Staff on store had no experience or knowledge, no stock held of the item I wanted so had to pay for delivery instead
Bike purchase
So far the purchase of a bike for my daughter has been easy and an extremely quick service. I am a little apprehensive about the delivery, having paid £19.99 and you are using 'EVRI'. we'll see how it goes.

Ordered a bike for me to pick up in store.
Received text message saying it’s being delivered dir to me . This is not what I wanted at all.
I opted to pick up in store to save delivery issues.
Rang store and they couldn’t be more vague about delivery and no help whatsoever.
I’ve reported issues to Brompton bikes who are monitoring this as apparently it’s happening far to often for their liking.so I still don’t know if it’s coming to me or coming to them. What a shower. No wonder they went bust not so long ago looking like it’s going under yet again.
I hope Mike Ashley gets to read this
I ordered a bike through Evans Cycles…
I ordered a bike through Evans Cycles and even entered a finance agreement for it, only to be left completely in the dark about my order.
I was not contacted with any updates, so I went to the collection store myself on the agreed date, where I was told the bike hadn’t arrived and that I would be contacted the following day. The next update I received was that the bike had been lost in transit and possibly released elsewhere due to high demand.
Despite this being an item already paid for and tied to an active finance contract, there was no attempt to resolve the situation properly — no replacement offered, no alternative suggested, and no accountability taken. The order and finance were simply cancelled without this being my preferred outcome, leaving me with wasted time, travel costs, and further delays in purchasing a bike.
All communication had to be initiated by me, and the overall experience showed a serious lack of organisation and customer care. For a company selling high-value items, this level of service is unacceptable.
I would not recommend Evans Cycles based on this experience.

Lost my parcel and had to wait more than a week for a replacement and no compensation for the delay.

Ordered a bike online 3 weeks ago with delivery date to be a week later and then had no update of delivery after the date passed or when it will be dispatched bike is available in stock online but customer service said the bike is out of stock and then all they suggest is a refund when I stated I don’t want a refund or wish to cancel the order they just asked again do I want to cancel order it’s like they reply of a text book
Delivery too expensive
Fab service however delivery was expensive for a balance bike. TBH I wouldn’t have bought the bike from Evans if I’d checked the delivery price however can’t fault the service 🙂
MANCHESTER TRAFFORD PARK SHOP IS…
MANCHESTER TRAFFORD PARK SHOP IS DISGRACEFUL!!!!!!!
My autistic son loves bikes and I was looking for somewhere to get him his first bike however when asking the staff for tips (as I know nothing about biking) they were very rude and dismissive when my son tried to describe what he wanted the staff laughed at the way he speaks due to his disability and would mutter under their breath whenever he would ask him questions. My son ended up leaving in tears and has been put off of cycling and bikes for the forseeable future.
Evan cycles Trafford park PLEASE AVOID
Evan cycles Trafford park PLEASE AVOID
I'm still only 80% happy with this service. I recently found out that the tires I was sold were Continental Gatorskins after I asked for the best off roading tires I have recently fallen and broken one of my ribs this being due to staff incompetence and negligence so for your own safety try better and more caring bike shops.
Poor customer service
Bought a bike, then had to pay £50 for a premium delivery from ArrowXL. This company called me to collect the bike, because they could not be bothered to attempt to deliver to my house. I live behind a wire but they made no attempt to gain access despite me having everything in place for them to enter.
I contacted both companies and all they could say repeatedly that the bike was delivered, despite me saying that it had to be collected.
Outrageous delivery charge and poor customer service from both. Stick to the better bike shops which dont actually even charge for delivery and its allot more premium!
Atrocious Service. Avoid avoid avoid!!
I wish i had checked reviews before ordering!
2 days ago i received the compeletely wrong bike. Not just the wrong size... Different make, style, size, everything!
As many many others have pointed out, their customer service is terrible and they will only communicate via Email which means they can effectively ignore you at will. I'm shocked to see that some have never gotten a refund.
At first, they proposed that they would collect the bike, await it's return to their warehouse, then process a refund. This would leave me (the customer) responsible for starting the entire process again (no chance!)
After pushing back, they suggested they process a replacement order but I would still have to wait over a week for the bike to be collected. I'm effectively acting as their warehouse for a span of 8 days, while the bike i actually wanted gets no closer to being delivered.
My assumption is that the whole process of...
1. Collecting the incorrect bike
2. Processing the correct bike
3. Delivering the new bike
will take 15-18 days. Meaning that - assuming the best - I will recieve my bike 23-26 days from date of ordering.
Since expressing my dissatisfaction with this, i have had 3x emails ignored by customer service.
Just don't. It's not worth it.
Awful. I had been warned.
Advertised Prime Attaquer V2 wheels, shipped V1 wheels (several years older, significantly worse IMO). Seems to have happened to several others if Internet is to be believed.
Unhelpful customer service with seemingly broken tooling so every email is treated as "the first email". Hard to keep any context to the interaction. Expect you to pay return postage even though the goods are not as described. After getting this far, you'd be a fool to return the item and expect anything but months of pain.
Won't be using them or their affiliates again.
Unacceptable customer service
Earlier this month, I bought a bike from Evans St Paul's. It took far longer to arrive than they said. They told me it was ready when it wasn''t, causing me a wasted visit. And today when I went back to collect it, I was spoken to very rudely - actually shouted at - by a member of their staff. I expect better, especially as I have spent over £1,000 with them. I am very much regretting using this branch.
I can't thank Chris enough
I can't thank Chris enough. He was so helpful. Ordered a bike but unfortunately the following day received an email to say it was out of stock. Tried everywhere to get another but all sold out. Contacted Chris and he found one in Bristol and got it secured for me. One big THANK YOU.
Very bad customer service.
Went to see if they could do my brakes. Said they don’t touch my make of bike. Ended up buying pair of brakes worth £70 in good faith. Said they would be ok for my bike.
Turns out they’re not. Took back day after and was told no refund only credit note.
Very bad customer service given wrong email to complain too. Very rude staff too.
Don’t buy from this amateur shop. Don’t care for customer only care about you spending your money there.
Great service and product advice
Purchased a beautiful Brompton from the Norwich branch. Great service from Rowan and the team. He also was at the end of the phone when I had a query. Very pleased. Thank you.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service
Lengthy delay tactics and then the chosen bike out of stock and even longer to issue a refund. In the time it has taken to attempt to resolve the issue and have the incorrect item picked up, ive ordered from a different online chain and had a bike arrive quickly with excellent service.
Do not buy from Evan’s cycles - I wish I had read all these reviews of others struggling with customer service before I ordered…
Total Scam, DO NOT BUY
Evans Cycles are running a Ride to Work scheme scam.
They advertise premium bicycles at amazing sales discounts in January. Knowing that people will jump on the Ride/Cycle to Work scheme and order. When you use this scheme you have a 14 day cancellation window otherwise you have to use your certificate within 3 months of issue.
When you order, say a £2000 bicycle, which they never had in stock to begin with. They send you a completely different, much cheaper bicycle. This locks you into their "returns" process. This process will take at least 14 days. With unclear guidance and a vague "refund" indicated. Of course by the time this is all resolved the "sale" has ended and you are locked in to having to spend money on a different bike at full price otherwise you are paying for nothing or lose your certificate.
Also, the customer service is AI. It cannot handle an email with multiple points and just responds with basic process steps.
A completely dreadful scam. I have escalated with my company as this is completely unacceptable.
