In spite of having to alter our pick up location and thus requiring a completely new booking, the agent in Palermo worked to offer a similar pricing with an extra day. They made the check out easy and offered free on site parking in downtown Palermo - a huge bonus. The car was spacious and well appointed. Appropriate for the narrow streets in Palermo, Marsala and Trapani.

Smooth pickup and drop off (pick up at Palermo Notarbartolo and dropped at Catania Airport), the Fiat Panda worked perfectly and we got the best price. All good.

I booked a few weeks in advance via Booking.com, with the extended warranty, and Locauto handled the rest really well.

I had booking for Volkswagen T-Rock. I allso paid extra for thay model. I am tall guy and VAG konsern cars are good for tall peopple. And allso those are good cars for drive.
I got Ford Puma and the car was terribble to drive and ergonomy was very very bad for me!!! They had 2VW T-Rocks on the parking place (Palermo City), but the guy in office sayed that I will get the Ford, even I told coupple of times I should have VW!!!
I am very very dissapointed and I am going to tell all my traveling friends, that they never should use Locauto!!!

Car was clean and very good condition. Pickup was easy. Airport drop off was difficult because google maps had the wrong location. I fixed that. Beware that driving in Palermo requires a daily toll and getting one is kafkaesque.

The gentleman at Palermo office was a life saver, very helpful, beautiful soul. And nothing was an issue, and very comforting. I will definitely hire again, due to him!!

Car pick-up and return were quick, helpful, and good service.

It took well over an hour at Palermo to get my prebooked (and very expensive) car, queuing and waiting in the terminal and then again out in the parking compound.
I had booked a small SUV (VW TCross) knowing that the roads near where I was staying would be poor quality.
I was given, despite trying to decline it, a tired Peugeot 308 with 12,000kms on the clock, being told it was an 'upgrade' - which it absolutely wasn't.
During my holiday, I hit a pothole and punctured a front tyre, which I had professionally replaced by a local tyre company - replacing a Pirelli tyre with a Michelin one.
When I returned the car, I was told that it was "illegal" to have different tyre brands on the same axle and that the Michelin tyre, that I had paid 155 euros for, would have to be replaced with a Pirelli one, for which Locauto would charge me 310 euros. I told them that it was not illegal at all - I don't believe it is anywhere in Europe or the UK or the USA (ChatGPT confirms) and that if they tried to charge me I would challenge it.
2 days after I returned the charge appeared on my card, and having raised a complaint with 'customer service' I was told that the charge would remain.
I am still fighting it.

2 day rental, easy pick up and drop off, no hassle. Car in good condition.

I believe Locauto is the most straightforward car renting company. No hidden fees, friendly staff and good rates.
