Everyday is a new issue with liquid web…

Everyday is a new issue with liquid web - it's what happens when you save money and get people in developing countries to do the work of someone in America.

Constant issues - where you can't even chat with someone, doesn't welcome you, just loads up and when you type something in there - nothing works

you then have to send an email which can take hours to do.

Well done Liquid web - for ruining absolutely everything you can ruin. I hope your greedy corporate executive team looses all their money

Double charge for same service

Double charge for same service
I paid the invoice manually but their system made an automatic charge with the same amount. I sent the screenshot about it from my payment system but they even didn't do anything in the last 2 weeks.

As a Linux Admin I understand about hardware failure better than most. When the OPS team were called they handled the situation. I did not even need to do a restore.

Deteriorating Service- Stay Away!

Deteriorating Service- Stay Away!
I am currently experiencing a total service failure with Nexcess. Their server configuration is blocking Googlebot, causing 28+ 'Other Errors' in Search Console and killing my business. Their 'Managed' support ignored my emergency for 7 days because the ticket was 'routed to a credit queue.' A supervisor just offered a 1-month credit while the site is STILL broken. If you value your SEO and your revenue, stay away from Nexcess. They admit to 'poor implementation' of firewall rules but refuse to fix the damage. Endless circle of different agents unaware of the issues and therefore unable to fix them. Emails not replied to; endless waits on phone lines; Supervisors useless- 3 weeks of misery and ongoing.

When your ticket was opened on February 3, 2026, your site was experiencing a SQL injection attack, DNS complications, and significant bot traffic.

Our team worked continuously to mitigate the attack, stabilize the environment, and followed the command-line instructions provided during troubleshooting. The case was escalated to senior technicians for further review.

A detailed review of server logs and firewall rules found no server-side blocking of Googlebot. We also implemented additional adjustments to improve crawl consistency, which have been validated as functioning properly.

Concerns related to Amazon Pay, Stripe, and certain third-party modules were confirmed to be application-level rather than server-side, though we made goodwill adjustments where possible to help resolve reported CORS errors.

That said, we acknowledge there were communication gaps, particularly while the case was in a leadership queue for credit review, which led to delays. We sincerely apologize for that breakdown and for not setting clearer expectations earlier around the scope of managed support.

As a goodwill gesture, we offered service credit based on our findings. While we understand this did not meet your expectations, the case remains active and our senior team continues to engage directly to address any remaining concerns.

A Technical Nightmare: From Broken Setup Promises to 2018-Era Hardware Performance

I returned to Liquid Web after a decade, remembering their "Heroic Support" from 2012. Unfortunately, the 2026 experience was a total failure for my business-critical applications.

1. The Setup Lie: I signed up for a Bare Metal Intel E-2134 server because they promised it would be "ready in minutes." I waited 12 hours with a dashboard stuck in "Processing." I contacted support and sales 5 times, and all I got was a cycle of "escalated tickets" and "passing the chat" with no resolution. Case #: 43483436

2. Extreme Hardware Bottlenecks: Once the server was finally live, the real nightmare began. As a Web Designer and SEO Specialist, I benchmarked the drive performance. For a "Bare Metal" dedicated server, I was shocked to find:

Disk Write Speeds: Averaging a measly 71.7 MB/s.

Storage: They are still utilizing outdated SATA SSDs for high-load applications.

Impact: This led to a Load Average of 30.0 during basic cPanel migrations and daily backups.

3. Poor Support & Refund Hurdles: When I realized the hardware couldn't handle a modern stack, I requested a cancellation. Instead of a professional exit, I was met with more "escalations" and "orange traffic lights." I had to move 69 sites back to my old provider where a simple VPS with NVMe Gen4 storage instantly delivered 1.2 GB/s speeds and reduced my load to 1.5.

Verdict: If you are running high-traffic WordPress or WooCommerce sites or need modern NVMe performance, avoid Liquid Web’s legacy Bare Metal. Their technology hasn't kept up with the industry, and their support is a shadow of what it used to be.

They restored a backup from my website even though I explicitly asked them to restore it on a clone server, since my main server is currently in production.

Instead, they restored it directly on my production server withouth permission. They did not create a new cloned server as requested for testing. As a result, all my orders were lost, meaning all customers who placed orders on my site during that time had their data completely erased.

Please seriously stay away. Their support team will mess up your server. This is not the first time something like this has happened. Their response time is extremely long. They claim to offer 24/7 live chat, but it’s likely run by inexperienced developers who do nothing except waste your time and send repetitive, useless replies in live chat with very limited server knowledge.

We sincerely apologize for this lapse in process and communication. As acknowledgment of this mistake, we’ve already applied a one-month MRC credit to your account and reached out directly to explain the situation and next steps.

We understand how serious data integrity and response expectations are, and we regret that this experience did not meet the standard you expect or the one we aim to deliver. Outstanding Magento support and clear root-cause diagnosis

I had an excellent experience with Liquid Web / Nexcess support while dealing with a complex Magento checkout issue.

The team took real ownership of the problem, communicated clearly at every step, and methodically worked through both the hosting environment and application behavior. What stood out most was the ability to identify the true root cause — a JavaScript loading conflict involving Cloudflare — and explain it in a way that actually made sense.

They didn’t rush, didn’t guess, and didn’t push unnecessary changes. Instead, they focused on stability, accuracy, and making sure the site was truly fixed before closing the case. The cleanup and staging work was handled carefully, and the checkout is now solid and predictable.

This was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely expert-level Magento support. Very much appreciated.

Managed hosting? Nope, constant failure because of lack of management

We've been struggling for months with aggressive Bot activity which has led to DoS conditions - LW provides little or no protection.

LW hasn't set appropriate policies for log management so the 200GB in logs created by Bots then crashed our websites.

And after that the excessive session files caused by Bots crashed our websites.

Despite being 'managed' hosting, LW takes responsibility for nothing. They couldn't care less about the losses caused to my eCommerce business.

After a deeper review, our team identified that the core issue stemmed from PHP session files being written to custom application-defined directories. Because these paths fell outside cPanel’s default session cleanup mechanism, session files were not being removed as expected and accumulated into the millions under heavy automated traffic. This behavior was not previously visible at the global PHP level and required a more targeted configuration review.

We’ve since updated the PHP configuration to ensure session cleanup now runs correctly for those custom paths. In addition, we proactively configured log rotation to prevent application logs from growing beyond safe limits, ensuring they are capped and rotated automatically going forward.

Since these changes were implemented, the server has remained stable, disk usage is normal, and no further issues with sessions or logs have been reported. We’ll continue monitoring closely and can fine-tune session handling further if needed to balance cleanup frequency and user experience.

We recognize that expectations around managed hosting include proactive stability and protection, and we regret the frustration this situation caused your business. While some application-specific behaviors require deeper investigation to surface, we’ve now addressed the root causes and put safeguards in place to prevent recurrence.
