Everything went smooth. The young lady helped us get our vehicle even though we were over an hour earlier than schedule. Process was easy and efficient. Car is great and pricing I booked thru a third party was very very good. Would definitely recommend. So far so good.

We booked snap rentals in December 2025. We booked the car for the sole reason that we could pick it up from Auckland airport. This is a shuttle service, we then had to pay an extra $100 for premium location fees. What a joke . . . And extra fees for out of hours as our return flight was at 6am, so another company had to do the return transfer. It’s now a month later and I’m still getting charged fees for the tolls we used. $25 per toll for admin fees, when I can log on and pay the tolls online at the nz transport website for no fees. They send each toll individually then charge admin fees for each one. The car we rented was so old that the gps was an extra box the size of a packet of cigarettes. So was unusable, the lady on the front desk laughed and said, ‘our cars are sooo old - I wouldn’t use them’.
The windscreen wiper was only one wiper and did the entire windscreen, but was so old it didn’t wipe the middle, so the driver had to slide down and look under it making the car unroadworthy.
The girls on the front desk were lovely - so yes the customer service was great, but obviously masked a terrible business model ( outdated, unsafe cars) and so many hidden fees - we’ve used hire car companies before and have never had such a bad experience.
Avoid. . avoid . . avoid. .

The team are friendly and helpful. The website easy to use. Payments and bond returns all hassle-free. I enjoyed this company and their communication plus service.

Hope the sneaky $12 'public holiday' surcharge that was not mentioned until collection was worth the 1 star review. Be upfront it annoys people when you aren't. The money isn't the issue, the underhand charge is.

Would definitely recommend Snap rentals to anyone looking for a vehicle they are friendly and efficient at what they do. We Always use them anytime we need a vehicle. Very happy with their service.

Booking in and booking out was very easy and very quick. It is a good location - near the airport but not within in so access is easy and convenient. The shuttle to the airport is an excellent service.
In short - would definitely use again.

Terrible. Please avoid this company. We rented 4 cars on our Australia / New Zealand. All were brilliant apart from Snap rentals. When the car appeared it was damaged on all sides - scarily so. No other cars available. We explained we were worried about it being roadworthy. It had over 200k on the clock. Then when driving a strange noise started - the windscreen wiper had been taped on and the tape had come loose. No way this was road worthy. We tried to contact during the rental. No response. Tried after - very poor customer response. Takes a lot for us to write a bad review as we wanted to give them a chance to respond. They basically said if we had told them about the windscreen wiper they could have sorted. Who knows to check if it is taped together with sticky tape? Not a great experience. So many other fabulous companies to use. Not this one

Amazing staff.!! When dealing with a huge issue, I enquired if I could move the truck hire by 3 days…. Nothing was a problem (and no charge either). Best hire experience ever

First of all the pick-up at (in my case) Auckland International Terminal was really fast: less than 5 minutes after me calling them, I was picked up and brought to their office.
Then all formalities regarding the rental were done in a very friendly and easy going yet very efficient manner. Taking into account the fact that I am a non native speaker of English the staff was very helpful and patient with me, explaining everything about driving in NZ, the where, what and how’s regarding the few toll roads in NZ. And finally all features of my rental car were extensively explained and pointed out to me, including the digital screen and the Apple car play, before taking off.
In one word: perfect in every sense of the word.

Honestly, the process was incredibly quick and efficient. Once all the online details were completed, everything went smoothly.
I went to pick up at the Auckland Airport - The team was friendly, helpful, and answered all my questions. Pickup was simple, and the Toyota Highlander Hybrid was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable to drive. With unlimited mileage, it was great value for money. I had no issues at all with the vehicle!!
Communication was excellent, even when I needed to return the car slightly later than planned. Returning the vehicle was just as easy—fuel up, hand back the keys, and done.

The online reservation was smooth and there were great choices of vehicles to pick from. The email on shuttle instructions from the airport was fairly clear. Car pickup process was extremely quick! We got the car within 10 mins which was good after a long flight. Car was in good condition and had an excellent audio system and also Apple CarPlay for easy map navigation.

No hidden fees or extra terms. Staff were friendly and shuttle services were very helpful. Highly recommend

Friendly staff and helpful, stress free

My name is Hakolo Ikitule, I have used Snap Rentals twice, and both times they have been great. Well awesome really, the attendant she was great, especially her smile, the way she spoke, and explained quite clearly about the rental side, when I returned the vehicle, I was welcomed with the same courtesy, I highly recommend Snap Rentals.

The team at Snap were friendly and professional at every step from booking, pick up at the airport and pick up of the vehicle.

The car went really well, it was just the customer service which was lacking. No explanation of how to use a car with a stop / start button and no knowledge of how to open the fuel flap. When I returned to the store to ask how to lock the car, I was patronised by the young man who told me I must have left a window or door wide open! Much frustration could have so easily been avoided.
