Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 144 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people reported significant dissatisfaction with customer service, often finding it unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to reach a real person for assistance. Reviewers frequently encountered rude, disorganized, or dismissive staff, particularly within the pharmacy department, leading to issues like medication delays or improper handling of requests. Additionally, many customers felt that pricing was a significant concern, describing it as a 'rip-off' with unexpected fees and higher costs compared to competitors. However, some customers also noted positive interactions with specific employees who were described as helpful, professional, and friendly. These individuals provided good service, offering useful advice and making some experiences pleasant, such as efficient handling of prescriptions or personalized beauty tips.

Searching for an item online is a joke

Searching for an item online is a joke. While most Shoppers drugmart stores have websites, they don’t list the products they sell. If you are searching for a specific item, and you want to pick it up,you have to call any number of Shoppers drugmart stores by phone to see if they have the product. This company is stuck in the 1960’s and does not deserve your business.

Wrong lottery order given

I went to check for opening time for the location and noticed the reviews for all stores are abysmal. I can add to that. At Tenth Line Road, the staff seems to change weekly and are poorly trained, especially regarding lottery tickets. All they know is to try to persuade you to get Encore. I asked for 2 tickets for Ontario 49 for the 2 draws of the week. It was $4 which is the correct amount but only noticed at home she had given me 1 ticket with Encore for 2 draws of the week. I did not say the word Encore and did not want it. Did not want to waste time and money to return but NOT HAPPY AT ALL AND NOT THE FIRST ERROR.

Returned Humanity

My experience at Shoppers Drug Mart was absolutely uplifting. The customer service was incredible. I went in the store looking for a product that I couldn't find and when I asked a person that worked there, they were more than happy to find it for me and when it couldn't be found on the shelf, they even went into the back storage and found what I was looking for and all with a smile.

I visited Tsawwassen Mall Shoppers…

I visited Tsawwassen Mall Shoppers Drug mart Sat. morning March 7 after receiving an incorrect product in my on line order. Telephone customer service for on line suggested I go to the store for a replacement or refund. Tsawwassen Mills store did not have the hair product in the store so I just had the money returned to my cc. I want to say what great service I received from the woman at the beauty service counter who was very attentive and helpful as well as patient with my limited abilities in a wheelchair. I experienced the same friendliness and help from who I think was the manager. I was very happy with this Shoppers. I can't remember ever having a pleasurable experience returning something as I did there. Thanks!

Use another pharmacy

The last 2 times I have had a prescription filled, I've received a notification that it is ready for pick up, only to arrive and learn it was never actually filled. The pharmacy also waited over a month to fax my Dr for a refill, causing me to go without an important drug for over a week. There has also been further confusion within the pharmacy in the past. The staff have always been kind, but I've lost a lot of time waiting for prescription refills.

Wonderful shopping experience

I went to Shoppers Drug Mart located on 5762 Hwy 7 Unit 1, Markham, Store #1013 to purchase my skin care products. Staff Olivia served me with excellent service. She was helpful and polite. She gave me professional opinions to choose the products which suitable for me. I was very satisfied with her great service. Thanks again Olivia!

Price inflation is insane here

I used to really like shoppers. But ive come to realize that they hike up the prices of things like crazy. I recently went grocery shopping in nofrills and bought Ensure 6pack for $14 the same pack of Ensure at shoppers is $20.99?? Why ? Ive noticed it with other things as well. But something that alot of people rely on like Ensure for people who need the nutrients. Is wild.

Horrendous Customer Service + Customer Review Censorship

I was excited to purchase this e-reader after researching options, despite the cost. However, upon unboxing, the screen immediately began flickering. I attempted to troubleshoot online but found no cause or solution.

Being within the 30-day return period, I contacted Shoppers Drug Mart to request an exchange for a functional unit, given the $300 price with tax. Their stated they cannot process refunds or exchanges on opened electronics and suggested I contact the manufacturer. They ended the e-mail with "we sincerely hope you will give us the privilege of continuing to serve you as one of our valued customers."

It’s extremely disappointing to receive a defective product only to have the retailer avoid accountability, leaving the customer to jump through hoops to merely get a functional product that they paid for. It shows a complete lack of respect for their customers or accountability as a retailer selling third-party products.

Please learn from my mistake and take your shopping (especially expensive purchases) elsewhere, to support companies that respect customers and hold themselves accountable when they sell and distribute defective items. Trust me, the PC Optimum points are honestly not worth the stress or hassle from dealing with a company that does business in such bad faith. I'm going to redeem the points I have now and then will not be purchasing from this company again.

Despite claiming it takes 2-3 days for customer reviews to be published (after confirming the email address is associated with the product purchase in question, etc.) - my review has not been published for nearly 2 weeks. I've emailed Shopper's to followup and haven't received an answer...

Do NOT Buy Giftcards Here

Bought a $50 lululemon gift card here in October 2025. Gave it as a gift and it had no money on it! Was told to go in person for resolution, went in and they told me to called. Called and was asked to send all my information with receipts which I did. Have waited 8 weeks and been ignored despite following up several times. Called today and the customer service is non existent. Only resolution offered was PC optimum points, not a replacement gift card. They told me I could only do this through email, and tried emailing me but it didn’t work. They have no solution. So I paid $50 for gift card that didn’t work, they’re keeping my $50 and not giving me a gift card.

Shocking today

Shocking today. I used to buy hearing batteries 13 from Amazon sometimes. Mostly my hearing aid service they sold me 6 for $5, no HST. Today suddenly my battery died I went to Shoppers Drug Mart found PC brand 8 batteries pack for $15.99 plus recycling fee 32 cents. Very sad. It was ripoff price. Very unfair price. I had no other choice I had to buy for emergency. Usually I carry spare batteries. I regret to support their business.

Ongoing problems resolving missing delivery - Case Number: 22884813

On January 14, 2026 I ordered $95 worth of goods online which I did not receive. A delivery photo was given showing they delivered it to a house, not mine, not even the same street number. For reference: Order Number: 903723913 / Case Number: 22884813.

I paid using 50,000 optimum points, a $14.40 gift card and paid the remainder by credit card.

I sent notification to the shipping company (no reply) and phoned shoppers (no answer, perpetual hold). Then I found an online form at Shoppers, and submitted order details and desired resolution. After a few days, received an email "do I want my money back or to reship?" I said money back (by now it's January 26).

I received an e giftcard for $14.40. No credit of points. Nothing back to my credit card.

So I sent an email. No answer.

So I went back to the online portal and advised them of the above, with the order details, background, details of the refund I expected.

I received the following: "Your case has been resolved. Please check the FAQ". It was not from an email address I could respond to.

So I resubmitted the entire lot of details today (February 3, 2026) as above and let's see what happens.

I am disappointed that your customer service team cannot cross reference an order value with a refund value. The challenges of reaching someone who cares is profoundly disturbing in an era when one can shop for prices online and the only differentiating factor is CUSTOMER SERVICE. Having to post complaints on a third party platform in order to get service is ... well. You know.

Customer service chat is useless

I have used a PC Mastercard my entire adulthood, but I’m honestly so disappointed in the way Shoppers conducts business. The prices are horrendous and any incentives like PC Points or Optimum are still a rip off. I purchased $200 worth of stuff at the Beauty Boutique online for in-store pick up and it said it would include three samples plus a gift of YSL Libre Berry sample. Well of course there wasn’t any samples in the order. At least Sephora will throw in at least one even if they don’t have them all. Ever since Loblaws took over Shoppers it has definitely lost its quality but never got the better prices that the other Loblaws store offer.

I reached out to customer service as well and they kept copying and pasting their response instead of actually answering my question. Other than their pharmacists usually being really awesome and thorough, Shoppers is not worth it.

Shame on Shoppers, Dragonfly, Loblaws.

I ordered online with this Loblaws owned company for the first time.

The order form only asks for one address. I entered my shipping address and the order was rejected. I put in my billing address that matches the credit card and the order was accepted. The confirmation showed billing and shipping address as the same but the system never asked me for a shipping address. The system implied shipping was via Canada Post. I found out delivery was by Dragonfly, a Montreal company with lots of complaints.

SDM said delivery was 4-6 days. It took 9 and the delivery guy threw it on porch and drove away. A great opportunity for porch thieves. This is why I have a secure shipping address at the local Shoppers Drug Mart! If it had been stolen, reviews show neither SDM or Dragonfly are helpful and would just blame each other. It would have cost me $400+ to replace the item and I’d lose the 150,000 Optimum points I redeemed.

Just how hard is it to ask the customer for a shipping address and why does tracking not use text messaging notifications?

Neither Dragonfly or Shoppers understand customer service. It’s no wonder these “bottom feeders” are bedfellows.

Bad Experience

I am writing this review to formally express my dissatisfaction with a recent experience at the Shoppers Drug Mart located on Simcoe Street in Oshawa.

I have been a loyal customer of this location since moving to Oshawa in 2017 and have consistently supported this store. Unfortunately, this visit resulted in the most unacceptable customer service experience I have encountered, specifically involving an acting manager.

During my visit, I selected my items and completed a purchase totaling over $500, including multiple body washes, creams, body sprays, gels, and other personal care products, as well as two bags of chips. At checkout, I was informed that paper bags were restricted to cosmetic items only. I did not request a cloth bag, as I do not use them and it would have gone to waste.

After my transaction was completed, only the chips were placed in a bag. When I asked how I was expected to carry the remainder of my purchase, given the volume of items, the acting manager responded, “I don’t know.” I explained that my pockets were not large enough to carry everything, yet no effort was made to assist me or provide a reasonable solution.

This interaction demonstrated a clear lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic customer service. Regardless of store policy, a manager should be capable of offering alternatives or handling concerns respectfully. The dismissive response I received was unacceptable, particularly from someone in a leadership role.

As a long-standing customer, this experience left me feeling disrespected and undervalued. I expect higher standards from Shoppers Drug Mart and hope this feedback results in immediate attention to customer service training and management conduct at this location.

The worst online system in the world

The worst online system in the world. The computer techs do not know how to even change an email address. I’ve been trying to change my email address for 2 years and my old email, which was cancelled and hacked, is still showing in my profile. When I go to edit it, it says my new one is in the system. When I order Joe Fresh stuff the confirmation email doesn’t come to me it must go to my old email that I can’t see anymore because I deleted it. You have to login 4 times just to get into your account. I tried to change pharmacies because I moved and I emailed 4 times and my old one is STILL showing up on the system. Pay a proper computer company to handle your website. It’s completely ridiculous
