Fallen for the scam too

Seems I've fallen for this scam too. They seem to have all the bases covered as to all complaints made, probably cost more in legal fees to get them prosecuted. Be good idea to report them to 'Watchdog' and see what they do. Just out of badness myself,I'm still listing dvds and getting prices for them and then completing the deal. Only I won't be sending them. See how they like it! Won't get me the money I've lost but does make me feel slightly better that they are wasting postage (to send me a 'welcome pack') and time. And if it screws their accounting up a bit, even better.

DO NOT USE - Reject DVD's takes an age to pay

Wish I had read the recent reviews for this website, as I wouldn't be writing this now !!! 1st off like to point out we are a retail shop, juts wanting to get rid of some excess stock.

Sent off 67 DVD Films, all checked and CLEANED (using our Professional DISC CLEANER), didn't send any that might have looked a bit iffy.... Of these 67 DVD's, 12 of them were rejected for various reasons, but most due to water damage or artwork damage ??? Once rejected by them, you do not get a PENNY for them, and they KEEP them !!!??

I notice a lot of other complaints are about rejection due to water damage, this is something that is 100% noticeable by eye ?? Feel a bit conned when 12 out of 67 DVD's juts been given away and my £39.55 payment now going to be £33 !!

Now the wait is on, some people state up to 5 months, eek... I submitted my DVD's on the 27th September, they arrived 6th October, they have been authorised/rejected, and current status is "cheque will be printed shortly", which has been like this for two weeks to date, and upon reading their website, states up to 60 days !!

Do feel a little ripped off, as rejection by them is a FINAL DECISION, and they will not return these, especially after I checked and cleaned them all over prior to dispatched. Must be that they want PRESTINE, LIKE NEW DVD's and none that they have to rework to sell on... ??

Anyhow. PLEASE TAKE EVERYBODY's advice and AVOID !!!!

DO NOT USE THIS TIME WASTING COMPANY!

Hopefully you are reading this before you have used webuydvds.co.uk, otherwise you are in for an extremely long wait to get your payment. I sent in some DVD's/CD's in May and have only just received the money after 5 months of chasing it by email (there is no phone number on their website). They do reply to your emails but its just one excuse after an another - very annoying experience. Id recommend using any of Zapper, Ziffit, Music Magpie, Momox, CEX or webuybooks.co.uk instead - all of these companies have paid me within a reasonable time frame without any messing about.

Appalling - Do not use this Company

I really wish I had researched this site beforehand - it would have saved a lot of trouble. Where to start? I had about 60 DVD's to sell, sent 30 to to Ziffitt - I was paid within a week and I sent the remainder to these sharks as they offered a better price. It took an absolute age for them to even acknowledge the dvd's. I even had an email saying my quote had expired. They did eventually acknowledge the goods and said the original quote stood. After a few weeks I heard nothing so contacted them - their response was that they were extremely busy but could I bear with them. Another few weeks I chased again. They then tell me that they are rejecting 10 of the DVD's due to water damage (whatever that means) - all the DVD's have only been watched a couple of times. Anyway, you can't argue with them anyway "our decision is final" and they don't return the items rejected so there is no way of checking what they say. You have to confirm your address before they can authorise your cheque - I suspect another delaying tactic - again I waited no cheque - emailed twice- "it has been authorised and will be out to you in the next run" - waited again - emailed them again - this time they state the cheque had been sent out but, had obviously been lost in the post, they will issue a further one! They did this time and I banked it the same day - from sending DVD's (beginning of June) off to receiving cheque 14 October is beyond a joke. I would never recommend these sharks- absolutely appalling.

The worst ever!

I read few of the reviews here but i think my experience beat most of yours. I sent my dvds on 24th of JANUARY 2016. And guess what? Still no payment. I chased them few times couple of months ago and tried again today. But what they do is disgraceful.

Has anybody got any idea how to take them down?

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Like many people I wish I had read the reviews before using this company. It's been nearly 4 months since I sent my dvds in and still no payment, abysmal customer service and they have failed dvds that were perfectly fine.
Even though they offer better prices, DON'T USE THEM !!!

Avoid Like the Plague

Like many others on here, I appear to have been taken for a ride by this shoddy company. They received my DVDs on the 14 June 2016 and to date I still have not received any payment for the DVDs that I sent them in good faith.

They just keep informing me that my cheque is waiting to be printed. I will be contacting Trading Standards today to ensure that every step is taken to close down their business and if necessary, I will seek redress through the small claims court.

They are clearly not honest and will just keep you waiting and waiting for your money.

Do not be fooled by the offer of better prices like I was because the chances of you seeing your money is very slim.

You have been warned - Avoid like the plague.

absolute con

I sent my dvds to webuydvds in April. Some of the dvds (in pristine condition when sent) were rejected. Incidentally one of these was a boxset for which webuydvds offered significantly more money for than Music magpie.
I emailed in May to ask about payment and was told that the recycle was in the queue to enter payment process.
I emailed again in June and was told that 'it takes 60 working days from the date that you have confirmed your address for payment to be sent to you'.
I received another email on 5th july to say that payment had been sent.
Alas! Still no cheque!
I emailed again today to say that I hadn't received the cheque and got a response saying that the customer services and quality checking team are on annual leave.
The service is terrible and I would avoid at all costs. Massive con!

Con Artists.

I used 3 online companies to recycle just over 300 DVDs; Momox, Zapper and WebuyDVDs. I chose these companies because they offered the best prices. About 200 were sent to Momox and Zapper. They were efficient, and paid fairly promptly. Out of these DVDs, 6 were declined due to scratches, cover damage, ect. Fine, no big deal. Just under 100 were sent to Webuydvds. After waiting for a ridiculously long amount of time, nearly all of them so far have been rejected, despite the fact that they were in the same condition as the other DVDs, and I am still waiting. These people are con artists. Do not use!

Longest payment time ever!

Wow, I have just received my cheque from we buy dvd's after sending my items on 12th March 2016. After much chasing a cheque was raised on 31st May 2016 but I never received it. Eventually today it has turned up on 18th July 2016. Obviously I'm pleased to have received the cheque but 4 months and 1 week for payment - not good enough!

Disgusting company should not be trading

I sent my DVDs to them in April and have not received payment , I emailed weeks ago asking when I would receive it , they replied that their terms and conditions state that it can take 60 working days from the date you confirm your address details , which that takes them about three weeks to do from sending your DVDs to them , it is an appaling service and would never of sent my DVDs to them , they should not be allowed to trade ,would of given no stars if I could

They "expire" your recycle on purpose and then don't respond to any attempts at contacting them. Complete scam just to get your products for free. They should be shut down.

Diabolical. Utterly disgusting service - 3 months to receive payment

If I could give less than 1 star, I would.
Much like most people who use this company, I was drawn in by the higher prices they were offerings for mt DVDs. This was an enormous mistake. It has taken me 3 months of continual chasing to receive a cheque which ended up being for less than I would have received from other sites (music magpie - who incidentally paid money directly to my bank account within a week of receiving my recycle with no quibbles whatsoever) because of their spurious and entirely fabricated reasons for not accepting 25% of my items. At no point until my cheque miraculously arrived on Saturday did I have any faith that I would ever see any payment from them. Their customer service (if you can even call it service) is appalling and oddly enough, I haven't been asked to provide a review to Feefo which, it is claimed on their site, shows that 95% of their customers think their service is excellent. What an absolute joke. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

Do not use!

It took three months to receive my cheque, and they failed 25% of the DVDs I sent them. Although they pay more than Music Magpie, the amount WeBuyDVDs reject reduces the payments significantly and the hassle just isn't worth it. I emailed them every 1-2 weeks chasing the payment and was fobbed off with various excuses such as a back log, payment is in the 'Multi Pay File' section, address needs to be confirmed. When I received the payment in the post this morning I said 'Hallelujah' because I was so shocked! Please do not use. I've complained to Trading Standards and I hope they stop trading.

Big scam

Its been now 8 weeks since Ihave sold my dvds. They found some fault with 25% of them.I have sent 40 e mails asking for my money. No answer.I have supplied them my bank details so that they would pay me by BACS Now they tell me it takes 5 days to verify my account. They literally take a mickey at the expense of the sellers. If you read the comments posted on about this company on google you will see how they deal with the sellers. They should be struct off so that they can not rip off any more people.Tomorrow I am taking them to Small Claims Court here in Brentford.Let the court deal with those crooks.

WARNING - AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!!

I wish I could give this company less than one star.

Let’s start with the one good point, webuyddvds do offer good prices for the items compared to music magpie and cex on some items. I checked hundreds of items and they were favourable on a lot of the lowest priced items. I sent items to all of these companies at the same time back in September. Unfortunately this favourable price is irrelevant as it is so hard to get the money from them.

They deducted money for items that the deemed were damaged, I'll be honest and say that some of the items may have had minor damage (I checked them but not thoroughly) so I can accept this, although they will not send them back to you so this policy is completely open to abuse with no appeals process.

They promised that the cheque would be issued within 9 working days. I had not received the cheque after three weeks so I chased them and they said that they were experiencing large volumes of business and that there would be a delay. On the face of it this seems ok but after another week I chased them again with a similar reply. It took me more than 2 months of chasing to get to a point where they said that they would issue the cheque. Then 2 weeks later I hadn’t received the cheque and after chasing them they said as a gesture of good faith they would cancel and resend the cheque and not charge me a £12.50 processing charge (as if they were doing me a favour).

I finally cashed the cheque last week and I’m glad I do not need to deal with this company anymore. I urge anyone reading this to avoid them. The service with music magpie and CEX was much more favourable with bank transfers exchanging the cash in a few days from processing the items.

Webuydvds are a fraudulent company that have what appears to be systems setup to slow down the payment process for their customers. I hope this review helps others to avoid making the same mistake I did. The total amount I received was £25 and the time I spent chasing them was worth more to me than this value although I did not stop chasing this out of principle. I imagine a proportion of people are not so persistent for small amounts of money allowing this company to essentially get items for “free”.

3 Months since I sent them my DVDs, still haven't been paid.

3 months have passed since I posted them my items, 7 weeks since they claimed to have posted the cheque, nothing received.

Either the company has a serious cash flow problem and is about to go bust or they are deliberately 'stealing' peoples old media.

Emails never receive a satisfactory response, very poor show, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY.
