Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the pricing, finding it to be outrageously expensive and a significant hike compared to previous services. Customers also frequently reported issues with their subscriptions, including confusing processes, unexpected cancellations, and the inability to access content they had paid for. The service itself was often criticized for its poor quality, with problems like buffering, programs not loading, and difficulty navigating the interface. Reviewers also expressed strong negative opinions about the marketing practices, particularly the excessive and repetitive advertisements, even for paying subscribers. The user experience was widely described as terrible due to constant interruptions from ads and a difficult-to-use interface. Some people were dissatisfied with the lack of an ad-free option, especially given the high subscription costs. A few other people also felt that the content, despite being plentiful, was overshadowed by the overwhelming number of advertisements.

Adverts ruin the experience.

The content is plentiful but the adverts are excessive and frequent, making it difficult to enjoy a single episode. A paid option to remove adverts or a plan without them would earn this a 5-star rating. I have since cancelled my subscription.

Misleading information regarding a non existent free trial

I installed their app on my Firestick and then clicked on a link for a 7 day free trial. I registered my details and found that they charged me immediately. I contacted customer services who told me that they don't offer 7 day free trials (despite many searches on the internet showing that they have done in the past) and that I must be mistaken.
Refused a refund despite contacting them within 15 minutes.
Watched one TV program which was pretty poor and riddled with adds, and haven't bothered since. I logged on just now to make sure my subscription doesn't renew which prompted this review.

I've just switched off watching gold…

I've just switched off watching gold hunters , I got absolutely fed up with seeing blocks of 6 adverts at a time and most advertising betting apps. It's a disgrace, I've paid to watch the Channel already and to suggest adverts help keep the cost down is rubbish. As soon as I can I will be out the contract that includes this channel.

Absolute trash

Absolute trash. So many ‘documentary’ channels, including Discovery+, just show cheap and nasty reality TV rubbish. You find better documentaries on YouTube.

Awful

Awful. Bought a monthly pass and I was unable to login. Despite many communications it took them over 2 weeks before they made an attempt to resolve the matter. Never again.

Too many adverts!!!!

Although the library is reasonably extensive, most shows are ruined by repetitive adverts every 5 minutes. Cutting to adverts during sentences, leaving important content out. Almost every advert is for online gambling, preying on vulnerable people in my opinion. So annoying 😡😡😡

Please please get ridof the ads

Please please get rid of the ads. They are repetitive and I have no way of skipping them. Even though I have sky glass, I purchased the pass thinking the ads would go away but it doesn't so I cancelled it. I love the content on Discovery+ so it's very frustrating.

Don't bother paying for discovery plus - waste of money

I actually spend more time trying to get working a programme I want to watch, than actually watching it! It just doesn't react to anything I do. You navigate around it - press on stuff - and NOTHING happens. What is the point? I'm going to report to Sky because it is a WASTE of my time!

Just diabolically bad customer support

Just diabolically bad customer support. I can't find my subscription so that I can cancel it, as it auto-renews.

Just a load of rubbish coming from the so-called customer support. More like customer wind up.

They did not have a clue on how to help and kept coming out with glib statements like "I will be sure to help you today" and then telling me to do something or follow a link that I had already been to or done.

I did enjoy watching the rugby, but in every game the audio kept distorting and I had to turn it down, then it would suddenly be too low and I had to turn it up. The commentary was also dreadful.

I don't think I got value for my 30 quid, such a rip off

Bring back International Rugby on the BBC

Not impressed with my first network exploration, and even after my own self-help to resolve the auto-renewal issue, not a sniff of contritness or compensation for such rubbish service, and my life has been incovienianced.

I would have given minus 5 stars if I could, I am very upset with the "could not care less" attitude masked by "have great day".

sky glass and discovery plus was…

We got sky glass and discovery plus was meant to be free for 6 months well 2 months in and many many attempts with discovery plus themselves to resolve the issue they still can't grant free access. They gave 1 or 2 weeks free vip access but why can't they give what was promised on the promotion.

app still buggy, support even worse

I have no interest in "premium" sports but have to pay d+ 800% more (£4 eurosport, £32 d+ per month) to watch cycling & winter sports just because they overpaid for football. they are incapable of fixing basic fundamental features of streaming eg casting, skip forward/back. First line staff have no remit to stray from parroting the same old script so 4 weeks after reporting a fault and being endlessly asked to" send screenshots, turn it off & on again, what device do you have" , they finally accept there's a problem, release a "fix" that only works 1st time after install!!.Now theyre wanting 'more time'. Shockingly inept, don't seem to have a help desk system, no ownership or escalation, no software release or management, what planet or century are they on?? Stupid pricing, stupid adverts , no flexibility to chose your package (take it or leave it) ,marketing weenies in charge need to go back to business school & learn about customer service. They have a (officially, nudge nudge!!l ) a monopoly so couldn't care less!
