I have had nothing but fantastic experiences with Bayfields. They spotted and referred my child for a lazy eye when every other optician I went to told me my child was bored and lying about their eye sight. Their knowledge and professionalism is demonstrated in every appointment, and they are welcoming and helpful every time. I cannot recommend this place enough!

I have been a loyal customer at this opticians in Maidstone for about 40 years through changes in ownership/management/premises (including Alison Wells, Rebecca Lewis, Pendleburys and Bayfields). I have always been extremely confident with my eye care for both contact lenses and glasses throughout. The staff have always been extremely friendly, professional and helpful.
My recent visit to Bayfields was especially lovely. I have been suffering from anxiety recently and arrived early for my appointment and was offered a cup of tea which was a really nice touch whilst I waited. A lovely young lady called Hummah started talking to me as I was sitting on my own (and probably looking nervous!). She said she could do my optomac eye scan as I was a little early and I assume Jennifer was with another patient still. Hummah explained that she was fairly new and training with the practice after university. She carefully explained what to do during the scan and what the tests captured which was really reassuring and informative. I then saw Jennifer the optician who gave my eyes a thorough examination and vision test using really state of the art technology! Jennifer has succeeded in tweaking my glasses and multi focal lenses prescriptions so they are much improved. They were pretty good before and I understand that multi vocals are often very tricky to get right. I have often seen Rebecca as my “usual” optician and both she and Jennifer really put you at your ease and inspire the utmost confidence in their ability to give you the best and comfortable vision. I then saw Belinda for my glasses who was lovely too and again had a lovely reassuring manner.
I cannot praise the staff at this opticians highly enough. As a customer you feel really cared for by everyone and feel the utmost confident in their ability and expertise whilst putting you at ease. This indeed is a rare and special thing in this day and age. I said at the end of my appointment (well over an hour plus) to Belinda that I had a lovely time and I really meant it!! 😄 So much so I wanted to write this review to say thank you to all and keep doing what you are doing!! From one very appreciative and happy customer and I look forward to my next visit 😄

My mother, Sister and I recently had our yearly checkup at Bayfields in Maidstone. Service, knowledge and expertise from Rebecca was, as always excellent. Rebecca is meticulous, patient, friendly and professional.
Michelle who helped us to choose and measure us for our frames was very helpful without being pushy. We did not feel hurried and our glasses were ready for collection in under a week. Receptionist (sorry don’t remember her name) was also very pleasant and helpful. Not the cheapest of opticians but having had some negative experiences with the quality of the lens elsewhere I feel confident with all aspects of the service here. Although it is part of a large chain the Maidstone branch has the feel of a small family business. Would highly recommend.

First time using Bayfields in Maidstone. Excellent service from each and every member of staff and a world of difference compared to the very large chains.
A very calm environment and no pushy sales talk.

Friendly staff. Reception even offered to make me a coffee as I had arrived early. Premises spotlessly clean and tidy. Nicely decorated waiting area with interesting pictures. See the same optician every time so she remembers my history. No sales pressure. They gave me my prescription so I could have got my spectacles from a different opticians - but this time no change needed

Very thorough examination and helpful explanation of problem

Great place to go as people so lovely there and make good coffee too! The best technology available is used by the optician and everything is carried out in a totally professional way. I would not go anywhere else.

Good communication. All very welcoming. My Optician (Rebecca) is extremely knowledgeable and happy to share the information. All of the above makes for a positive experience.

Thorough eye test and useful recommendations for eye care.
Downside. Booked on line, later contacted by Bayfields to change date and time. Was not seen at the re arranged time. Kept waiting.

Very Professional and friendly Optician. Nothing was too much trouble and my eye problem was identified and I have been referred for treatment.
Altogether a good experience!
