Great service - Bad phone service

Great service. The luggage pick up worked perfectly. Unfortunatley the service number was not available for hours. I Tried to reschedule and didn't reach anyone in 30 phone calls.

Service was good

Service was great, they just forgot to send me the airway so I had to find a way to store my luggage somewhere as I was moving out but luckily I found help and everything went well!

Good morning Eveline-Martina,

Thanks for the great review and feedback. We have been delighted to have been of service and help you with your consignment. Records confirm all documentation emailed to you 3 days prior to collection (Mon 11/12/2017 7:06 AM). It is always worth checking that the documentation issued by World Baggage had not been Inadvertently filtered into your junk and spam folders :)

Higher costs arose than originally stated in the offer of World Baggage.

I sent my suitcase from Australia to Austria with World Baggage.
I weighted and measured it precisely and stated the true measures. However, World Baggage sent me an additional invoice because according to their measuring the suitcase was much larger. That is simply not the case. I have no idea how they did the measuring, but the result did not match the correct size of my suitcase.

If I had the chance, I would have cancelled the shipping, but I was already out of the country.
In the end, the costs were higher compared with some competitors - even if these competitors would have sent the suitcase to my residential home address.

I can absolutely not recommend World Baggage and advise everybody to look for alternatives. There will arise higher costs than stated in their offer!

Chargeable Weight

All prices quoted are ESTIMATES based on the information you have supplied. Similarly, when you confirm your booking you are charged based on your estimates too.
As you know, chargeable weight is calculated based on the greater of gross weight or volume weight and all consignments are re-weighed and re-measured by World Baggage to confirm this calculation. Any variation to the quoted cost will be confirmed in a supplementary invoice/credit.This process ensures you are only ever charged for what you send, no more no less.

In this instance It appears you have simply “under declared’ the dimensions of your consignment when submitting your booking.Copy of the audited/confirmed dimensions and weights was emailed to you for reference.

The warehouse confirmed additional 4kgs of chargeable weight ($26.35).

Tracking confirms your Airfreight consignment has been successfully delivered to GRZ airport as per your booking, on time in good order and condition (1 piece is delivered at GRZ - 12 Dec 07:09).

Avoid or it will cost you!

Used World Baggage to ship personal goods from Australia to the UK using their airport to airport service. I was not informed about recent changes to UK custom regulations which now require a 'Transfer of Residency' to be completed which takes 4-5weeks. I had to pay an extra $500 over and above the original shipping cost of $400 in order to get my goods released, which took a further two weeks of negotiations with the local freight company in the UK... so much for the estimated 5-7 days airport to airport service. I contacted World Baggage about the extra charges and hassle I was experiencing with the local freight company (which is basically an extended part of their service), but all I received was email listing their notification about checking custom regulations (no mention of recent changes and the time it takes to obtain a TOR clearance) and saying sorry to hear of your experience. Not good enough. I even emailed asking how their airport to door service may have been the better option and how it worked? I didn't receive a reply... World Baggage wiped their hands clean of it. It would have been cheaper for me paying for excess baggage on my flight than sending it with this company! Avoid or it will cost you!

Good evening Andrew
As per previous correspondence (Friday, November 17, 2017 5:26:15 AM)

Yes, HM Customs in the UK introduced a new system at the start of this year for the processing of personal effects consignments seeking Duty and Tax relief called the Transfer of Residence (ToR) application. All Consignments to the UK require “ToR” application to be submitted by the owner of the goods prior to departure if you are seeking duty and tax relief. (Customers have reported getting their ToR # from HM customs in as little as 24-48hrs...not sure why it would take you 4-5weeks?)
If no ToR application is submitted your consignment will be subject to duty and tax assessment by HM customs.

You were directed to complete the necessary customs documentation during the online booking process, and we supply a direct link to the HM customs website and “ToR” online application to this end. Review of your file confirms no ToR was supplied by you to World Baggage prior to uplift...?! This serves as a valuble reminder to all customers, It remains the responsibility of the owner of the goods (you) to submit the ToR application and comply with HM Customs requirements before any consignment can be released.

NOTE:You may re-apply retrospectively for ToR Relief, once you are properly established in the UK, using the ToR01 process if you have new information or evidence to support your application, but you must do this as soon as possible and within 12 months of arrival in to the UK. If you are successful, you may be entitled to a refund of import charges.

Tracking confirms successful delivery to Liverpool Airport (LPL) on SQ3955/13th (6days). The Airfreight service to Airport is NOT a Delivery to Door service (inclusive of terminal charges, customs processing and delivery) and you remain responsible for processing your consignment once it has been successfully delivered to the destination Airport.

Fast and exactly as expected

They picked up my baggage in the time window they promised (despite the fact that I booked it with less than 48 hours notice), delivered it faster than I expected, and sent me status updates at each step of the way so I knew exactly where it was. When I called with a question, they were able to answer it quickly and correctly. Very pleased with their service. I would definitely use World Baggage again if I needed this service.

One suggestion: my luggage arrived before I did. I would have been happy to choose a slower and cheaper option if World Baggage could offer that.

Good

Good, prompt service, but I wasn't given enough information. I needed to document each item being packed ( i.e. 3 x hoodies) and needed 3 copies of the import form - first pick up wasn't accepted so needed to send out a day later

You do NOT read.

I book a port to port service. But I was NOT allow to pick up my stuff at the port.

And ones again, you could not tell me to which port my stuff would be delivery.

You should at least refund the $200 that cost me the delivery.

Thank you.

World Baggage answer:

As per our last correspondence (Fri 15/09/2017 11:42 AM) Destination Terminal charges (including storage, customs processing and delivery) are specifically excluded in the Sea Freight service to Port and paid directly by the consignee upon arrival of their shipment. The Sea Freight service terminates upon successful delivery to nominated Port; it is not a Delivery to Door service.
The destination terminal charges levied by the shipping line at destination (Apx €450.00) are consistent with the “Guide to Destination charges” as published on our website (not “hidden”?), and you were directed to and made aware of prior to submitting your booking.
If you choose to contract a third party to action any or all of the processing of your shipment (Customs -border agency apx €200.00, Delivery etc apx €200.00) as you have done, you would expect to pay their professional service charges too.
Similarly if you do not process your shipment with in the free storage period after your shipment has arrived, you will be charged additional storage fees (apx €100) as has occurred in this instance.
Our records confirm “Departure Notice”, “Pre-Alert” and “Arrival notification” were all successfully delivered to you via email confirming all details and instruction for processing your shipment, prior to arrival, and we have responded with in 24hours to all correspondence. We are sorry to hear that you have not been satisfied with the service provided we appreciate your feedback.

"If you choose to contract a third party to action any or all of the processing of your shipment (Customs -border agency apx €200.00, Delivery etc apx €200.00) as you have done, you would expect to pay their professional service charges too."
As you are aware, all shipments must be cleared and released by customs at the port of discharge before final onforwarding to final destination. We have contacted the shipping lines agent in Spain and they have confirmed you had issued instruction to deliver your shipment to your door. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

Shipped my bag from Australia to Denmark with no worries at all! Easy to pack and put on the label, got an email when my bag arrived at a new destination- even got my bag there 2 days earlier! Would use this again if I'm out travelling and need to get rid off some extra weight! Seriously, do it.

Booking and getting my daughters personal effects to London was seamless and stress free. Apart from a small glitch which had very little to do with World Baggage, it was a very good shipping experience.

WORLDBAGGAGE LOST OUR LUGGAGE AND DIDN'T DISCLOSE ALL COSTS UP FRONT.

WORLDBAGGAGE LOST OUR LUGGAGE AND DIDN'T DISCLOSE ALL COSTS UP FRONT (Note: In an attempt to stop this review being published, World Baggage have tried to tell this reviewing website that they did not undertake any business with me).

My recommendation is to go direct to DHL (who Worldbaggage use anyway), rather than waste your time with their lacklustre services.

Firstly, when obtaining prices for the various shipping options over the phone with "The Manager" from Worldbaggage, we were advised by this individual that there would be NO ADDITIONAL COSTS for the premium door to door service other than the initial 1,000 AUD fee for our 58kgs. After requesting to be reimbursed for the additional 59 euros upon delivery, he simply would not acknowledge his advice over the phone and simply referred us to the terms and conditions, repeatedly advising, "all parties have been fully informed to the terms and conditions." The point here being the information that we were provided over the phone was incorrect (whether is was deliberately incorrect or from an innocent mistake due to incompetence, I don't know)

Secondly, we paid for the 3 to 5 day door to door service from Australia to Spain however it took 28 days for the majority of our luggage to arrive. During this time, Worldbaggage LOST OUR LUGGAGE for over 3 weeks and requested we fill out a lost baggage claim form. The only reason our bags were eventually found was due to my partner's investigative work and persistence with their subcontractor, DHL.

As soon as something was evidently wrong with our shipment...The team at Worldbaggage went running for the hills! When they lost our bags and we started asking questions like how have the bags gone missing and what did the CCTV show where they went missing, their standard (almost automated) update was that they had "protocol to follow" and that they'll "provide an update when it becomes available". Some questionable ethics demonstrated by Worldbaggage through this horrible experience and we will NEVER USE THEM AGAIN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

Good morning Elena

DUTY AND TAX: As per our previous correspondence, “The Delivery to Door Courier Luggage Service is subject to customs controls at the destination country, and consignments booked on a Delivery to Door basis exclude any customs directions at the destination country, which may include “Duty and Tax” (if applicable).” You have acknowledged and confirmed this advice prior to submitting your booking. As you are aware The 59 euros which you have referenced was confirmed by the clearing agent as Duty and Tax imposed on your items by Spanish Customs. All services offered by World Baggage are clearly defined and specifically exclude any duty and tax as determined by customs at destination.

LOST AND FOUND: Yes, regrettably 2 of your items did go missing in transit. We monitor all consignments and once we were alerted to the short delivery we were able to immediately organise searches spanning no fewer than 4 countries and multiple check points that your consignment had transited through. We liaised daily with the carrier to that end and sent you regular updates. Yes, this process did take time and considerable effort to resolve.

Fortunately and thanks to the photo of the missing items you supplied to us, we were able to identify and locate your “unlabelled” bags and successfully deliver these missing items. We appreciate your fustration in the search process and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience that this delay has caused you.

Your experience serves as a valuable reminder to all World Baggage customers to ensure that you "securely affix all address labels to your boxes/bags" to avoid delays or potential loss of your items in transit. We appreciate your feedback.

Update 4th October 2017: Your earlier reviews (multiple) were reported (not blocked) to Truspilot for breach of the ‘Trustpilot User Guidelines’ (confirmed and upheld by Trustpilot). Using multiple email accounts with “erroneous names” unrelated to your consignment (invalidated by Trustpilot), use of offensive language (subsequently edited by you) libellous and defamatory attacks on individuals (subsequently edited by you), and continuous and repeated factually incorrect statements…only serves to devalue your review and we think makes you look pretty silly. We encourage all “bona fide/legitimate” customers of World Baggage to share their experience, 'good, bad or indifferent'. We do expect this do be done in an 'honest and mature' discourse. If you have any further unresolved concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
