I ordered 2 rings and a pair of earrings 3 weeks ago. They never said it was coming from China. Had I known, I never would have ordered them. After reading a lot of negative reviews, I reached out to... See more

Finally arrived. Cheap crap, wrong colors, and they’ve been deaf to appeals. They should be ashamed. I really liked the pictured design, but reality is flimsy, undersized cheat metal and plastic.
Saw a Facebook ad stating they were an American company (their exact words); they are not! They sent a tracking link that is fraudulent. There was no origin location or actual freight logistics prov... See more
Just spent several hours trying to get all the documents needed to return two orders. Bottom line: it is very expensive over $150- $175 to return 10 items that weigh 1.5 lbs Received est from USPS.... See more
They credited but sent some items anyway
I’ve written before but now I’m really wondering about this company!!!
I placed a second order and got bad feelings and cancelled it immediately. I called the company I put the charge thru on and made sure it wasn’t going thru. A credit was already being issued.
Mary’s Gems acknowledged they were sending thru a credit.
Then I continued to receive texts my items were being sent.
I finally received them. Not exactly what I had ordered but some of them were right. Again, like last time, some looked very good, some looked like costume jewelry, and some I would return.
Again they came from the same delivery service as the last pkg and from the same address - a suburb in Dallas. I am so tempted to go there. I googled it and it’s just a line of warehouses so it’s probably where they have their shipments from China go and they are separated and packaged for shipping there.
Oh, not as nicely packed as last time. Last time each item was in a Mary’s Gems box. This time one box had all 5 items crammed into it.
Deceptive Advertising- Scam website!
This is deceptive advertising at its best resulting in a scam. The items received are of cheap quality and bear a passing resemblance to what is advertised on the site. Buyer beware - don’t waste your money! There’s no way to return the crap and receive a refund!
I would give them 0 stars if possible
I would give them 0 stars if possible. The items are very cheap and cheaply made--prob from China. Not at all from a craftswoman "going out of business." I contacted them to return items, but did not receive a response about that.
Blackfishing for profit
So, sure enough, I have been scammed and I believe all of the so-called good reviews are posted by the company behind Mary’s Gems. I don’t appreciate this company using “blackfishing” to attract buyers. If you’re a Chinese company who uses an African American woman’s image to do business, you are unprincipled. I suspected that the image was AI, but I wondered if maybe she’d just touched up photo. Whomever is behind Mary’s Gems is deceitful, without integrity, and a scammer. Is this really the impression that you want to leave with American buyers about Chinese products? Poor quality, fakes, over-priced for what you’re getting, and untrustworthy. Lesson learned - stop ordering clothing and jewelry off of Instagram. I will say I’ve had good luck with health and wellness products and books.
Buyer Beware..Do Not Purchase
Do not purchase from this “company”, it is fraudulent. It is not located in New York but rather outside of the US possibly China. The products I received are of extremely poor quality and do not match the pictures on the website including actual sizes which look like they are intended for a child. One ring was already turning colors inside the packaging. Customer Service is also not truthful about the representation of the product on the website. I don't typically purchase from websites promoted via Instagram for this very reason.and will never do it again.
I am very disappointed with the quality…
I am very disappointed with the quality of my purchases.. the photos of the three rings I ordered looked as if the work was sterling silver, gold, and gems; but when they arrived it was clear that they were cheap metals. Just to be sure I tried oxidizing the two”silver” rings and they stayed the same fake silver… DON’T TRUST THE SITE!!
Quality didn’t match photos
Quality didn’t match photos. You could buy equivalent merchandise for about 10% of the price in a cheap costume jewelry store at the mall.
Mary's Gems is a SCAM!!
I ordered a ring pictured on their website. I was sent a different ring. When I contacted customer support they responded that they can "confirm" that the item I received is the item I ordered (this, in spite of the fact that I sent them a picture of what I ordered, directly off their website, and a picture of the ring I received which is clearly not the same). This company is a scam! The website says the jewelry is handcrafted by Mary in her studio in Mattituck, NY. There is no Mary, and no studio in Mattituck. The cheap jewelry comes from China. Looks like something from a dollar store!
Nothing in picture indicates this bracelet is child-size
I purchased a twisty gold wire and white opal bracelet, and yes it arrived and yes it looks like its picture -- perfect for a seven-year-old or miniature human. No adult woman could get this on her wrist -- it's tiny and of course doesn't expand. Nothing in the description indicates it's for a child. Now I have to see if I can get my money back...
The website is FRAUD
The website is FRAUD! Don’t buy it and when you get the link to track your order, you see that it’s coming from CHINA. These people are FRAUDULENT and uncaring. I cannot believe I fell for it. I’m just happy that I saw this website where they had more negative ratings that they have positive. ONCE AGAIN, THIS IS A FRAUDULENT CHINESE WEBSITE .
Jewelry is low fashion junk.
Bought two pairs of earrings on her “going out of business sale” …50 % off.
I still paid 75 dollars for this stuff..can’t believe that the original stuff is priced at more than 100 dollars.
Each came squashed in a small box ..both pairs have bent posts which I hesitate to fix being afraid the posts will snap off. One pair isn’t too bad from a surface glance …we shall see though. The other pair is pure junk…you’ll find better at Walmart.
Disregard any positive reviews and I say stay away..waste of money. Cheap stuff delivered from China.
Beware!!
Beware!!! Mary’s Gems is a scam and needs to be shut down. Jewelry is cheap junk shipped from China. The ring’s “gold” coating started coming off after just a few days of wear. Their website makes it appear they are located in New York but the items come from China and if you try to return you need to ship back to China.
FRAUDULENT/CHEAP COSTUME JEWELRY!!!!
So as everyone else has said, Mary's gems, Helen's gems, Mary's handbags, these are all fraudulent websites. They deliver an inferior product than what is depicted online. BE WARY of ANY website that says it's going out of business and has a lovely older woman on the splash page saying she has handmade all of these items!!!! The quality of the rings I ordered from Mary's gems were cheap costume jewelry from China, which is where they shipped from and if you want to RETURN, you have to pay for shipping/tracking to China, which is NOT CHEAP.
This website is definitely a scam
This website is definitely a scam. The jewelry I got was all plastic/fake stones. The metals feel strange, not like silver. Also strange that I have been sent a different website called "Helen's gems" where the person on the website looks like the same woman--obviously the same jewelry. Also, when I investigated further, the jewelry is not made in New Hampshire but the shipping orininated in China.
If I could go lower than 1 I would
If I could go lower than 1 I would. Horrible quality, junk jewelry, and quality prices (truly cheap crap, don't be fooled by the photos on the site) slow and unresponsive "customer service" their phone number is disconnected and return policy is as clear as mud. I am worried I will not get my credit card refunded they are so unresponsive. Shame on me for falling for this scam, but I will report them to Facebook and my bank if I don't get my money back. What a colossal waste of time and money this transaction has been.
Dishonest, But Not a Total Scam
While I believe "Mary's Gems" is a front for a business working out of China and not Mary, a jeweller unloading her inventory as the website suggests, the jewelry is of reasonably acceptable quality. I ordered a ring and a ring set and they largely resembled the photograph on the website although the metal is clearly not real gold. I had originally disputed the credit charge but when I received the product I let the charges go through as I roughly received what I had been promised. The company does not, however, observe the 24 hour cancellation period. I cancelled within 24 hours and then received an e-mail saying the cancellation period was 12 hours -- even when I sent them a print out of their own website's 24 hour policy! For this reason alone I would not do business with them again, but I cannot say they are completely fraudulent.
Poor quality
Poor quality. Hoop earrings are completely useless because I can't open the clasp. Mixed metal (look) ring was completely devoid of finish after 5 gentle wears. Customer service phone number doesn't work. This seems to be a scam.
Buyer beware: Mary’s gems is a scam.
Don’t be fooled by five-star reviews on this web page. Mary’s Gems is a fraudulent business. The jewelry is junk. I ordered three pair of earrings for a total of $100, and received only one pair. They aren't wearable because the piece that is supposed to go through your ear is welded on instead of being hinged, so it doesn’t move. Whoever owns this criminal “business” is very devious. They send very polite, well written notes apologizing for non-delivery and defects, promising to correct the problem, but they do not follow up. There is no Mary, and the jeweler is crap, and the five star reviews are fake.
My fiancé bought me a bracelet from…
My fiancé bought me a bracelet from Mary’s Gems, and I’m absolutely in love with it. The design is so chic and modern, and it complements my other jewelry perfectly. I’ve worn it every day since I got it, and it still looks as good as new. I can’t wait to see what he picks for our wedding day!
