I am a bit disappointed that at the moment u can't use the lift in scarborough boyes to go upstairs which to my liking its stopping disability and disabled and people with pushchairs going upstairs because u can't use the stairs

Disability discrimination. I am exempt from wearing a mask for health reasons. I was spoken to like a piece of dirt and told I would be fined a thousand pounds by the police as its the law to wear a mask. Very bad customer service, was sworn at by a member of staff and called names, also have it all on video which will be going on YouTube and social media for all to see what fascists these people are.

I would of gave boyes zero stars if I could, went in their Saturday Grimsby branch, 1st the que to get in their looks like people are hofferyin for the bus, no barriers to state the que, their are 2 sets of doors, they have closed 1 set off, so to get in u are only allowed to go in 1 single door and pass the security guard, on Saturday I wasn't wearing a mask I am exempt, I was even wearing a badge to state this, the security guard was wearing a mask, I couldn't understand what he was sayin, he then pointed to his mask, I was very upset the fact he asked me especially when wearing a badge, I have a hidden disability and don't like talkin about, I found the whole experience very traumatic, when I was actually in the shop, their was no arrows to indicate where to go, all the end aisle were taped off finally got to the check out, it looked like a maze still with no arrows telling u where to go, their was no que so went to the checkout, the man behind the till said u have to go that way, I said theirs no arrows tell u where to go, he said he would serve me this time, I just wanted to get the hell out of their, they have 2 double doors at the entrance, instead of a in and out, it's 1 single door in and the same door to exit and the way I was made to feel was disgusting, I will never return

My wife & I visit the Scarborough store as often as we can. We shop there because of the Wonderfully Helpful & cheerful staff. They always go above and beyond what is expected of them. A special mention to the Lovely ladies in the Haberdashery department, that assist with the material cutting. They are so very helpful and cheerful. Also to the man who went into the shop window to give us the last Bird Feeding Station.
So, Thank you to ALL the staff of ' Boyes at Scarborough'.

ONE OF THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICES I HAVE SEEN …..
WENT TO THIS SHOP IN COALVILLE A FEW TIMES BUT GETS TO A POINT WHEN I JUST GAVE IT UP ….WONDER WHY YOU DONT NEED TO QUEUE
TO GET IN DURING THE COV -19 OUTBREAK …..THE STAFF SHOULD BE RETRAINED ON HOW TO SPEAK WITH THE CUSTOMERS AND TRY NOT TO BE RACIST...…...NEVER GONNA BUY ANYTHING FROM THAT SHOP......

Boyes is normally a brilliant shop, just like the old woolworths used to be, you can normally get the things that you can't get anywhere else, staff are brill,
Walked past today & noted that they close @ 3 pm (lockdown times) came back later @ just past quarter to 3 & on attempting to enter store was told we don't let anyone in after 2:45 pm,
Please Boyes make your mind up is it 2:45 pm or 3:00 pm when you close,
Please either amend your signage @ the door or inform your staff,
In the few seconds I was stood outside the store there were several other prospective customers who were refused entry to the store,
I'm sure if it had been Mr Boyes on the door we would have all been allowed in and made welcome, Boyes sort it !

Boyes is brilliant. People often forget about what they sell. The Darlington store is a decent size and sells alsorts. Sometimes its a bit messy but nothing a few minutes tidy wouldn't sort. My only down side is it looks a little dated, the look and feel but overall I'm a happy customer. Cheap and cheerful

Love the variety of goods, great prices, found a better choice of tool bits than B&Q!

I have always loved Boyes stores and shop there regularly whereever I go and there is a store. As a crafter this is my favourite part of the store. I have always been very happy shopping here. Recently I have tried a couple of times to buy something from the craft department and have been told it is out of stock. The sales assistants have not been very helpful or friendly towards me. This has made me feel like shopping elsewhere. Very sad about this really as I love this store.

So Boyes, seems like there is no other way to get my words out on your page due to there being no review or post section for customers. I recently made a complaint by email and phone, and even had a solution for my issues with you. You have cozen not to reply my last email with the solution i proposed.To start with i must raise the problem i had with one of your products, and then with a member of your staff at your Matlock store. I only had a small issue with one of your vacuum cleaners, the charger lead was faulty and broke off inside the charge point of the cleaner. This was maybe a 5 pound easy fix to replace the broken component. However, this lead to more than that due to your managers response to my complaint. Never in my life have i had to deal with a more difficult person. Her knowledge of customers rights left a lot to be desired. She told me that even if i had a receipt there would be no replacement or refund. She then went on to tell me, and also the other customers in the store that this was the 4th time i was complaining. Not only is she ignorant to the law, she is also a rude and stubborn woman, and may i add, a liar. Over the space of 1 month i had been purchasing an array of products from your store as i had just moved into the area. I believe i have spent in the region of 300 pounds with your company, and only once had cause to complain. That was for a set of cooking pans, that were of a very low quality, with the teflon peeling off after the first use. As we well know, this problem can cause health problems due to carcinogens being released from the poor quality coating. Under duress, she agreed to refund my money, but not before trying to tell me that your store didnt stock this particular item. I had to show her where the items were before she eventually buckled. In short, it really does seem like you have a policy of trying not to take care of your customers. A cheap 5 pound charger cable has left me without a vacuum cleaner while waiting for a solution. Your idea of going back to the store to speak with an unreasonable person was never going to work, i dont speak with liars like your manager. Your next proposal was for me to package and send the cleaner to your head office. The cost of this plus time also rendered this solution unsavoury. My solution was to pay for a new part, and you just post it to my address, this fell on deaf ears. I have in the last few days, resolved my problem of no vacuum cleaner by contacting the manufacturer. What a breath of fresh air. A 5 minute phone call resulted in your supplier sending me a new charger free of charge. You are definately a buyer beware company. I will never set foot in any of your stores again and will do my best to warn others about your replace/refund policy.

Boyes is one of my favourite shops in my town! :) I love all the different useful things there are! My favourite section is the yarn :)

on the19/4 i visited boyes store in bishop auckland .ibought an item for £3.99at the till i paid with a ten pound note .My change was £5 short the assistant said it was a five pound note.no i explained to her that it was the only money i had on my person.The assistant sent for help i assume management by this time there was a queue forming .plus a security guard came and stood in the vicinity.Its gettingq uite embarrassing now the person who came to sort it out,clearly was not to happy which showed in her attitude towards me .In fact i was quite shocked the way i was being treated.Left the shop after giving her my phone no .Someone rang me later and told me the till was in fact£5over .No opology just a curt message to say could i calling and claim my £5.just to make it clear anyone can make a mistake(re the girl on the till)but the person who was supposed to sort it out handled it all wrong .needless to say i won't be visiting this shop again

I generally shop at Boyes store in Ilkley, and on occasion in Bradford. Both stores, in particular Ilkley store,
provide great customer service and a wide range of products, including a good choice of haberdashery. It is a pleasant store with well organised aisles, and the majority of staff are very helpful and friendly which makes shopping enjoyable.
