Excellent customer service
When attending Halfords Lancaster store I was welcomed the moment I walked in the door by a very helpful man called Ben. His customer service was very good as he took me to the product I needed and was extremely knowledgeable about the various products available. I found him to be very polite and friendly.
Would give zero stars,
Would give zero stars,
Put a an electric bike that I purchased from them 2 years ago into them for repair 10 1/2 weeks ago and was told it would and was told it would take a couple days, since the the only communication I have had is me trying to contact them via customer service, dozens of promises of a call back 2 "engineers" saying it would be repaired in a few days......it is beyond ridiculous.
How can you have a service this bad and still be trading, also the customer services and complaints department is equally as bad.
Dangerous Child Trailer & Ignored Safety Complaint - Case #28610723
I am extremely disappointed with Halfords' handling of a serious safety issue. I purchased a child trailer from the Rugby store less than a year ago, and it has already developed structural failures: the screws keep loosening and the fabric is tearing at load-bearing points. This is a major safety risk for my child.
Despite reporting this (Case #28610723), Halfords closed my case and claimed it is "out of warranty"—which is a blatant lie as the product is under a year old. I was promised an update by 8 PM today, but instead, I received an automated email saying the case is closed without any resolution.
It seems Halfords does not take child safety or the Consumer Rights Act seriously. I am now escalating this to Citizens Advice and Trading Standards. I expect a full refund immediately.
Misleading. Is it intentional?
I tried to purchase their online exclusive Essentials 382 P21w car bulbs at £1.39 for the pair, which are the bulbs my car uses for the reverse light and rear fog light. Their website would not allow me to put them in the basket without submitting my car registration. Fair enough. After doing so, it still would not let my put it into the basket, suggesting that it may not be suitable for my car. But it would let me purchase the Lucas brand of exactly the same bulb at £6.49 for the pair. Curious! I became suspicious that maybe the Essentials bulbs were a lure, to then buy the more expensive ones. Would Halfords really do this?
I called Halfords to find out and spoke to an understanding lady who told me that someone would get back to me shortly. I soon received and email saying that the product is not in stock and not available for sale. I replied and asked if they would be back in stock or taken off the Halfords website. They replied saying that they will be taken off the website. So I went to another retailer and purchased two 382 P21w bulbs of the Lucas brand for 99p each.
A week later I noticed the Essentials 382 P21 bulbs at £1.39 for the pair were still on the Halfords website. I wanted to write a Trustpilot review, but I called Halfords again, just in case updating their website takes some time, as I do not want to wrongly accuse them of being intentionally misleading. Again, I was told the bulbs would soon be removed from the site.
Another 9 days has passed and the Essentials 382 P21 bulbs are still on the Halfords website. I value the Halfords stores and online; truly handy to have, but now I am not sure what I'm supposed to believe. I don't know if they have become intentionally misleading. I sincerely hope not, but I have had an issue with Halfords before. I have reported my findings to the Citizens Advice consumer service.
I went to the Tallaght store in Dublin…
I went to the Tallaght store in Dublin - needed advice about a battery problem in my Toyota aqua - the service I got was 5 star - the young man fitted a new battery which was quite a difficult job as it is under the back passenger seat !! He was so helpful - pleasant and professional and did a first class job - thank you
Recommend 100 percent

Had a serious issue with Total Parking…
Had a serious issue with Total Parking Solutions who sent me a PCN for £170. They claimed that I had left the High Wycombe car park when I had actually gone into the Halfords store to purchase some oil. I paid the fine as they ignored all my letters for appeal and sent the PCN to a debt recovery agent without any communication with me and ignoring the three appeals plus the substantiating evidence I sent. In total frustration I contacted Halfords head office and they refunded my money together with a lovely apologetic email for which I thank them for considering my case and for contacting me promptly, which was more than TPS did.
I can say that Halfords do genuinely value their customers for which I am truely grateful.
Excellent helpfull friendly service…
Excellent helpfull friendly service from Errol at the parts counter.
I had an issue with windscreen wipers i had purchased for my Astra gtc.
The parts finder for yhe wipers did not include my model so I purchased Vauxhall Astra wipers blades.
On my return Errol was very helpful in finding the correct wiper blades and recommend other blades as the bosch set were not in stock. This helped me achieve my aim of purchasing blades as mine were required for an mot the following day.
Errol was very pleasant, cheerful and helpful. Service like this always make the shopping experience better.
Thank you Errol and halfords.
Shocking service level from Halfords customer service
Rang Halfords with a simple query regarding a replacement tyre valve for an electric bike I purchased from them. Not able to speak to the store so left a message with the call centre who tried to contact the store but no reply and said store would call me back. No call back after 2 days so rang again. This time kept on hold for over 30 mins in total only to be told that again there was no answer from their Norwich store. Received multiple apologies from the call centre contact - Sino. However, system of very remote call centre contact and no ability to speak to a local store clearly does not work and needs to change!
Order unfulfilled & no support
I placed an order via PayPal which hasn't been fulfilled. The online chat service is not available (Monday 10am). The website doesn't appear to work very well in general. I'm writing this review in the hope that customer service will review it and refund my order.

We gave our car for a full service to the Woolwich Halfords in September. When the car came back from service we reported to say that it looked like the oil had not been changed. They promised that the oil had been changed. Having driven less that 1000 miles we had engine lights come up to say that oil was critical low. It looks like the engine oil had not been changed. We called up to complain only to be dealt with a rude member of staff. This is not the first time we are experiencing problems at this centre. Anyone looking to use this centre, do at your own risk as they are the worst centre we have been to
Bike pump broke, left me stranded
I bought a bike pump which stopped working, leaving me stranded 20km from help when I punctured. Buy cheap buy twice, shop elsewhere.
We purchased our bike for our daughter
We purchased our bike for our daughter. Ray from HALFORD in Liffey Valley was very helpful in giving us information regarging the bike , He was also very efficient in building the bike so we could collect it the next morning.
Thank you so much you put a giant smile on my daughters face
Halfords and the Defence Discount Card
Visited my local Halfords to buy some car maintenance kit. At the checkout I asked if they accepted the Defence Discount Card, but when I presented my card I was told they only accepted the card via a mobile phone app. I have a mobile phone but do not use any 'apps'. I was then asked for an email address, and because I wasn't prepared to hand over my email address I was then was refused a discount on the products I was buying..
I served my country in the armed forces for 30 years and because I choose to live my life without resource to a smart phone, I feel that Halfords policy towards me, and others, is discriminatory and insulting.
Wake up Halfords, not everyone uses a smart phone or wish to disclose personal information just to buy some car polish!
Oh dear
Oh dear. Should have read the reviews first. Ordered a simple box of racking for the garage. Turned up on time but the box was all broken and bits falling out as the driver carried it to the door so I rejected it. No idea whether all the bits were still there, nor whether they were damaged as they fell out - and not my job to check! Called to cancel and promised a refund within a couple of days. Sorted out my own replacement in the meantime. Two days later, no refund and the same driver tries to deliver the same bashed up parcel again. Clearly rejected and called Halfords - again. Promised a refund which had still not turned up. If not with me tomorrow, then I’ll be calling the bank to start a chargeback. Won’t be using them again - don’t need this level of incompetence
Update. So ow they tell me their courier might try to deliver against n and I need to reject it, then it might take up to 3 weeks to send MY money back. This is not a case of me changing my mind, they sent out faulty goods. I don’t care when get get the parcel back. They are scammers. NEVER EVER AGAIN
Do yourself a favour, just order from elsewhere
Just don’t bother, no matter how good the price or how convenient it may appear - because it wont be. You’ll order something online to come to store the next day, you’ll get no notifications and you’ll turn up at said date/time and find nothing there. Or, items will be missing.
Staff seem clueless to help, even the manager will be a waste of time.
Also do not order license plates from here, I have never seen such dreadful quality. Poorly printed and onto wafer thin steel! Absolute tatt and you wont get a refund either.
Just a clown circus, start to finish.
no refund and no communication.
I am extremely frustrated that Halfords closed my support case via an automated email despite my previous correspondence (April 23rd) remaining ignored.
I still have the damage, no refund and no communication.
Really really poor quality number…
Really really poor quality number plates, full of air bubbles even after 2 attempts to get it right. No offer of refund either. Staff said they would get their plates elsewhere so I have!
I ordered a car cover online
I ordered a car cover online; the website deducted my money but never provided an order number. That's surely illegal!
Ruining a supposed magical dayHaving taken my randchildren to…
Having taken my grandchildren to purchase two bikes,I was greeted and helped by no one. Then when I decided to pay the extortionate prices for the bikes as grandchildren wher smitten with them a girl appeared from a back room, I asked her if I could purchase the bikes she said I could but they wher display bikes and a ten pound per bike charge would be needed as they had been already built ( NOT A SIGN IN SIGHT)...stating this!!! While looking at One bike in store I was looking at didn't have the back wheel turning, after asking the technician to free the wheel he told me it couldn't be done as the wheel is warped and it always happens with that bike...which Halford is selling for £150 and are displaying it in their stores for customers to purchase....truly shocking!!! Finally i pay £334 for two child's bikes take them out the store and get stopped by a member of staff asking if I've paid for them as security tag's where still in place VERY EMBARRASSING!!!! Not a pleasant experience, I will now never use Halfords again and tell everyone I know not to.....
We visited Halford in Aintree ind park…
We visited Halford in Aintree ind park on Saturday 18/04/26 and purchased a Cosmos bicycle for my 4year old grandson. ( cost £199.00) plus a helmet and gloves. Inclusive of £10 to assemble the bicycle. The sales agent told me the bicycle would be ordered and ready for collection on Thursday 23/04/26.
On collection the agent tried my grandson for height of the seat. Brought the bike home and my grandson spent the next few hours riding. Later on Thursday we found that the seat was twisted from centre. I tightened the seat, then inspected the bike. To my disappointment i noticed that the bike was the one displayed in the showroom.
So i paid for a New bicycle but received the showroom display model. Already assembled. I contemplated bringing the bike back to Halfords but how do i take a bicycle from a 4 year old.
Hence this review. Very disappointed with the service and also the fact that i had to recheck all of the screws for being safe, when i wrongly assumed Halford had assembled a new bicycle.
Very dissatisfied with the service.
