Recommended 100%

I have bought a number of guitars form Newcastle store and online from Edinburgh shop. Service and guitars spot on, Friendly very helpful folk who know their stuff. Also traded in. Like the nearby Richer Sounds (Hifi shops scoring 100% from me)Guitar Guitar is an employee owned business, so you can buy local, buy to support local but with advantage of a national business.

I have been a customer with Guitar…

I have been a customer with Guitar Guitar UK for the past few years I have bought quite a few guitars from them I just recently purchased an ex demo Sigma SDM 10E crossroads series dreadnought acoustic with spruce top solid mahogany body LR baggs pickup and grover nickel open tuners I have several acoustics but I had heard a lot about the Sigma guitars and I also read a few of the forums on those particular models I just fancied something different to play with I was blown away by the tone of this Sigma and they are absolutely amazing nice and loud for fingerpicking and playing rhythm they have good sustain and the action also feels really comfortable I have been playing it every day since I bought it and it is also true what a lot of other guitar players say about them they definitely sound great for the price they are built really well too I already have a Gibson Montana J45 standard I purchased last June a Taylor GTe urban ash a Taylor 117e Grand Pacific a Fender California series 12 string acoustic and my Fender performer Statocaster My 21 year old daughter also loves her new Squier classic vibe 50s sunburst I bought her for Christmas Anyway I really love this new Sigma It is definitely a keeper I value it as much as my other acoustics well worth the £849 I think this one came from the Epsom store the guitar also looks absolutely fine cosmetically for an ex demo not even a thumbprint on it when I recieved It really lovely guitar I am extremely pleased with Guitar Guitar UK and the above and beyond service that you have given me over the past few years I also enjoy the long chats online with your fantastic staff I have been eyeing up those Martin D28 acoustics too but I think I may have to save for a little bit longer especially after buying the J45 last year and the Sigma recently as I have those two on V12 finance and I also need to bump up my savings after buying three of my other guitars cash I only just heard a Martin D28 being played recently and I really loved the tone I probably could have bought one by now If I had heard it a few months ago but I wasn't thinking about Martin's back then LOL and it would be great to have one sitting beside my J45 I will get one some time in the future need to save hard though Anyway Thanks Guitar Guitar UK Andrew Glasgow 🥰🥰

Last month during the Boxing Day sale I bought a PRS A20 e and it plays like a dream. The staff in Camden has been my go-to for years and aside from buying my black Strat there, I needed an electro acoustic. That entire staff if as professional as they are approachable and caring.

After being let down by another retailer, I needed acoustic dreadnought within two days. Purchase, post-sale communication and delivery all went without a hitch. Very happy.

Just had an amazing experience with Simon. We were buying our daughter her first electric guitar and he spent a long time explaining the guitars, ranges and the amps that were needed and how they worked. Simon didn’t rush us and allowed us to have some time trying out the guitars. He was very thorough. We will definitely be back. Thank you

Disgusting Service, Great guitar once I eventually got it b

I ordered a Martin Dreadnaught JR acoustic guitar which was dispatched and received on the 6th of January. Upon opening it I realised they had sent me the wrong guitar, the older Martin version which is cheaper and has much less features. I spotted this straight away so not sure how a guitar shop didn’t notice the difference.

In addition a customers returns receipt with their details on was left in the bag showing they had returned the guitar to the Newcastle store and this should have been removed considering it was being sent out to me and contained customers data which again was rather poor.

I called GuitarGuitar to explain the issue and the member of staff Michael couldn’t seem less bothered if he tried, a collection was organised for the next day and DPD collected on-time . The return was then delayed and not due to be back to GuitarGuitar until Friday which wasn’t down to GuitarGuitar which I understood as it was due to the weather.

I called and spoke to Micheal again on Thursday, he was again abrupt and i asked if the new guitar could be sent out as the other one was on the way back and had now been delayed. He said he couldn’t as it wasn’t policy. When I then asked if he could reserve one for me incase it went out of stock he again said he couldn’t do that which I found odd as I had purchased it. I asked if I could speak to a manager or someone else as I was finding Micheal rude and unhelpful. He stated he was the only one on the customer inbound calls and he said he would forward my details on to them. I then tried to carry on the conversation and he said “as I have asked to speak to a manager there isn’t anymore he could do for me and put the phone down.

I rung back straight away and asked why Micheal had put the phone down on me. I was told this was Tom now speaking who was far more polite and understanding and said he would order in the acoustic from the Martin Distributors and once the guitar is back they will get the item shipped out over the weekend. I don’t understand why Micheal wasn’t able to do this like I initially asked which would have saved time.

The weekend passed and still no guitar dispatched to me so I called again on Monday at 5.30 pm and spoke to David who was much nicer and said the guitar was being sent out and had a DPD tracking number assigned to it. He then provided me with this in an email and actually seemed very helpful and understanding. He said he would keep an eye on the tracking and be in touch once delivered.

Finally a week later the correct Martin Acoustic Arrived and I’m really pleased with it. I wouldn’t recommend shopping with GuitarGuitar as when there is an issue with your order it takes them a week to sort it out and no one seemed empathetic or understanding that the service i faced was beyond acceptable. I am also still waiting for my call from a manager as writing this review.

Hanging up on a customer was shocking, there was no swearing or abuse from my side so I don’t understand the need for Michael to be so rude. The 3 times I spoke with him on the phone he was abrupt disinterested and very rude. Tom and David were much better but I feel the time frame it took for to get the correct guitar to me after their error was extremely poor and not acceptable in the slightest.

Rip off trade in price

I traded in a guitar in new unblemished condition 3 months old from camden that cost £750 and wanted the classic vibe that was £400 I was offered £270 off and had to pay £129 and they were too busy to do a set up because of room it's a case of one in one out the worst deal I ever done I have bought 3 guitars from them in the past all costing over £1000 each and expected better it was at the epsom store and I won't be spending another penny with this company and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.total rip off and poor service

I ordered a Martin SC-13 guitar online

I ordered a Martin SC-13 guitar online, then changed my mind, and arranged to go to the Epsom branch to return it and try an alternative. I thought I had found what I was looking for, but the following day, I returned that as well. I did end up buying a superb AER Amp and Telecaster.

Guitar Guitar was not only the cheapest place to buy these items, BUT the customer service and overall support received not only online but in-store at Epsom, was 1st class! Thank you, guys. Will

I was thinking about getting a new…

I was thinking about getting a new Rickenbacker bass, the 4003Ssw from them until I did some research, Some interesting facts! The full Recommended Retail Price (RRP) for a new Rickenbacker 4003SW bass is typically around £2,734.00 in the UK. The US MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) from the official Rickenbacker price list is $2,099. Guitar Guitar are £265 over RRP in the UK at £2,999, and it's officially listed at that on their website.
I really can't see any reason why they should be selling at this unbelievably high price except for the fact they have no competition left in Newcastle, Sunderland or even in Durham, as much as I would love to get it locally I can get a much better price on the net actually saving hundreds of pounds on the same Bass.

A worthy alternative to the high street.

I, (ahem) needed a new guitar setup cheap and fast as I don’t have my setup at hand right now. For under £300 picked up an entry level Ibanez, audio interface/amp and the various bits and bobs, eg picks, strap, my favourite Ernie Ball strings etc! OK, not exactly a ‘69 Fender and pro amp that would work at a festival, but good enough to satisfy me for now!
Guitar guitar got it all to me in under 24 hours on a Saturday for no extra cost. I messed up the order a bit and called them to ensure all was good, superb customer service, none of this automated AI rubbish. I actually got to speak to someone for a change…
Recommended, if they’ve got what you want/need and the shops are closed or you can’t get there and/or can’t get bulky stuff back under your own steam, (like me) - I’m all up for supporting the high street, but sometimes it’s just not logistically possible!

Updated review

Update...I want to update my previous feedback as the situation was resolved really well in the end.
Following my review, Phil got in touch personally, took the time to explain what had gone wrong, and genuinely listened to my concerns. The communication was clear, honest, and respectful, which I really appreciated.
I went back into the store, completed the trade-in, and ended up purchasing an amplifier. Stuart in-store on the day was excellent — friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to deal with, which made the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable. The process felt fair and unpressured, and it reminded me why I’ve always enjoyed visiting the shop in the first place.
Mistakes can happen, but it’s how they’re put right that matters — and in this case, GuitarGuitar absolutely did that. I’m happy with the outcome and wouldn’t hesitate to shop there again.

Reply from guitarguitar

Hi Mark,

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review of your experience - I’m sorry to hear how frustrating this has been.

I completely understand how this will have left you feeling about guitarguitar, and about your guitar in particular. While we do have criteria for buying and trading in instruments - which can change depending on factors such as condition, demand, and current stock levels - I appreciate that this wasn’t communicated clearly, and that it’s left you feeling as though your guitar wasn’t valued. That certainly isn’t our intention.

I’m also sorry that you didn’t receive a prompt response when you raised this by email. That’s not the level of service we aim to provide.

I’ve escalated your query to a member of the store management team, who will be in touch to discuss this further. In the meantime, if there’s anything else I can help with, you’re very welcome to contact me directly at adampomphrett@guitarguitar.co.uk

Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback - while it’s never nice to hear where we’ve fallen short, it does help us improve going forward.
