The service was excellent, starting right at the reception desk, where the young woman’s assistance was wonderful; she explained everything clearly and answered the few questions we had. The car was impeccable—practically new. The excellent service and helpful attitude of the person who handed over the car are also worth highlighting.

I tried to fill the car at two…
I tried to fill the car at two different gas stations multiple times
There was a language barrier I tried to overcome and I also got help from a local. My card was not accepted for whatever reason
I tried and tried and was still charged the refueling fee which I feel was very unfair

Regarding the extra charge, our Full-to-Full fuel policy requires a refueling service fee in addition to the cost of the missing fuel whenever a vehicle is returned without a full tank, as outlined in our Terms and Conditions on locautorent.com.
To help customers avoid these time-consuming situations and unexpected costs, we also offer a prepaid full tank option that can be purchased directly when signing the rental agreement.

Car from Florence and return to Bologna
Locauto staff in Florence were really helpful and picking up the car was really smooth and nice experience.
Returning the car on Bologna were fast, but we were not sure was everything ok. or should we still go to office. This was because man who took our returned car did not speak english and was not that interested to customer service.

Bad pick up and drop off
Our trip was from Florence to Rome. Pick up took 1h because there was only 1 person in the Florence office and 10 people picking up at the same time. Instructions for drop off were unclear and when we arrived there was no one to receive the car in the parking lot. We ended up taking the keys to the Rome office where they told us that we should have left them with the employee that wasn’t in the parking lot. The office employee was kind of mad that we didn’t leave the keys in the parking lot when there was no one there and he blamed it on us instead of giving a solution. Then they told us they would confirm car reception and checks within the hour but they haven’t done that yet. Car was good.

Italian Road Trip
The lady at the office was extremely helpful and very friendly and when we returned the car the gentleman at the garage was extremely polite and friendly. The only negative thing was when we went to the garage to pick up the car one of the men was very pushy and was hurrying us to leave - we were trying to make sure the gps was set up correctly and everything before we hit the road in a foreign city and country.
