiting!!!!! First of all it took 2 weeks to generate a returns label. Then I kept getting emails saying they needed pictures of the fault!!!! I was told on 18th Nov that my boots had been received back in the warehouse on 15th November but nothing had yet been done about sending out a new pair! When I rang on 23rd I was assured that a replacement pair would now be dispatched!!!!!! When I rang again on 1st December I was told they had no record of ever receiving my faulty ones back!!!! They've now said it could take up to 10 days to investigate!!!!!

Poor quality and rubbish Customer Service!

23 months old, used only for dog wa\lking, both boots have split in the same place on top of the toes. Refused a refund and even a letter to a Director of the Company cannot get a response; would NEVER buy a product from Hunter Boots again, especially as the now Chinese made boots are of inferior quality to what I would expect from £100.00 plus boots!

Still haven't got my refund

I ordered a pair of boots at the beginning of October, I decided to go with a different brand as I found them cold and uncomfortable.
It took hunter 2 weeks to generate a post label in order to send them back and on the website says allow 5-10 working days for a refund...it's now been 18 working days...

Customer service number on website doesn't work, I've sent 6 emails with no response and now even the Facebook messages aren't delivering.

I'm at a loss and just want to be done with this company, I would advise anyone against dealing with them.

Appalling Quality & Customer Service

To be honest, I'd rather not even give 1 star! I bought a pair of Hunter wellies last August costing approx £80. They haven't been worn very often and last month I noticed that they had started to perish and crack. Unfortunately I no longer have the receipt but I do have my credit card statement that Hunter are refusing to accept.

I am shocked & appalled as I was under the impression that I was paying a high price for a quality product but in reality they are the worst quality boots I have ever had the misfortune to own.

I am now going to Trading Standards as these boots are clearly not fit for purpose and are not of a satisfactory quality.

I advise anyone thinking of buying Hunter boots to seriously think again as you will simply be wasting your money

I've just spoken to Trading Standards and they have advised that anyone with a complaint that is not handled properly by Hunters should contact them so that they can build a picture of their trading practices

Poor quality, poor customer service and sharp practices

My Daughter bought boots for my wife on mother day 2016 from the Hunter's web site which claims 24 month warranty for manufacturing and material failures. When they perished within 18 months Hunters rejected the complaint out of hand claiming it was not a material fault. As a Polymer chemist I know that the boots had not been exposed to conditions that could cause this and that it is due to poor vulcanisation. Hunters further insulted us by offering 20% discount for a new pair - Why would anyone buy another pair - at a price that would give more profit to Hunters- and clearly not covered with a warranty of any value and of no use.- Cheap Supermarket wellies last longer!!!
The customer service is clearly trained on avoiding dealing with complaints by denial, avoidance and delay instead dismissing the complaint without any investigation other than a picture which clearly shows perishing..

Unbelievably Bad Quality

Unbelievably bad quality. That was a surprise to me. Even though I bought these boots about 3 -4 years ago I have only worn them about 10 times. The heels began to come away from the boot the last time I wore them. I called / emailed their customer care. After being made to jump through hoops with the information they wanted they stated that it is out of their 24 month warranty... so basically... tough. They could have said that from the get-go at least. I do not have a receipt, not that it would have made any difference. Anway, who keeps receipts for a wellington boots? At a cost of over £100 I certainly didn't expect them to fall apart so quickly with so little use. These boots no matter how long ago they were bought they are / were not fit for purpose. Hunter Customer Service couldn't have been more unhelpful in the way they approached this. Do yourselves a favour forget the name, they don't give a hoot about their quality control. Buy a cheaper pair of boots, save your money. I am absolutely sure that whatever boots you buy (other than Hunter) they'll last way longer and will most probably be cheaper. Perhaps the Royals have 'special' ones made :/. I was an idiot believing that Hunter cared about their quality control and their reputation. They don't care about either and it seems to be all about fooling the public. Well consider me fooled.

got to say the quality of hunter boots is dire

got to say the quality of hunter boots is really poor, not sure what has happened to their quality control over the years, but to buy a pair @circa £100 and then for them to split near the toe after 12 months is really poor and I had not really used them that much since last winter, took the dog for a walk today and came back with one foot soaking wet...so decided to try another brand after 30 years of loyalty rockfish wellies here I come....good buy hunter wellies hello rockfish...

Bad experience with exchanging a damaged pair of boots!

I must say, I´m not happy at all about your customer service.
First of all when I returned a pair of boots which were damaged, I asked to get an exchange. The 17. of august I got a mail, saying that the new boots were sent to me.The 25. of august I got another mail, telling me that the value for the boots were refunded to my account.
I contacted customer service right away and asked why the replacement were drawn back. The woman I spooked with said that they were properly out of stock. She checked and the boots were still in stock.
I don´t understand this!? I was told that the replacement would be free of charge. But now I have to buy the boots again and I also have to pay the shipping cost. I have already spent more than 36 euro to send the damaged boots back to Hunter. Because when you are an international customer this would be at your own cost.
I must say I´m very disappointed in the way you have handled this case.
And I´m back to zero - no boots!!
