Do not touch this company with a bargepole! £0.49p to convert a PDF file became £201.60 before I picked up on the scam. Attempts to contact via telephone, e-mail not working and attempt to reset password unuseable.

Avoid!!

Avoid!!! These people have asked me to leave a review. I am happy to do so. I was surprised to get a refund as I was under the impression that they were running a ‘scam’. I can tell from the other reviews that they basically deceive to get a sign up monthly payment of £28.80. I was under the impression that I was paying £0.49 to convert one file to PDF. However, what they claim is that we have signed
up for 48 hrs and as we didn’t cancel it rolls over to monthly at £28.80. Their system only converted one page of a 3 page document anyway which was completely useless! It’s only when you see £28.80 taken from your bank account that you start to see what they are doing. On enquiry they send a ‘screen shot’ of a page which I don’t even remember seeing saying you have to cancel within 48 hrs or it rolls over to a monthly subscription of £28.80. I think most people aren’t aware that there is this ‘48 hr to monthly rollover in place’. I would suggest that most people aren’t aware that they need to cancel as they think they have paid for 1 doc and are then aghast to find out that these people claim they have signed up for a monthly rollover as they didn’t cancel within 48 hrs. It appears to me that the way the sign up process operates, it is deliberately designed to take a monthly sub of £28.80 and then hope a refund isn’t requested.

Best to avoid this ‘scam’!

Scamming cancer patient out of their last bit of money

I also thought that I was paying a one off charge to convert a document. I then had £28 taken out of my bank yesterday. Who would need to pay a subscription to convert documents except a business? Their website is set up so you just see instructions to upload a document, why would you scroll down when the upload button is right there in front of you?? You then get charged 58p and think that’s not bad as a one off charge. I explained to the pdf centre that I am currently off work with cancer and my statutory sick pay ended in June so my only income is benefits. I said that I would not have enough money to put on my heating or buy basic items now they have taken that money and would they please refund me? They said no each to each of the three emails that I sent them saying each time that I should appreciate that they have got costs. Who reads the receipt of a 50p transaction? I don’t know how they can refund others and not me in my circumstances, utterly cruel and heartless.

FRAUD

FRAUD. they have taken £28 out my account due to the small print that they put on their pdf documents stating that once u buy one u get a subscription for the month. I wanted to convert a pdf to a word document. I paid .49p which I thought was a good deal. The word document did not convert properly so it was just .49p which was not an issue. But for them to then take £28.80 from my bank is not on. Be careful it’s a scam

You will be subscribed and charged GBP 28.80 and you won’t know it.

I used pdfcenter.io online service 2 days ago when I needed to convert a .jpeg to a .pdf file in a hurry - all whilst I was literally ‘on the road’.
I was surprised to see it wasn’t free: however, I was in a hurry and happy to pay 0.49p. I put in my card details, a link to my pdf was made available via email, I saved it, and was happy.
However, today, my debit card issuer sent me a text notification to say pdfcenter.io had debited GBP 28.80 from my account! I checked my issuers rules regarding unauthorised debits and was instructed to contact the merchant for a refund in the first instance. I visited the pdfcenter.io website and ‘Contact us’ and submitted a request asking them to refund my money promptly as it was unauthorised. An automated email has been received to say they will contact me within 72 hours.

Having now checked this merchant out in Trustpilot I can see that lots of people like me have unknowingly been SUBSCRIBED to pdfcenter.io.
I can see that other people have received refunds and - I hope - I will too. But, I cannot Unsubscribe to a service that I have not subscribed to (and I don’t want to create an account). They had better not debit me again next month. If my card issuer did not send me alerts for every debit this charge of £28.80 would hot have been detected.
This merchant needs to either change their policy or become much more honest from the start.

Be careful you do not subscribe in error

Be very careful. Even if you do not click on the sign me up link they automatically subscribe you and you have to cancel the subscription they take. They debited my card by £28.80 they were however helpful when I notified them and promised to return the money as a gesture of goodwill.

Also at a later date had reason to speak to customer services, above and beyond what was expected, what nice people, a refreshing change!
