Cashflow issues?

I used Liigu earlier this month, the experience of renting and using the car was quite positive. Its gone severely downhill since, like many others on here, I'm not able to get back the deposit taken. I've emailed several times and been promised someone would follow up, that never happens, no resolution in sight. Avoid using this company until they sort out their issues!

NEVER CHOOSE LIIGU!!!

This place is the worst. They charge you for leaving the country, they charge you for speeding tickets, AND after over a month they haven’t returned my $1600 deposit. They charged me over $2000 in fees on a $350 car rental for a week.

Deposit still not refunded

The customer service is awful. Since returning the car and sending the video of the return I have had to send over 10 emails asking for a refund of my deposit and all I get is an apology and checking the status of my case. I have had to pay my credit card invoice because liigu took a 1000 euro deposit and still did not give it back. The car was returned in perfect condition and I have not received any information that anything was wrong. The policy of other car rental companies is that they refund the deposit within 72 hours. At Liigu the customer service is terrible, they do not want to help me at all. The next step will be legal action because it is illegal to keep my money reserved for so long time without any reason!

Deposit of €1500 has still not been repaid. Reason is "technical difficulties". Over 2 weeks now and no timescale provided for repayment although their terms say 72 hours.
Very poor

At the end of my call agent says "have a wonderful day" 🙄

Be careful as they will probably take…

Be careful as they will probably take your cc deposit and falsely claim that the car was damaged . Looks cheap but will end up cost you 10X more. Go with real brand names rentals.

Refund Failure

Rental process wat ok, until you return the car. They charge your creditcard with a 1000 euro deposit (not a reservation) and fail to pay you back. I've been waiting over 2 weeks and they keep telling me 'within the next days we will return your money'. I'm really frustrated and will think twice using this rental again.

No return of deposit

I completed my car rental on 27th September 2024 in the condition I received the car, also fulled up. As I had not received any communication about any issues, I assumed my deposit was returned back to my credit card.

While checking my statement 10 days later I notice that the deposit has not been returned! I chased this up and was advised that there probably has been a delay in the 'expert report' after rental and someone will chase this up and I'll be advised once the refund has been done.

It is now more than 2 weeks since the end of my rental and I am yet to receive anything and what has made it worse, bank has direct debited €1500 for my credit card so I am now in a different situation financially due to the refund not being administered.

I tried calling twice today morning and I was advised someone will call me back as they are all busy. I had no returned call and I chased it up now. Thankfully someone answered but I got the same response as a week ago. The lady said she will mark my matter as urgent.

As far as I'm concerned nothing has been bought to our attention, and noone advised of this 'delay' so I should have my deposit back but I'm left with a negative balance in my bank account!

withheld deposit

I hired a car in Nice on 12th September and returned it on 15th September.
Today 14th October I am still waiting for the return of a security deposit of £2500. I have phoned, whatsapped , emailed. I get lots of apologies but no money.
Do not use this company.
Lanas reply is no help. I have given the details 10 times via whatsapp and phone.

Don't expect to get your money back anytime soon

We returned our car three weeks ago and still waiting to get our security deposit back, which is extremely stressful. They claim to return it within 72 hours and I understand there can be delays, but not delays of THREE WEEKS. The customer service keeps telling me that there is a delay and there are working on it, but I find it impossible that it takes 3 weeks to evaluate a car that probably has been rehired in the meantime. They neither provided me with a document stating I returned the car, however, I am trying to raise the issue with my bank and worst case, I will need to get lawyers involved. (Booking number: 93390206)

When is the expected return of the amount held in your account?

It's been over two weeks and there is still no reason not to return it. (09/21/2024) - vehicle returned on 09/28/2024

Will never rent from them again

Rented a car from milan malpensa airport, I have returned the car 10 days ago and did not receive my deposit although I have sent many mails and messages. Important to say that Liigu doesnt have any explanation to the deposit holding, they are just sorry for the delay....will never rent from them again and I am considering to file a lawsuit...

Update on my review(6/11/24)- Now its more than 30 days without returning my money. 1500euros got stolen by this company. Be careful! They are not holding your deposit like they should and every decent car rental company does, 2 days before the rent they charge the full "deposit" amount.

No deposit refund.

Pick up and return great. Love the keyless aspect and ease. BUT despite contacting them my deposit is still not returned. Returned car to Bordeaux airport on 28th September. It is now way after the 72 hours advertised. I am still €1500 out of pocket. Disappointing and makes me think twice about using them again.

Unserious scam company

More than 3 months has passed since renting the car, I still haven’t got back my deposit of 1500 Euros. Also, it seems I have to pay for a car that I couldn’t use, since it stopped working after 2,5 hours due to “technical error” (probably electrically related), and they haven’t responded to my claim of getting back the rental cost, of appr. 500 Euros.

When I call the service desk, they don’t have any information about the matter, and it’s not possible to talk to anyone working on the matter. I had many calls, with basically the same result; sometimes they say the manager responsible for the matter is on vacation, or they will ask them to get back to me, but they never do.

I had no problem renting and picking up the car from Toulouse airport, but after 2,5 h the car got a technical error in the middle of the night and thus just stopped working and got stuck in a dangerous traffic situation (a hybrid car, so I couldn’t move the car from its position in a roundabout), and eventually got road assistance to a depot. After many phone calls to the company’s help desk, I was informed more than one day after that the technical problem of the car was more severe and it won’t be available during my rental period (one week). They offered me a replacement car, if I paid an additional deposit of 1500 euros, and I also had to go back to the Toulouse airport to pick up the car, meaning basically a whole day of my vacation. Obviously, an unreasonable offer that I couldn’t accept.

As of today, I haven’t got neither the deposit or rental costs back, nor any clear message on the status of the matter.

I have rented several times with Liigu without any issues. But currently I haven’t got my deposit back from a rental mid September even though customer service confirmed no issues with the car. For the time being you can’t even get in phone contact…

Many issues with this keyless system and the Liigu communication system

The car was not at the spot that was instructed so I walked to the wrong hotel location. I had to wait 10 minutes to get someone on the phone, and then 10 more minutes to get my instructions to another hotel to pick up the car. It was a 15 minute walk to the car from there. The connectivity between my I-phone and the car was poor. I had to try multiple times to get the phone to open the car, often taking a few minutes and causing me a lot of anxiety that I was stranded. When I returned the car, their system was down, and I just had to leave the car without knowing if everything was OK. I tried to call but their message stating to call back later. Finally, I just received a charge from Liigu on my credit car for $99 three months after my rental . No email explanation. No nothing! Now I have to do a fraud claim with my credit card company. Do not rent from this company. They are out of control.

Liigu cancelled at short notice due to 'fleet issues'

Cancelled a 46 day booking due to 'fleet issues' 8 days before I was due to collect the car. I've used Liigu previously and like their service, despite a couple of minor gripes relating to practicalities of a keyless/phone only system, however cancelling a reservation at short notice suggests they can't be relied on to honour bookings.

We picked a car up in Nice which was…

We picked a car up in Nice which was contactless and used the phone to open the doors. This whole experience was excellent. However they took a deposit of Eu 1500 and have not returned it 2 weeks later. I am now having to pay interest on this as I borrowed it on my credit card. I have contacted Liigu and they have just sent delaying messages

Beware. Unethical Thieves.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: If you have been screwed by Liigu, contact me on jonpaulpartyka86 at gmail.com as I am arming for a class action within the next few months.

Beware. They are unethical thieves.

Rented car, crossed into 1 street in a small "country" in Europe. Hit with 500 EUR fine from Liigu due to crossing over to a unapproved country (extortion anyone?).

Now 1500 EUR rental deposit has been sitting there for 12 days and not refunded. Keep being told "looking into it". It's very hard to press a refund deposit button apparently.

Liigu, when you read this, don't respond with "thanks for feedback can you let me know your policy number". You already have all the info, give me my money back.

To anyone thinking of using Liigu, good cars, good prices, but it's a gamble as they precharge your card, and any "fees" they automatically charge your card. They are in complete control and there is little you can do if they screw you and you will need to go legal as I am.

Beware.

Edit as of 17.10.2024: no deposit, no communication

Edit as of 26.11.2024: after being on their case for almost 2 months, they finally agreed to only give me 150EU vs the 1500EU I paid. No reason as to why and I know the car was in the exact same condition when i dropped it off and have photo and video evidence. I am filing multiple avenues of formal proceedings including: filing a complaint with the CPTRA (you can do this by the way) and persuing legal action locally.

Fleet issues…?

I had loved the Liigu no check in desk policy . I have used them 3-4 times . But recent hire in Nice was subcontracted to Sixt and usual desk checkin from a different terminal . ‘Fleet issues’ apparently . Is this going to happen in the future? Disappointing
