The 'My Argos Card' app was head and shoulders above this argos pay app, they've made everything so much harder than it should. I've got an apple watch on a 6 month credit plan which I've only paid £1... See more

Cant make individual payments to…

Cant make individual payments to individual plans. A recipe for mismanagement of payments. There's no insensitive to payoff accounts generating interest. Spoke to customer services and they were shocked i even thought of such a thing. I did suggest i could pay individual plans previously and again they were nonplussed. Hm. Not happy. The answer of course is to ensure i have ONLY 1 plan going at a time, and shop elsewhere.

I used to find the Argos card very…

I used to find the Argos card very useful for the odd bit of shopping in Sainsburys, especially if I was a bit low on funds! When I saw that New Day were taking over, and I could no longer use the card in Sainsburys, I paid up my balance. Reading other reviews on here, I won’t be using Argos Pay. It all seems too clunky. And New Day are well known in the credit industry as particularly revolting (a big ask in that field). So that’s another customer that Sainsburys/Argos has lost.

Absolutely horrible

Absolutely horrible app. I've had an Argos card for years and have religiously bought expensive electrical items and had a wonderful experience with it but since the change to Argos pay I've had nothing but issues and glitches with the app, failing to log in, cancelling payments halfway through and constant "you can't do that". I've now cancelled my account and I'm even tempted to not shop at Argos anymore at all! Screw the "convenience" I think I'll now take my custom elsewhere. Congratulations Sainsbury's/Argos on driving another customer away!

Warning, you will end up in debt!

I have never known an organisation not want your money! New Day are dreadful and trying to pay off previously agreed credit payments has become impossible with this new Argos Pay. I have two BNPL plans that end this month, the money is in my bank waiting and I get regular emails reminding me to pay. How New Day, how??
I’m going to make an official complaint. Looking at the complaint process it’s the only way to speak to a human! I hope others do to, the financial ombudsman needs to get involved, they are driving people into more debt!

I was a big fan of using Argos card not anymore

I was a big fan of using Argos card, now it’s switched to Argos pay it’s a total nightmare. It’s constantly charging me more money even though I pay a monthly direct debit plus more towards my plan and I always pay on time, I only have one plan but somehow it’s asking me for extra payments. Once this is paid off I am finished with Argos pay it’s an absolute joke.

Was with Argos for 8 years never missed a payment .New system nightmare to navigate automated phone line.Hit me with late payment fee because they didn't set up my direct debit even though I received email confirming payment date .I have paid off what I owe and closed my account and I will be demanding the late payment fee back .Sounds like a scam company in it to make quick money .I really hope this set up is shut down and investigated.

Joining in with everyone else

Joining in with everyone else. Had to use Klarna in the end which I didn't want to. Just wanted Buy now Pay Later. Repeatedly, unforgivingly unable to access that particular pay function on the list of payment methods at the end of the order process. Good bye, goodnight, you ruined something that was working fine for decades. You're going down!

Avoid argos pay

Ordered a pressure washer off argos and set the pay day for the Argos pay app to the 1st (I ordered on the 18th) they tried to take money from me on the 20th then canceled the finance demanding full payment. The old argos card was brilliant. But this new argos pay is useless. Avoid at all cost

Omg where do I start

Omg where do I start, before argos pay took over think I was lucky if I phoned twice in all the years ive been a customer, the old app was so simple ,easy to use for payments, manage accounts, but since argos pay took over I have had to phone them 4 times in two weeks, the app is absolutely useless, cant pay anything on it, you cant pay to the BNPL even on the phone they cant sort it out if the plan is coming to an end, any money paid even to normal credit it goes the the plan because its ending soon, and you cant pay anything to any other BNPL plans so incompetent its 2026, think once my plans are paid I will be shopping elsewhere, to much stress hassle, get a grip Argos

Notice of missed payments

I've 2 BNPL small plans expiring Oct and Nov 2026 yet I've received a letter saying I'm behind with payments and i may be charged interest. Definitely closing the Argos account, will not be buying anything further.

Absolutely terrible

Absolutely terrible! I've been trying to make payments to pay some of my BNPL items but I've tried everything. My bank is not in the choices in the menu so I put my card details in, I then had to confirm the payment through my mobile banking app, I did this and it said my bank had refused it, when I contacted my bank they said they had had no request from argos pay. I tried a few times and it did exactly the same. I then tried to pay with Newday Ltd sort code and account number, it asked for my account number which I entered and it then said the account number was wrong! I checked my account number against the number on my statements and I was entering it correctly. I'm at my wits end with it. It's atrocious, why should it be so difficult to make a payment? I can't carry on with being a customer if this is how the business has gone. I've been with argos for years and spent a lot of money with them, I'm afraid I may have to stop shopping with them now.

Absolute clown show

They moved my payment date to the 8th without telling me. No email, no alert, nothing. Then, when I tried to log in to sort it out, the app completely locked me out. It refused to recognize my passcode, and even after resetting it, it still didn't work.
So because their app is broken and they changed the date without notice, they've slapped me with a late fee.
Unbelievable nerve. You break your own tech, lock your customers out, and then fine them for it? Sort your broken app out and waive the fee. Avoid this lot.

Had a text today to say a late payment…

Had a text today to say a late payment fee had been applied always had been on the 12th but they changed it to the 8th without telling me. Tried to go on the app wouldn't recognise my passcode. Phoned customer services and the assistant got me to download the app and register again. Never had any problems with the old app, haven't got that much left to pay so thinking of cancelling once it's paid off.
