Utterly useless

Utterly useless, seems to be an organisation purely process driven who use the automated system to generate noreply emails to clients in order to force them into completing paperwork. We have suffered with lost paperwork, unanswered questions and just simply being ignored.
Staff seem unwilling to engage with clients to answer specific questions. They appear overloaded/under staffed/under qualified to deal - 91% of other trustpilot comments offer similar thoughts.
Finally Barclays engaged on our behalf and we got some sense. Strange how Barclays get an answer in minutes yet I'd been asking the same question for a month. Barclays should very carefully reconsider sending loyal customers to such poor company.

Avoid at all cost

This practice has a branch called QCAS which I have dealt with for months on remortgage transaction, in simple terms they are waste of money so I much recommend you steer away.

Not responsive, to get feedback on emails you need to call back 2/3/4 days later, in one instance email was sent and not got response until after 6 weeks. Didn't do proper due diligence and made a mistake that is costing me £700 on top of their fee but they wont take responsibility for their error - just email with justification to why they did a terrible job (without saying that of course).

Keep it simple and find someone else

Worst ever!

Wow, I should've seen this before..my bad..worst experience ever! bunch of unprofessionals and totally disorganised. I'm a month into variable rate paid high mortgage this month and still the case isn't closed. I'd raise an official complaint and also go to Ombudsman if required. Not going to let them so easily.

I echo all the feedback on this poll

I echo all the feedback on this poll. I'm part through my remortgage with Natwest and these solicitors are truely the worst I have ever come across. They don't read emails yet most of the documentation has to be sent via email. I have to phone them up to tell them to check their emails. The put my documents into my case file but when I phoned again, the documents were 'missing'. If anybody has a choice (which I didn't as they were appointed by Natwest) DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS FIRM!

QCAS have been dealing with a re-mortgage of mine. They are absolutely shocking. Nobody bothers to return your phone call /reply to emails / i am just left hanging for weeks one end. My mortgage offer expired and i thankfully managed to get a 10 days extension which we are in now !!! i dont hold out much hope of anyone being competent to deal with this.

Truly awful and unprofessional

I had no choice in selecting a solicitor (or conveyancer in this case) for our re-mortgage with TSB. I would have NOT paid for their poor service. I appreciate they work for the lender and not the customer, but I found their service lacking and generally bad.

I was sent documents that were not relevant, they failed to keep the portal up to date with each stage, completing the deadlines AFTER the event. Every email to confirm things and check details were ignored and the premium rate number charged is appalling. Any emails they do send out are from 'do not reply' addresses, so you can't reply and query!

The completion date given to them (around Christmas and New Year) was selected but ignored, having given them 3 months notice and time to alert us if the date wasn't possible (our friend completed their re-mortgage on the 2nd Jan, so we know it was possible). We finally completed a week late, no communication or reasons why it was late. Had to constantly chase via my broker. During this time I had to unnecessarily pay 3% extra daily interest as my old deal had expired.

We are still awaiting copy of the new title, which from experience is likely to take weeks, as they just don't seem to care about how unprofessional they look.

Be careful when selecting these or question with your lender, before accepting this below par company. Not good in any way, shape or form!!!

Stay away from QCAS Solicitors

Stay away from QCAS Solicitors. Have been passed to them from Natwest. They have been dealing with my re-mortgage case for the last 3 months. No updates, no replies to any emails, calls are only recorded, no callbacks. Have no idea when it will be completed at all! Most awful service!!

a big let down for something very important

I wish I had done my research into this company before I instructed them. I am having a nightmare time getting in touch for my re-mortgage, this has resulted in my old mortgage going onto the new standard rate and my payment has gone up by £130, horrendous to find that out over Christmas. They have been trying to sort this out since the start of October. Very hard to get in touch with, Its the 6th January today, I last sent an e-mail 16th December with no reply still. its worrying and another hassle I don't need. They also sent me correspondence for someone who lives at the other end of the country, with their details contained within. I hope to cancel this application before it gets worse.

90% cant be wrong and they are not…

90% cant be wrong and they are not wrong. A vile and untrustworthy bunch of individuals headed up by an even more incompetent partner. They should take lesson from McDonalds to help improve their very accurate image of complete incompetence, ignorance and dire customer service.

It is incomprehensive to believe these incompetents are instructed by financial institutions. Price can be the only consideration as there is no other reason that can be justified. I bring to their attention the Oscar Wilde Quote. Some people know the price of everything but the value of nothing. Nothing is exactly what you get from QCAS

Thoroughly incompetent

Thoroughly incompetent. Made significant errors whilst dealing with our case, for example they couldn't calculate the SDLT payable correctly and couldn't even calculate their own fees/invoice correctly. Their service/incompetence meant that we could almost not complete. There is no transparency over their fees. I would strongly advise to use another conveyancing solicitor firm.

This is the worse “legal” firm I’ve ever come across

This is the worse “legal” firm, I have ever come across.
What should be a straightforward remortgage etc, is being dragged out, over complicated and infuriating. My mortgage has been approved, only they are dragging this out.
The other bad reviews are correct, avoid at all costs!!!!!
Talking of costs, they want money from you even when your mortgage company are paying!
They also send email after email, it’s usually the same email sent by different people. But they don’t read anything you send back to them, they just ask for the same information again in yes you’ve guessed it, yet another email!
Useless is an understatement!!!!! Surely companies like this should be more regulated?
Update: A further 5 weeks on since this all started and I’m still getting emails asking for the same information. I’ve put a complaint in now as I’ve had enough and no one at QCAS does anything to progress things. Shambles, utter shambles. If your mortgage company wants to use them, run !

1 star gives credit they don’t deserve.

It’s difficult to convey just how bad this company are, you receive a series of bot generated emails requesting documents you have already provided. Meanwhile you can see zero progress being made on the conveyance. The business model is clearly designed for you not to be able to speak to a human, assuming there are humans that work there. In utter despair I tried calling them on the premium rate number, I was held for a while before the call (conveniently?) dropped.
It’s beyond me how any organisation can partner with this company.
Barclays, you should be ashamed.

Chasing for documents they received a week ago

Like other reviewers, I'm shocked that this company is still winning conveyancing contracts with major mortgage providers. I sincerely hope that those responsible for procurement take these reviews into consideration in the future. Abysmal communication; impolite and confusing emails seemingly sent at random, demanding documents which have already been provided online. Also, at the time of writing this review, their online document portal and website are offline, so I can't check the status of my application.

Absolutely appalling

Absolutely appalling. Shulman's/ QCAS acted on behalf of the purchaser of my property. To say they work at a snail's pace is an understatement.

What should have been a very straightforward sale almost fell through because the purchaser's mortgage offer was due to expire ( valid 6 months). The purchaser then complained and things finally started to move. As the seller l basically had no recall with Shulman's. I had raised concerns but Shulman's completely ignored me.

Do not use this company.

QCAS are absolutely useless

QCAS are absolutely useless! Whilst acting as conveyancer for a transfer of equity for Accord Mortgages they seem unable to explain what their own fees will be, on their premium rate phoneline which they don't disclose is actually premium rate. They send the same email repeatedly requesting information that has already been provided and they send these emails directly to the client even though a broker is being employed, resulting in further phone calls to their premium rate number. They require all info by post, not email or fax. ID and PoR must be certified by a signed stamp not handwritten. If you get cut off they don't call back, presumably so you can spend more time paying for their premium rate phoneline, who gets accidentally cut off in this day and age anyway?!? In short, i don't think they deserve even one star but i had to select at keast one to leave a review. My advice to anyone who encounters QCAS is to request a different conveyancer, most lenders do have a panel available, i wish we had!
