Good service but could be more helpful and commercial

I have been going to this shop for over 3 years. I bought a very expensive R&M bike from them (+£4000) and I bring it for a full service 2 to 3 times a year (which each time cost between £120 et £160). I guess you could call me a regular... The other day I was looking to buy some oil or a product that would help me lubricate the suspensions of my bike as it was creaking. They wouldn't give me a recommendation but instead asked me to bring the bike in a for a £30 check in. I understand everyone needs to make a living but after all the money I had spent there I was disappointed they couldn't give me a simple free advice. I resorted to bike forums and facebook groups to get my answers and yes some lubricant is all that was needed not some fancy investigation. Their bike servicing is very good but I always have to bring the bike back once or twice for fine tuning which again is disappointing based on how much they charge you for it. Also when I bring it back I usually get a lot of sass from their mechanic which again feels very inappropriate based on their pricings. If there was another R&M retailer near me I would probably give them a shot to see if they can do better. 3.5 stars for me

Excellent.

Excellent. Great attitude from all staff, great work.
I'd been dropping in to their shop a few mornings a week to put air in my tyre, and when i was let down by my usual bike mechanic i gave them a go with a chain set service.
They did a fantastic job, stripped it, cleaned it, replaced chain set, and all in a day. Couldn't be happier with their work and they were very pleasant, respectful and professional to deal with.
I forgot to mention the slow puncture when i left the bike for the service but a week later they fitted a new tube for me in 15 minutes.
Recommended.

Beware when going for repairs here and make sure to get a second quote.
I went into Epsom just to get a new chain put on. I was told my rear cog would need replacing(which it didnt) and he couldn't just replace the chain as it is a health and safety issue. Quoted me £120 at first, then I mentioned a spoke was missing and quote went up to £140.
Must have been replacing with a solid gold spoke, I'm guessing.
Long story short took the bike to a local repair man £25. Job done.

Fantastic from start to finish!

Happened to get a puncture near Fudges on Harrow Road and they were amazing! Repaired my tyre in minutes so I wasn’t late, were able to switch out my tyres for excellent new Kevlar ones that don’t get punctured all the time and most of all they were really nice, explained everything clearly and weren’t at all patronising to this totally novice rider - something I’ve found happens in a lot of other bike shops. Would totally recommend them.

Fudges £8,000 electric bike fiasco

Soon after buying two +£8,000 Riese & Müller electric bikes from Fudges, one of them developed serous faults. After many weeks spent in their workshops it was returned to us still faulty and it continues to break down on every ride.
Sadly Fudges have failed to offer any solutions and have failed to respond to our request for a refund of replacement.
We are now forced to resort to legal action to recover our money.
If I’d have known about Fudges serous lack of customer care I wouldn’t have wasted my time and money with them..

Great advice and service

Took my bike into Paddington store on spec for some unplanned crash repairs and a service. I received a warm and open reception by Alessio and the bike was taken in for an inspection. Unfortunately, one of the key parts needed could not be sourced in the time I had available - not just Fudges, none in stock at any Shimano dealer in town. However, at no cost the workshop straightened out my bent deraileur hanger so my bike was useable and provided an honest opinion of the service needs. Great friendly service by Alessio and his colleagues, I will return for the service next time I'm in the area.

Outstanding service from Alessio!

Outstanding service from Alessio!
I went into the Paddington store on Harrow Road and wasv given the best customer service from manager Alessio. He not only gave me sound advice on my bicycle and did his very best to work around my tight schedule. The turnaround was fast and the team did a superb job on my bike - it was like new! I highly recommend this store and particularly Alessio. Also Adrian was very helpful on the phone. Thank you so much! Grazie mille :)

Went in to exchange a £5 inner rubber…

Went in to exchange a £5 inner rubber tube and I have never been so disgusted in my life with the level of disrespect and rudeness from the "so called manager". Didn't want me to talk , didn't want to listen, didn't allow me to explain, had a very bad attitude, was very intimidating and patronising and even tried using blackmail towards me. Not human behaviour at all. I'm really quite shocked. Won't be going back there. Luckily if it's wrong again, it's only £5. Feel there was racism part played there and judging from other reviews , I'm not the only one. Steer clear of this shop if you don't want to mistreated or disrespected or looked down upon. Like I am really fuming.

Not for serious repairs

If you want serious repairs, stay away. Ok for brakes etc. Very disappointed with them. Just kept adding to the original estimate. Would have been better to buy a new bike.

Friendly customer service !

I was at work when I needed to find a local bike shop as my chain was rusted so bad . Was told to go Fudges Cyclestore by one of my young clients . I will be honest did not think much of it when I got there , but as soon as I entered I was greeted by Gavin who made me feel very welcome . The whole team seem to have a fantastic bond which clearly shows through work as it shows they enjoy what they are doing . Thank you guys ! And thanks for the Cadbury chocolate bar . As future customers don’t expect a chocolate bar , I’m pretty sure it was a one off !

Really pleased with my new Specialized Rockhopper!

Really pleased with my new Specialized Rockhopper Sport 29 and the excellent service I received from the team at Fudges Cycle Store...
I can’t fault them and would definitely use them again - no issues with recommending this company to my closest friends and family!
Thank you...

Poor service

I ordered a bike they had in stock.
4 days later after they had taken the money from my account I had heard nothing more about my order, so I called the shop to be told they didn’t have the bike after all.
The guy on the phone didn’t seem to care.
They refunded me the same day but I am not happy at all with their customer service and will never use them again. No apology. No answer to emails. They obviously have enough customers at the moment not to worry too much about new ones.

Great customer service

Great customer service, quick, to the point and helpful. Overall a very good experience. Picking up a bike during the pandemic was effortless, with the staff all complying with covid secure precautions and a gazebo outdoors to help customers waiting stay dry. Would definitely recommend for purchases.
