Do NOT use this "company." They are a scam. I hired them over a year ago and nothing had been done. Ive spent around $3,000.00 trying to get out of a $10,000.00 debt it's BS they didn't help me AT ALL JUST LIED AND TOOK MY MONEY. They are even worse than the IRS. DO MOT TRUST THEM!!!! EVIL GREEDY SCAMMERS!!!!

My fiancé didn't file taxes in 23 and last year she when she did file she was made aware that the IRS had not been withholding enough and she got slammed with fines and late fees. Over 10k owed between state and fed. These guys offered to take the case for a monthly fee with the expectation of reducing the amount owed plus fines and late fees and told us that while they were representing her she would not get further penalized and would not be hit by collections. It's been over a year and last week we got a nice letter from the IRS. They are now going to garnish her wages. Save your money or use a legit company but these guys are no good!

They promised to eliminate penalties and interest for tax liabilities for open and paid. What the accomplished was lower my monthly payment and extending my tax liability. They are the biggest scam out there. Save your money as promises made just baiting you to pay them. That why the collect the money upfront so you have to fight for a refund . The don't fulfill their obligation. Stay clear.

they discovered issues i had with the IRS that I wasn't aware that I had and are working on my behalf to resolving them. So, it seems I made a good decision when I started working with these folks. We'll be certain of this when I receive written confirmation from IRS that I have no outstanding issues

My original review is listed below. I thought it necessary to provide a follow up review because I have resolved my tax issue on my own.
After going back and forth with Taxrise after they completely screwed up my case I decided to call the IRS myself. In less than two hours my account was placed back in uncollectible status, where it had been placed immediately following my husbands death in 2021 .
Taxrise somehow managed to get a lien placed against me for $ 38,000 and agree to a monthly payment of $194!! Which I defaulted on.
I understand that everyone case is different but I would advise anyone to call the IRS directly. Find out what options are available. If after that you still feel you need assistance, look for help. But don’t hire one of these tax consultants. They all are unscrupulous!
Now I have to get my $6,000 back.

I had been working for 2 years to resolve a problem with the IRS. I called IRS representatives at least twice a week for 2 years with no results. I tried getting an appointment to visit with a representative, but was told they would not see me without an appointment and they would not give me an appointment. In just a few months Tax Rise managed to solve my tax problems. I would definitely recommend Tax Rise to anyone with tax problems. I found their personnel to be very helpful and they offered explanations which helped me to understand the logistics of dealing with my problem. They kept me informed on their progress. I learned dealing with the IRS alone is an impossible and frustrating task. Tax Rise provides you with the help you'll need to resolve your tax problems.

This company made misleading statements and charge over $300 for nothing. Please do not waste your time and money. Take your money and put towards your balance with IRS.

I started my journey with tax rise on June 1st. Paid the $500 for the consult & found out after about a week that I was no approved for an offer in compromise. Tax rise offered to help me make payment arrangements with the IRS at the cost of $5k+. I'm in a financial bind but they're asking for $5k to do something i can do myself for free. I decide to decline the service. Now every time I call, it's a new story. I've called on the 8th, 15th, 23 & on hold now on the 24th. Every call includes a 30-60 minute wait time. Before I decided to cancel, reps were reaching out via text, call and email.

Update: After filing formal complaints online, Tax Rise quickly worked to resolve this matter. I confirmed today 8/10, that all accounts have been canceled and they even voluntarily returned half of my upfront payment.

I went in thinking that they were going to bring out a resolution with some tax relief but unfortunately they did not save me any money but cost me $2500 to find that out. So..I still have to pay them this fee and still have the IRS to pay up what I actually owed. I have to hand it to them for their professionalism and orderly procedures but I wouldn't be expecting anything in return for the money you pay them. The final answer was just don't pay them and hopefully in ten years, the IRS will simply ignore what you owe them..Not a real solution if you ask me.

I got into touch very quickly when i called... it took about 10 rings and i was directly connected to a person, and that person answered my questions i had and was a delight to talk to.

When I started this journey, i was very nervous but Sami had me calm in the first few minutes of conversation. He was helpful in understanding my tax liability and explained how the program works and my participation in it and answered all my questions and concerns

Review of TaxRise
My experience with TaxRise was deeply disappointing and concerning, and I feel obligated to share it to help others make informed decisions.
First, much of their initial interaction appears to rely on AI-driven or scripted front-line agents. This creates a significant gap in empathy and understanding when dealing with something as stressful and personal as tax issues. I did not feel heard or supported during the early stages of communication.
Second, I was charged approximately $5,000 after being told I qualified for a tax relief program that would potentially waive around $10,000 of my IRS debt. During the sales process, I felt strongly pressured to move forward with their services based on this representation. However, once they began processing my case, I was informed that I was no longer eligible for the tax relief program they had originally claimed I qualified for. As a result, I am now left owing both the IRS and the loan I took out to pay TaxRise for their services.
To make matters worse, the resolution offered by the company was only a 10% refund, which does not come close to addressing the financial and emotional impact of this situation. It felt more like an attempt to minimize complaints rather than take accountability.
Finally, there was no continuity in customer service. Each time I contacted TaxRise, I spoke with a different representative. This lack of consistency made it extremely difficult to get clear answers or build trust throughout the process.
Overall, I regret choosing TaxRise. Based on my experience, I strongly advise others to proceed with caution or consider alternative, more transparent tax assistance services.

I had a great experience working with Dustin. From the beginning, he spoke eloquently and professionally, making what could have been a stressful conversation about taxes feel much more manageable. He took the time to explain things clearly, answered my questions thoroughly, and made sure I understood my options.
