Horrific experience at Drivalia…Birmingham airport
Horrific experience at Drivalia Birmingham airport. Hostile and rude doesn’t cover it. Took forever to locate it and when we arrived the customer service guy was on lunch. We had three groups of people in front of us and it was horrendous. This lovely girl on holiday home from Australia had hired a car for a month. Someone had run into the back of her and she called to ask if she could change it. She was told she could and left her baby with her parents to drive the 45 minutes to the airport only to be told they didn’t have a car. After explaining that she had been promised one and needed to get back to her baby urgently as she was breastfeeding, the guy asked what didn’t she understand about no car being available, clicked his fingers and asked her if she expected him to make one out of cardboard! She was in tears. Next clients where treated equally as bad as were we. Do NOT use this company! Unbelievable bad service.

Car hire could not be easier
Car hire could not be easier. We used this company for the second time and we wouldn’t go anywhere else. They are great value for money, the team are friendly and efficient. Big shout out for Gareth too, we have dealt with him both times and he is just great.

This is the best company around for car hire

Disappointed
We have booked this car for nearly 3 weeks. We did not get the car that we requested when we booked. We searched for extra luggage space and got an MG. On our manage our booking it says a Skoda so they really are good even with admin and keeping up to date. The car was filthy with an empty drink bottle under the seat and bird droppings on the outside. The drivers mat is threadbare. With the upgraded insurance that they sold us we think that it was a waste of time with all the dents and scratches all the car and alloy wheels. Emails go unanswered, phone calls to customer service go unanswered, we hire a car for at least 3 weeks every few months and we will never use Drivalia again. Avoid this company.

They are running a classic fine print scam. They only accept credit cards that are chip and pin, not chip and signature and this is not explicitly stated but rather briefly mentioned. If you don't have the very specific credit card, they force to you buy a nonrefundable coverage package that is basically equal to the price of the rental. Do not use this company

To ensure a smooth rental process, we provide information regarding our payment and deposit policies at the time of booking and on the confirmation voucher. For clarity, our standard requirements are as follows:
• Security Deposits: We require a pre-authorisation deposit on a credit card in the name of the main driver (starting from £1500).
• Debit Card Use: We do accept debit cards; however, this requires the purchase of an excess waiver package to reduce the excess to zero. UK residents using a debit card must also pass a credit check or provide proof of employment.
• Payment Security: All deposits must be made with a physical card with at least 2 months' validity. We cannot accept virtual cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or cards without visible numbers.
• Exclusions: We do not accept cash or prepaid cards.
