I had a 500 error on my website and I couldn't login into it to fix it. So I asked for support, and not long after Rafael M. had fixed it for me. As usual DreamHost delivers. They are always friendly. Maybe that is why they call themselves DreamHost :}

Tech Support was SO RESPONSIVE

I had an issue with an offensive email/spam I continued to receive, and I emailed DreamHost tech support. Not only did I get a response that same day, but the problem was fixed within 24 hours of me contacting them. And the technician was very friendly and helpful!

I needed to reach out to the help desk…

I needed to reach out to the help desk in March and then again in June. On both occassions they were extremely helpful! They were quick to respond. They were courteous. They answered all of my questions. They provided me with material I could read on the topic, so that I had a better understanding of what the problem was. I am extremely grateful for their help!

Top Tier Help! I made a click/move that I thought destroyed all the work I'd done on my website over several months. Thankfully, Allan B. nixed that train of thought before the shock wore off & the stages of grief could even fully begin. Steer Clear of DreamHost: A Masterclass in Glitches and Ghosting

If you assume DreamHost's status as a veteran hosting provider guarantees a stable digital home, think again. My tenure with them felt less like utilizing an established service and more like babysitting a fragile beta test—constantly waiting for the next crash instead of focusing on my business.

Here is the unfiltered breakdown of where it all went wrong:

1. Talking to Brick Walls
Reaching out to DreamHost's help desk is an exercise in futility. Expect agonizingly slow response windows, only to be met with generic, copy-pasted templates. It was glaringly obvious that nobody was actually reading my support tickets; I was just trapped in a loop of automated scripts that completely missed the point of the issue.

2. The Phantom Invoice
The ultimate dealbreaker arrived in the form of an unauthorized mystery charge tacked onto my bill. I flagged it instantly. Instead of an explanation or a reversal, I was met with total stonewalling. To this day, they have pocketed that money without providing a single shred of evidence to justify the line item.

3. A One-Way Bureaucracy
Trying to escalate the billing dispute was pointless. The entire complaints process is a closed loop designed to exhaust the user. No matter what documentation or context I provided, the responses remained completely rigid. The verdict had clearly been decided beforehand, and objective facts meant absolutely nothing to them.

The Reality Check
Infrastructure: Erratic performance that obliterates user confidence.

Customer Service: Slow, robotic, and entirely unhelpful.

Financial Integrity: Unapproved account deductions with zero accountability.

Dispute Resolution: Rigid, biased, and completely lacking transparency.

The Verdict: Shop around. The hosting market is far too competitive to waste time on a company like DreamHost that acts untouchable. Once something goes wrong here, you are entirely on your own, and your wallet will bear the brunt of it.

Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service. These people will take down your site upon a mere suspicion -not offering the chance to examine DMCA claims- and will make you lose money in the process. In practice, this means that your competition might fabricate DMCA complaints and remove you out of the equation -with Dreamhost acting as an accomplice when killing your websites.
Furthermore, the hosting staff will take at least two working days to dignify an answer.
A bad hosting provider, and the worse decision you could ever make.

First time using DreamHost ProService

We had a fantastic experience using DreamHost ProService. We came across an issue that our 3rd party website developer could not fix. We contacted ProService and received an immediate response with a reasonably-priced solution to our problem. The ProService team provided continual updates throughout the 2-3 days that it took to address our problems. We are extremely happy with level of communication and professionalism in our dealings with ProService. We will use them again without hesitation.

Nearly 16 years of reliable service and great support

Hosting my websites with DreamHost since 2010 has been a great decision. Their server stability is excellent, meaning almost zero downtime. What I appreciate the most is their support: tickets are answered incredibly fast, and they always help me fix bugs, even when I'm the one who messed up.

The email hosting is simple and lacks the advanced features of Gmail, but it absolutely fulfills its purpose. A truly reliable partner for the long run.
