We rented a car from Liigu
We rented a car from Liigu. Rental was payed and confirmed. Evening before arrival got a mail saying the rental was unavailable. We won’t trust Liigu easily again. Now we are stuck in Nice, trying to get an available car, at a much higher price.

Beware!!
Rented a car from Nice Airport in Aug 2024. Returned the car in perfect condition and took tons of photos and videos due to the fact that no one is doing the check out on site with a damage check. Received an email a few days later with a damage report, saying that there is a scratch at a door. None of my photos show the damage and it is likely that it is only a relection of the lines of the parking lot. Sent tons of emails to discuss and asked for morr photos of the potential damage. Very strange experience snd beware!!

Absolute SCAM
Absolute SCAM - do not trust. They cancelled my booking WHEN I LANDED because my photo ID upload “did not meet their requirements” and they charged me £100 to do so!!! Then I had to pay £300 for an airport taxi!! I don’t think they ever had a car for me - just a total rip off.

Do not use this company.
They take your money and make a booking and then cancel the booking with no explanation saying they have no cars available. I then ring them and they tell me it will take 7 -10 days to refund the money.
What a complete waste of time. Still waiting for the refund. 😤😖😾
I wish to add that I then had to put a complaint into my bank as no refund had been issued and when I looked back on skyscanner Liigu were still offering masses of cars from Nice airport so I am afraid I cannot accept the below excuse.

Lack of customer service
Everything was great, apart from when we added a second driver and it took half the holiday for them to accept it! I disputed this when we got home as we paid for a week of an additional driver and were only able to use them for 3 days and I was told it was basically tough and no refund would be offered. Poor customer service.

Stay away from Liigu Nice Airport
I hired a car at Nice airport and was expecting a Skoda estate but arrived to find a small Peugeot. It only held one large suitcase in the boot despite having booked a car (or similar) that would take 4 large suitcases. We also paid extra for cross border travel as we intended a day trip to Italy. I received a 110 Euro penalty for entering Monaco as the T&Cs state that it is outside the EEA and Monaco is not covered, despite being only 20 miles from Nice and a standard destination for most tourists in the area, and not a problem with most car hire companies. The car had little stickers around it to highlight scrapes prior to me hiring it. They were very small and it made me nervous about the condition I returned it in as there was a 1500 Euro excess deposit.
I raised a complaint on my return about the car not being fit for purpose, as we intended to take 2 bikes in the boot, and the unfair penalty fee. They replied to offer 30 Liigu points/a 30 Euro voucher. Stay away from Liigu if at all possible. I suspect I will now receive a feedback comment but if this post remains as it is you can presume that I have not changed my view.

Won’t get your deposit back
Unbearable company to deal with! Returned the car on Friday 23rd August, and had no correspondence after 72 hours that my security deposit had been refunded (Terms and Conditions state 72 hours) After many phone calls and emails chasing, I was told three times on Thursday 29th August that the refund had been completed. After speaking with the Bank there was no pending transactions from this company and still no refund! Now received an email and WhatsApp message saying there is a delay with the refund! They are a company that lied to me three times on Thursday, and am now worried I will never get the deposit back! Has anyone had the same issue, and knows is there is an Authority above this company I can go to?

Be prepared for what you're signing up for
THE GOOD - The car was nice and well cleaned (there was a bottle of water), very thoughtful.
THE BAD - The pickup (and drop-off) point was 45 minutes away from the airport - 20 min walk, 10 min shuttle ride and 15 min walk - to the parking of a hotel. Not to mention in 35 degrees with luggage and 2 kids.
What's worst is that they do not tell you where the pickup is until 15 mins before the pick up.
THE UGLY - The customer service is robotic and empathy-less. (although support in the app while the rental is on pretty good; sometimes it takes longer than you'd expect)
Also be mindful that this is a keyless car operated via your phone/bluetooth. (sometimes you have to quit the app and restart your bluetooth to unlock the doors) So if something goes wrong with your phone, god help you. (because you might not have a phone to call customer support) And you cant have the app downloaded on a back up phone.

Ignoring correspondence about promised refund
Main issues were
- picked up car within 45 mins of agreed time but car park ticket didn’t work so was stuck in Milan Malpensa airport. If we didn’t speak Italian we’d probably still be there.
- fuel tank was only 90% full so they said they’d refund me. I’ve chased them numerous times over the last month and they’re totally ignoring me.
- accidentally crossed Swiss border for a couple of mins and got charged €100.
Overall, given their dishonestly, I won’t use them again and would advise anyone to avoid.
Update: Liigu followed up from this review and have gone back to ignoring me again. Also, Liigu…you notified me of the fuel issue before I picked the car up and said you’d refund me. You’ve since totally ignored me.

Very easy to use, minor trouble with locking/unlocking car with phone if the app was not restarted. Delay on delivery of rental car, however the customer support were very friendly and made up for the issues.
Overall good experience and I would probably use their services again.
