impressed for a "budget" VPS server
for a "budget" VPS server, I am impressed by their support and resources offered. Managed to wedge my VPS, created a ticket for forced reboot, and it was attended to in under 30mins. This is on the lowest end "budget" tier.
Sabrina at support was able to provide valuable insight as to what happened and ensured my VPS was up and running very quickly.
I searched high and low for lower prices, and have not found any. Responsive support, low prices, and great value for the money.
A waste of time
They cancelled my domain registration order immediately after pre-authorising payment on my credit card. No good reason given but seemed to blame me in their automated email. Raising a support ticket was complex, they took two days to respond. The response was unhelpful and unapologetic.

Just don't even think about getting any other hosts, get OVH
There’s a reason why many large Minecraft servers and anti-DDoS infrastructures rely on OVH, it’s simply one of the most reliable providers out there.I’ve used several hosting companies for a Minecraft server I develop on. With Hetzner, we had to pay an additional $50 for an external anti-DDoS provider. With Server.net, we paid an extra $30/month for their always-on DDoS protection, yet it couldn’t even handle 2 Gbps attacks. After switching to OVH, everything just works. The ping is low, the stability is the best I’ve experienced, and the built-in anti-DDoS protection feels truly premium. This is exactly why big MC servers, like DonutSMP anti-DDoS setups are based on OVH.
Their service is completely unreliable and they take zero responsibility for it.
I’ve been using OVH since early 2025, renting a dedicated server for $64/month. At the beginning of this year, my server suddenly became inaccessible. I reported the issue immediately, and their response was to replace both hard drives and then casually tell me the job was “done”.
Seriously? A server that’s barely a year old, configured with RAID for data safety, and somehow both drives fail at the same time? As a result, all of my data is gone — permanently — with absolutely no way to recover it.
What’s even worse: no proper report, no clear explanation, no apology, and absolutely no accountability or solution from their side.
Now I’m left with an empty, useless server — and of course, they’re still happily charging me every month as if nothing ever happened :)

The order page shows "payment failed", but the amount has already been deducted from my bank account.

Incorrect support & broken commitments
The service itself is reliable, but their support is another story entirely.
OVHcloud made a written commitment to renew my VPS servers at the legacy rate weeks before the April 1st (2026) price increase. When I asked how to renew multiple servers, their instructions were incorrect. I attempted to do so myself many times, but their system was already charging the future price before the increase was even in effect!!
Forced to reach out via live chat on the last day due to no replies to my support tickets, their only response was a single payment link for one server at the future rate for a longer term with no discount. They blamed their own system while acknowledging their original promise was real. They finally replied to my support request after charging my card for the updated price.. on April 1st, to say 'it's too late now.' Duh!
This is not an isolated incident.
Their support articles frequently do not match their actual system. Links often point to wrong regional subdomains. Billing inquiries are treated as low priority and while problems are acknowledged, nothing is done to correct them. You won't get actual support unless you pay them a lot of additional money. You need to have advanced skills to host with OVH because they will not help you.
Even here, OVH replied and I provided my account information, and nothing was done.
OVH could easily be in the top three hosts of the world but their respect towards customers stinks. As you read other reviews, consider that at the time that I wrote this review, nearly half of their 6600 reviews are critical of their practices.
Edit: May 1, 2026. OVH reached out to me and made things right. Changed 2 stars to 3 stars.

OVH took my money I will be raising it…
OVH took my money I will be raising it with paypal and they didn't provide any services. Their reason is due to fraud apparently yet there was none so it's bullshit to say the least.

Good service and support.
Being a client for multiple years, I rarely had any issues. Recently sent 2 tickets regarding two different, but related, issues and both of them were treated in a very professional matter.
Not only did they call me by phone to try and understand better my problem (ticket CS15383270 wich was resolved after that call), they also considered and accepted my request regarding my contratual commitment after migrating servers (ticket CS15383312).
So far I'm happy with the quality of service and support.

OVH from good to bad and worse
OVH used to be one of the better service provider for dedicated servers until now. They took away the live support and replace it with a useless AI which doesn't help with anything at all. You open a ticket but nobody responds because they will label it as the lowest priority when to you it's the most urgent task on hand. Now, they are disallowing you to cancel the service just few days before the renewal with an error message when cancelling:

Any platform service provider who is more unscrupulous than that?

A month for a refund !!!
Paid 110 pound for a vps they wanted me to wait 2 days for and for me to supply my id before setting up. This is a joke of a company . There are hosting company's put there that are instant setup. I have now requested a refund and i bet i wont get my refund. Ive not even had the server when they asked for my id and 2 days wait. Update they have now told me i need to wait a month for a refund.

They have been having on going issues…
They have been having on going issues with not being able to see the prices of servers before purchasing a server. Resulting in purchasing the server in the wrong location. They cancelled that server and refused to refund it after it had only been used for less than a minute. Then refused to respond to any support ticket on the issue

OVH: Affordable hosting with excellent service
Two years ago, I successfully switched to OVH because my two domains were hosted by a provider that had become very expensive. With OVH, I now have three domains for just a third of the price I paid with my previous provider. Setting up and transferring my domains also went very smoothly. During this year’s renewal, there was a glitch with the payment, but the support team resolved it quickly. I can definitely recommend OVH as a hosting provider; the interface for managing domain and email configurations is also user-friendly.

I've been working with OVH for over 15 years. I have quite a few services with them, including over a dozen powerful bare metal servers. During this time, I've had the opportunity to use OVH support many times. And I've never been disappointed. Highly recommended.

Lost money due to misleading support advice
I’ve had a very disappointing experience with OVHcloud, and I feel like I’ve been treated unfairly as a customer.
I originally purchased a VPS plan for €86 with about 9 months remaining. By mistake, I upgraded it to a higher plan (€131). Realizing my error, I contacted support immediately. They told me I could simply cancel the order to undo the upgrade.
Following their instructions turned out to be a costly mistake.
After cancelling:
I only received a refund for the €131 upgrade (and even that hasn’t properly reached me yet),
My original VPS plan was cancelled,
I lost most of the remaining value of my initial €86 payment (around 75%),
My service was reinstated as the upgraded VPS instead, now costing €250.
So now I’m being asked to pay €250 for a service I never intended to keep, while:
I don’t have access to my original plan anymore,
I haven’t received all refunds,
And I risk losing all my data because I can’t afford this unexpected cost.
What’s most frustrating is that this situation happened because I followed support’s instructions. At no point was I warned that cancelling the upgrade would also cancel my original plan or cause me to lose its remaining value.
If this had been clearly explained, I would have never cancelled the upgrade and would have just worked around my mistake.
Support has since escalated the issue, but so far there is no resolution, and I’m left out of pocket and without a usable service.
This experience feels extremely misleading and poorly handled. I strongly advise others to be very careful when making changes to their services, and to double-check everything. Even when following support guidance.
