The staff was amazing and made everything seamless!

Easy collection and return process, car is very clean and new

Easy rental and great car. I recommend doing early checking to avoid lines at the airport and just go directly to parking to pickup the car. Very smooth process.

After less than 100 km on our 2026 Skoda Fabia with 15.000 km a yellow "Check oil level" sign appeared. I checked the oil level myself and found that it was well below the recommended minimum level, barely reaching the tip of the dipstick and nowhere near the marked measuring range.

We contacted the roadside assistance service multiple times. On almost every occasion, we had to wait more than 45 minutes for our calls to be answered (when they were answered at all). Different assistance agencies handled our calls and suggested solutions, all of which were dangerous and inadequate, while on some occasions no solution was suggested at all.

During one of the calls, we were advised to continue driving until the warning light turned red, and only then call for a tow truck. I wonder who would have been responsible if we had damaged the engine as a result.

On another call, they asked for my contact details and said they would call me back with a solution. However, they never did.

On another call, we were told that they could not do anything and that we should call a tow truck to take the car to a workshop.

During yet another call, we were told to stop at a petrol station and put any type of oil in the car. Once again, I wonder who would have been responsible if this had caused damage to the engine.

I eventually had to consult the car's maintenance manual myself to find out that the correct oil was 0W30 with the required VW specification, and then independently search around Agrigento for a shop selling that type of oil, which we had to pay for ourselves.

The whole process ended up costing us half a day of our holiday and forcing us to change our travel plans.

We consider the assistance provided to have been inconsistent and deplorable. From that point onwards, we realised that if any other problems occurred with the car, or if we had an accident, it would be very difficult to obtain effective assistance. We spent the rest of our holiday feeling worried and lacking confidence in our means of transport.

This occurrence also makes us question the quality and care with which Locauto's vehicles are maintained. Further supporting this concern, the car was handed over to us with biscuit wrappers in the door storage compartments and what appeared to be a dried drop of mucus or phlegm on the steering wheel.

The only positive aspect was the staff who handled the collection and return of the car at the airport.

After returning the car in perfect condition with a full tank, they charged me an extra 153 euros, and no one ever answers the phone.

I have problems with the car and need to change it in two oportunities I lost one day of my holidays and spend 400 euros in hotel and taxi
Every time it was difficult to deal with Locauto people but the worst was and the end in Palermo airport because they charge additional cost that was not my fault

Car rental was nice and easy. No issues with the car. Likely would rent here again. Communication via english was easy. Booked the car rental external with external insurance.
Only point to keep in mind: they include the tolerance return time already.

Landed in Palermo and my rental company did not have a car. Locauto was there to save me. They processed everything quickly with a suitable car and we were on our way! We also saved money!
