Despite the sandals being really comfy for long periods standing (like at a music festival) and my legs and back didn’t get so tired, the soles crumbled away. I pinched my mum’s ones as she hadn’t bee... See more

MBT® (MasaiBarefootTechnology) was established in 1996, when we discovered that natural instability has incredible health benefits. We discovered this while observing the extraordinarily agile Masai community walk barefoot on natural and uneven terrain. Seeing this community in action made us realise that the human body just isn’t designed to walk or stand on the flat, hard surfaces which surround us in modern society. We therefore decided to develop a new style of footwear that imitates the process of walking on soft and uneven terrain. The results have been both incredible and revolutionary. Today, MBT® footwear is sold in more than 35 countries around the world, and happy users have confirmed that wearing MBT® footwear has notably increased their wellbeing.

How in the world do you offer a 2 year…
How in the world do you offer a 2 year warranty on a shoe ? Any single problem is always attributed to "normal wear and tear" and the blame is always pointed to the customer. These asshats never ever replace a pair of shoes and it's just a marketing scheme.
Used to be a sturdy and durable…
Used to be a sturdy and durable footwear, now they fall apart after a few weeks of use.
My shoes were still under the two year warranty. As a matter of fact, I had used them for less than 8 weeks. So I contacted Customer Service, who asked for pictures of the damage and “after review” (🤣🤣🤣) said they cannot replace them because “It’S NoT a MaNUfActURe iSsUe”, and gave a discount code instead.
As if I’m EVER going to waste my money on this scam again!
They will NEVER admit it’s their fault and yet they fail to see that the majority of people are leaving bad reviews. They just keep answering with the same copied and pasted comment, it’s a miracle they’re still running business.
Don’t buy.
This company doesn't deserve your money

Buy vintage, not new!
I love my mbts but in common with other customers am disappointed that new ones fall apart the first time you wear them. Old ones lasted for a couple of years even when being worn for nursing. Forget the excuse about weather conditions, my new ones didn't even make it out of the house, I left a trail of crumbling foam behind me and as I stepped over the threshold one of the soles came off altogether! I don't want an apology, an acknowledgement there is a manufacturing issue that is being addressed would be a start!

I have always been an advocate of MBT…
I have always been an advocate of MBT trainers, but in recent years there has been a significant decline in quality. They do not last as long as they used to. In fact I am still wearing a pair that I bought more than 5 years ago and the heel is still rock solid, whereas more recent purchases seem to have been manufactured with some kind of foam that splits and breaks - in fact you can pierce it with a fingernail - I can't do that with my older pairs. MBT does not address this in any of the responses on this site and falling back on 2 yr warranty, returns policy does not address the underlying issue that the product quality has declined and it is therefore not worth purchasing until MBT get their act together.

DO NOT BUY -Poor quality MBT shoes, not as described,Bad customer service
Awful service, poor quality MBT shoes, website says UK, returns to be sent to Spain.
I ordered a pair of MBT white shoes where the size is small for a 4 which is what I usually order as I’ve been wearing MBT shoes for 17 years. There’s no rock, just a normal pair of trainers. The site says MBT UK. I had to return the shoes due to the poor quality, bad sizing and no rock as MBT shoes should be.
Almost 3 weeks on I have sent them the certificate of posting and they keep asking for a tracking no.
If I had to pay for international track it would be £25 and the shoes are £107.
It’s absolutely ridiculous that I should have to pay so much for postage as if it was a return within the UK they are mostly free.
Why advertise as MBT UK when it should say MBT Spain. I would have known not to have ordered the shoes if it was coming from Spain in case I needed to return.
They keep going on and on asking for a tracking number when I keep repeatedly saying it was posted by normal mail due to the high postage as it would have cost me 25 percent off the price of the shoes just to return an item.
This will be the last time I order from the MBT site. Please do not buy from MBT as they are a nightmare to deal with and will do anything not to refund once
They have received the goods back.
Absolute thieves. Buy MBT on Amazon if you’ll have to as there’s no problem retuning anything on Amazon.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND- Tamara order no 5000012973

The original Swiss MBT shoes were…
The original Swiss MBT shoes were great. They were well made, comfortable and lasted. Now their shoes are made in China and the quality is very poor. They wear out very quickly, most commonly the sole separates from the upper portion. MBT USA is the only vendor in North America. Shopping from Canada makes these already pricey shoes even more so when exchange and shipping are factored in. Given how many pair of MBTs I own I hardly expect them to be garbage after 2 years of light wear. BTW my mother has had exactly the same experience.

Internal systems
My wife has worn MBT shoes for years and had no problems. I ordered a pair of trainers and was told that the quality of the shoe did not come up to MTB's standards for that style. I received the refund about 6 days later. I was quite impressed with this action and ordered another pair of 6.5 trainers. The paperwork for the order confirmed a 6.5 size. When the trainers arrived , both the shoe and the accompanying paperwork were for a size 6.
I have now made contact at least 4 times requesting a return label, as I believe as the error is theirs why should I pay for return postage. Due to the lack of response from MBT (and concerned that if not returned on time that I would lose £109), I have now paid £17 to return the trainers.
Be aware that the address for the returns is not the adress on the invoice, e-mail or despatch note. Royal Mail's partner in Spain tried to deliver to that address and had to take the package away. However, I again contacted MBT (GB) based in Spain, and a very helpful lady in customer service (Sofia) has now located the returned package and will action the return.
However, the wrong size was sent and a number of e-mails were unanswered. As I have not be able to review the trainers, this review is based on my experience with the administration of the business.
My wife does like the shoes, but on this occassion has not have the opportunity to try them.

UTTER CRAP - DO NOT BUY.
My brand new MBT sandals...soles have disintegrated after only being worn 3 times for short periods of time.(No, I don't weigh a tonne!) I couldn't believe my eyes, I thought 'floor cleaner' but it's definitely not that. To say I am absolutely livid, never mind the disappointment would be a gross understatement. UPDATE: I quickly received a response from MBT Europe which was encouraging, they suggested I email MBT UK; however after several days I have heard nothing at all from them.

MBT Geneva -not fulfilling MBT warranty
MBT Geneva
I bought a pair of MBT walking shoes in the Geneva store (329chf). They really helped me with the Plantar fasciitis. Unfortunately, they did not last 10 months (wearing max 1-2 hours per day) as the material at the back of the shoe disintegrated and now rubs my ankles giving blisters. The shop was very unhelpful. Did I see someone mention that they should be covered by a 2-year warranty??
Update to this. After MBT advised below that my warranty was still valid, I have contacted the MBT shop in Geneva twice with pictures and receipt and they have not responded. Very disappointing.

Very sad to see MBT quality drop so drastically.
I've had half a dozen pairs of MBTs over the years. Early ones lasted me a couple of years and many miles before I wore through the soles.
But the last 2 pairs I bought disintegrated inside the sole long before any wear was visible and after only a few hours of wear.
The first time it happened, I wrote it off as a duff pair/old stock. But now my latest pair have done the same, I have to admit that MBTs are now basically rubbish.

Avoid at all costs !
After spending a lot of money on these, and wore about 30 times, the whole of the sole come off and all the foam inside the heal disintigrated and fell apart and was crumbling away. It looks like the inside is made of some sort of memory foam . I have had many trainers in the past, and many have lasted me 15 years, even have vintage ones. But these are the worst and only lasted 2 years 5 months !!

UK returns have to be sent to Spain
I bought from the MBT UK site. It said that you had to pay for returns, but be aware that the return has to be to Spain, which I did not realise, as it clearly said ‘MBT UK’. It cost me almost £20 to return a pair of shoes, and I also had to fill in customs forms. I will never use this company again.
Update: the item was sent back several weeks ago, and I have still not received a refund.

Disappointed!
My sister bought MBT's years ago in the UK and hardly worn them. Yesterday she decided to use them again, came home with wet socks and the sole had completely fallen off! As she lives in Germany, I contacted customer service in the UK for her as the German Customer Service couldn't help as they were bought in the UK!
Customer Service here only asked for proof of purchase and as warranty (obviously) had run out they couldn't help either.
I know the shoes are old but still, the sole shouldn't come off! Obviously, there is a problem with the manufacturer.

MBTs used to be great, but are now rubbish
MBTs used to be great, and really helped me with back, knee and hip pain. Now they are absolutely useless. As others have noted - the soles just crumble into nothing with minimal wear. Or rather the bit between the actual sole and the shoe that has all the MBT technology in.
Funny how the versions I had from 10 years ago lasted for years before the sole wore through at about the time the upper was falling apart (I used them a lot), but anything bought in the last 5-6 years just falls apart with hardly any sign of wear on the sole that touches the ground. Interestingly this drop in quality came at about the time it became possible to buy MBTs in sales and special offers, rather than always having to pay full price for a very high quality product.
I would have to say do not buy them any more - my last 3 pairs have fell apart with the same problem. I won't waste any more money on this rubbish.
I am finding it impossible to get a…
Update: I received a reply and an apology for being late, it was my first time dealing with them so now I'm happy enough. As for MBT, they are the only shoes I can stand in and walk in, they did change production some years back which caused problems in sizing and lost some of their really great models but for those of us who literally have regained the ability to walk in them they are necessary.
old review: I am finding it impossible to get a reply from customer service to return the shoes that are too small, the Hodari 6.5 are smaller than the Mens Sport 3 same size 6.5, they cannot be worn and I'm unable to get any acknowledgement for a number or address to return them to. Then I see so many people with a terrible experience it has me very worried.
Unhappy with Customer Service
I ordered MBT shoes from the official website for the UK to be delivered from MASAI BAREFOOT TECHNOLOGY SPAIN, SL
Address: 275 Aribau Street
08021 Barcelona Spain.
The shoes are a bit tight and so I want to exchange for a bigger size.
I have emailed the customer services several times and also send messages via their website requesting a Return Authorisation Number (I cant return without this) and nobody has got back to me so far. There is no phone number to contact them on their website so i can't call them. So I am giving the customer service 1 star and would appreciate any advise from anybody who has had the same experience.
Avoid at all costs
I had to give one star because you cannot give zero. The information about sizes on their web page is all out of date. They seem to have changed all the sizes but do not want to inform the customers. If you try to exchange the shoes and the model you have bought is not available in the size you need you have to accept any other model.

IT'S the first time I get some shoes on the internet. I am not an internet shopper but as I trust so much in the brand MBT I dared to do so.
The package arrived as planned and in the best of conditions.
Thanks.
Good!
Good price! Good shoes! Good service!
Sorry! I’m spanish but I used english.
