24 DAYS and still no return of a deposit!!!

It's been 24 DAYS since the car was returned in perfect order and still NO DEPOSIT WAS RETURNED!!! This company also had the nerve to charge us 50 euros for picking up the car late when they didn't give us the info on where the car was located in the airport for over an hour, even after trying multiple ways to get this information. This is the worst car rental agency we've ever had, and we've traveled to many countries. Thank goodness the car worked well and we had a wonderful trip despite this terrible company. Stay clear of Liigu!

Most unethical company I have ever…

Most unethical company I have ever dealt with. Don't believe me? Check out their Google and other website reviews. Their business model is to steal your 1500 euro security deposit as a matter of course. They will look over every square centimeter of the car looking for scratches or blemishes and claim that they happened during your rental. I returned the car undamaged and they took my entire security deposit. When I asked for proof of damage done - silence.

Ok but no refund on deposit as yet

We rented a car through liglu from Bordeaux airport.. process was relatively easy to follow .. all done through the app and the customer service was good however I am struggling with getting my deposit of £1200 back .. their website says 72 hours but it has now been 2 weeks .. so this has put me off using them again

Don’t use Liigu

Don’t use Liigu, their business model is a scam and even though they keep their prices low they will make it back by adding additional fees which are absurd such as an 45 euro administrative fee for sending you an e-mail… they will also change the car model to an older without compensation. If you try to complain, they simply won’t respond.

Edit 17/10: As always a well formulated apology instead of actually doing anything to lure more people into their scam. If they had been in the least as sorry or “willing to improve” as they say, I would have gotten at least 1 non automated answer in return. Don’t be fooled. Don’t Use this company. It is most likely cheaper using the regular rental companies.

Regarding the administrative fee, this covers the costs associated with processing the fine, including third-party fees and labor involved. We understand these fees can be frustrating, but they help us cover necessary administrative costs, including fines processing. Additionally, the cleaning fee was applied as the vehicle was returned in a condition that required extra cleaning.

If i could give them zero stars i would…

If i could give them zero stars i would be happy to give it them . Please don’t trust this company as this company loves to illegally hold the deposit. They claim that after sending pics and videos they will refund within 72 hrs and it’s been 8 days now and the deposit is still with them . Whenever, you call them they just say there is some administrative and technical error and trying to resolve . Then after sometime they stop responding to emails. We are now looking at legal options under class action suit as their conduct is totally illegal and against the contract .

Paris Orly rental - 23 Y/O 5⭐

Rented a car from Liigu from Paris Orly for the week. Being 23 makes it quite difficult to find a rental car company at a reasonable price! Luckily Liigu were able to offer a really good price on the rental, with a slightly higher deposit (which is usual for being a young driver). Keyless pickup meant we could head straight from baggage to the car and get going, you have to pay the parking charge but it was only a couple of euros even with our flight being delayed. Car was returned and again photos and videos taken with absolutely no issues, I had the full refund confirmed within a week.

Overall I put approximately 1500km on the car faultlessly, will definitely be using them again!

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY

I agree with the other posts below. I WOULD NOT USE THIS COMPANY if you are paying with a UK credit card. A deposit of 1500 Euros was taken from my French bank account, leaving me with no holiday money. When I called the company to complain they moved it across to the other card (visa) I had loaded into the app (so at that point I was down 3,000 Euro) and the original payment took about 5 days to be returned. I specifically asked the operator if it would be a hold on the card and was told it would be. When I got the car it was in a Nice airport car park - I had to pay the parking charge, which is fine as long as you are on time. If you arrive late it could be a lot of money. I then got a 45 Euro admin charge relating to a parking fine (the Liigu charge was higher than the fine!). When the deposit was returned onto my car I lost over £100 in charges and currency exchange differences. When I complained about that I just got a "computer says no" response - at no stage has Liigu recognised and honoured what I was told about the deposit when I rang them up. Finally, I found the App intermittent at best so I had to "swipe up" and reopen it every time I wanted to get in the car or start it. So in summary, an interesting idea which doesn't really work and ends up with lots of hidden charges. I will be using conventional companies in future!

Regarding the parking fee, we ask customers to cover the cost if the car is delivered to a paid airport parking lot. In some locations, cars can be left in a free parking area further from the airport, but our staff strives to park as close as possible to your pickup time to avoid high fees for our customers.

As for the administration fee related to the fine, this additional charge covers the costs of processing the fine, including labor and fees from third parties. Liigu pays the fee imposed by the company that owns our cars, as well as the fee for processing the fine digitally. We understand this can be frustrating and are always looking for ways to improve transparency on such charges.

Finally, we sincerely apologise for the money lost due to currency exchange differences when your deposit was refunded. We understand how frustrating that can be and are working to enhance this part of our service to better meet customer expectations.

Terrible company

Terrible company
Booked a BMW Serie 1. Pickup was to be at Europcar. Ligu called me 24-hours that my cat has now to be picked up at Avis/Budget.
When I arrived there the reservation was for an economy car. I called Ligu, chat with them via WhatsApp. All they had to say is that they were sorry and they can cancel my reservation If I would like to!
Spent over a hour on the phone to try to fix the mater, waiting sometimes 15mn in between the Ligu rep and her supervisor who was slow, not aware and has no authority to get the issue solved. After 1h15mn I had no choice but to pay the price difference of 200€ /3 days. Insane. Stay away from this reservation platform that presents themselves as a car rental company but they are not!

Ok experience, "hidden" costs and poor communication

Interesting experience with LIIGU...
I have rented in many countries and literally never had any issue.
I had two rentals booked with LIIGU. The first went fine, booked through the app, picked up in a random hotel basement a few km's from the airport I wanted but no problem.
I was then waiting over a week for my deposit return, and I was surprised that I had lost £17 in the transaction from £-€. I was aware of this from the t&c's as the company operate in euro but the deposit is classed as a "payment" not simply on hold like most rental companies...
So I lost £3 on my actual rental price and £17 on the deposit being taken and refunded. Not the end of the world but annoying and avoidable.

Then I started receiving emails from "wisecars" and avis about a booking I had apparently made... I was confused and thought I was being scammed! I called wisecars to find out LIIGU had moved my rental to another company without telling me, and my additional driver could not be moved over so this would need to be paid for again on collection.

I contacted lIIGU on WhatsApp and they casually acknowledged this is what's happened, with no further explanation or any offer of refund for the additional driver... I then decided with the money I would lose in the transfer and no longer being a keyless pickup, I would cancel my second booking as it was getting too complicated.

In summary, a nice idea for a company, responds well to messages, but I do class the deposit being a payment, not on hold, as a hidden cost, and the poor communication for my particular rental means I probably would not use these guys again.

Dreadful Experience

Dreadful experience so far. Booked six months ago. Yesterday, two days before I'm due to travel, I received an email indicating some sort of technical issue at Toulouse airport and that my booking was being transferred to a third party supplier. When I ask Liigu to confirm that the details of my agreement with them, for which I paid in May, pertain for the third party supplier, I received three pieces of contradictory advice in a matter of minutes from their WhatsApp contact. Now it tells me to call the third party supplier myself. But that company's website tells me to contact Liigu.

This is the worst customer service I've ever received from a car hire company. Avoid them like the plague is my advice.

Liigu is the FRAUD..

Liigu is the FRAUD... They charged me FOUR times their posted deposit (1,500 Euro posted, 6,000 [SIX THOUSANDS] Euro charged), and in 3 weeks since returning the car, deposit is NOT refunded - I reported them as FRAUD, to the US bank.

Don’t ever book with this company

I made a reservation with them to rent a car in Milan and the day before I had to pick up the car they sent me an email that they couldn’t get any cars and they had cancelled my prepaid reservation.
I had to make a reservation with a different company at a substantial higher rate.

Unreliable

I rentet and prepaid a car 6 months in advance. A few days before my vacation, my booking was cancelled due to “technical failure”. I have never heard of a car rental company that does not manage to find another car. I had to rent another car, last minute from another company, at a much higher price. So thank you liigu for incredible bad service. My advice, find your rental car somewhere else.

I booked with Liigu half a year in advance, and they canceled my reservation the day before I was to leave on my trip! They gave me no explanation or warning. Horrible company. You’ll notice they don’t allow any reviews on their Facebook page, probably because they would be overrun with poor reviews. Ended up going with Hertz

Not Worth the Hassle

Hassle to pick up car. Had to shlep our luggage a half mile to some hotel parking lot and try to find the car. Had to pay 25 euros to get the car out of the lot. Wasn’t aware that could not cross country border which wasn’t made clear. Fined me nearly the cost of the entire rental because of this. Won’t use again.

This is by far the worst experience in…

This is by far the worst experience in car rental that I had in years. Looks great on paper, but absolutely ugly in reality.

Charged cross border fee + penalty while we were driving, my wife panicked and paid the fee, but apparently this fee can't be refunded. Support is not responsive.

72 hours later after we left the car I received an email that there is a problem with the return of the deposit. No reasonable explanation when it'll happen. 1000 Euro is frozen on my credit card with a potential fees from the bank.

I am now eagerly waiting to see if they find any damage on the car, though it was kept off-street and there is not a single new scratch on an already pretty damaged car.

Avoid like the plague. Stick to traditional rentals have you have to.

This appalling company

This appalling company, clearly about to fail, should be avoided at all costs:

On booking car hire I was told deposit was £1250.
Normally this would be held against a card but not only did they take it immediately ( clearly cash flow issues ) they took it in euros with a consequent charge of £38.

I tried calling them - they don’t pick up and a message says they will call you back - a lie.
If they respond to an email it is several days later.
I told them to refund a different card to avoid currency charge.

They say deposits are refunded within 3 days - another lie. Mine was refunded 9 days later and to the original card, resulting in another charge.

They tell you that delays are due to administration problems -nonsense.
The only administration problem they have is that they show every sign of imminently being under administration.

What a difference a year makes

It was a 5 star company the first time we used them.
This time, instead of complimentary water, it was the previous drivers hair in the cup holders.
i ordered a car with satellite navigation but wasn't given one. i phone customer service and was answered by someone who told me none of thier cars came with this option. I told her that they advertised this option, that i had had it previously and that i had paid for it.
She went to check with her manager, and yes she said some cars do come with GPS,
So why haven't I got one I said.
I have been unlucky she said. would i like to send an email.
No, I said, how will sending an email help. I want the car I paid for.
She went to check with her manager. Sorry no cars with GPS were available.
And that was that.
I stopped at the first service station and bought a holder for my phone which attached to the windscreen and used Waze for the rest of my trip.
On coming back to the car it wouldn't open.
Phoned customer services again. It turned out that I had to reboot the app on my phone everytime I needed to unlock the car. Oh, how i missed the simplicity of a key.
Now, over a week later, I am still waiting for the £1300.00 deposit to be returned due to "unexpected administrative delays". I have no idea if this company is solvent or not but i won't be risking it in the future.
Now nearly 3 week’s later still no return of the deposit

5 weeks and still no deposit.
They tell you it will be resolved by the end of the week. Nothing happens.
You get the feeling they haven't got the money in the bank.

Mixed Service

Good service up until return of deposit. Was meant to be back within 72 hours however took a full week with little communication

Bad. They steal your deposit

Everything was great with them. Was comfortable until the end of the rental. It's been over a week since I returned the car and I still haven't received my deposit. It's a lot of money that I need all the time administrative problems are written.! Too bad, because I would come back later but I just have my money as a hostage.
