First time buying from here, did not expect much but a bunch of cowboys, advertise a pallet which contains a Air Con Unit and seen a box with a hoover in the pallet. So brought it just for the Air Con Unit as advertised, picked it up and got home only to open the wrapping and find pieces of plastic in the Air Con Unit packaging which looks like a aerobic step, no Air Con Unit, the hoover box had a broken fan inside it.
Basically you not getting what is on the box and what's advertised, you pay for whatever is in the box and all other stuff is broken or pointless, all the other stuff I can accept, it a gamble but when they tell you there a Air Con Unit you expect to get a Air Con Unit not the box and whatever crap is inside. You just paying for second hand broken rubbish that placed in a box then this is advertised as what's on the box. You learn from your mistakes and won't be going again.

Completely misled by this auction. Received broken and damaged products that were described as fine. Total waste of money. Avoid this place!

Package arrived with 3 essential parts missing, many emails & calls later… still not received 2 weeks later!
First time using this site…& last!

Ive had sone decent stuff from here. However,as lots of other people have said the electrical items are more often than not broken or filthy. I bought a boxed microwave oven thatvwas both dirty and broken. They use the line thst customers can view lots in advance which feels like an excuse for the poor condition of the goods, but for those of us are online auction customers this isnt really good enough. I would have thought that the basic standard for sellers would include an honest description of whether they are in working order and clean condition, as it goes now sellers can get away with using the auction to dispose of useless products and get paid for them too. While auctioneers let this practice continue people will continue to get ripped off while sellers profit from rubbish disposal, As it stands now there is no incentive for tgese people to take responsibility

If there was the option to give zero stars I would. Absolutely awful experience. Bought a mirror sold, to open it and find it is smashed into smithereens. A label on the side stating 'for the skip'. Ended up with glass over car and our floor and had to dispose of it at the tip. Complained straight away and it was then dealt with by the manager who refused to refund. Why on earth would you sell someone a smashed up mirror. Will never use again!

We have shopped for years with John Pye and spent literally thousands of pounds with them renovating our sons and our houses. I know the risks.. sold as seen expect damage and check the description carefully. You just have to lower your expectations and hope it comes good. Which mostly it does.
However.. we bought a dressing table The box was fully sealed but On assembly we realised that there was no table in the box! Just legs, base an a drawer.
The description of a “table” is inaccurate as a table cannot be a table without a top! Its primary function is for placing objects on!
They usually state if parts are missing or damaged or if it is only 1 of 2 parcels but this did not.
I fully accept and understand that their goods are sold as seen, but this does not protect the auctioneer or seller from liability where goods are misdescribed or misleadingly labelled under the consumer rights act of 2015 and the misrepresentation act 1967.
I emailed them, sent pictures then got the standard response “sold as seen”
This has annoyed me as no attention was given to the fact that we are good customers and a token good will gesture refund (only £25) wouldn’t have hurt them. I wouldn’t of written this review or started buying items elsewhere
It’s not a huge amount of money paid it just the principle of not caring for their customers that has annoyed me
Thank you for the cut and paste reply.. I did view the sealed box at marchington and go most Saturdays. It doesn’t change the fact that you stated in black and white that the box contained a table. It did not.. just a box of bits.. you usually state incomplete or show damage but you didn’t on this occasion
Thank you

Do not but boxed or electrical items. They hide all the faults and issues deliberately concealed faults or damage. Not sure how they allowed to continue to operate

Avoid like the plague - auctioning non working goods and listing items such as batteries are included when they are not. Would give zero stars if possible, we bought 6 items all do not work. Complete and utter con, my own fault as sold as seen, but from my experience just selling broken or faulty dangerous goods..

Five stars all the way. The customer support was absolutely fantastic. You responded quickly and solved my issue instantly. Highly recommend. I do appreciate you Oxanna. Thank you very much.

I bought a Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 two weeks ago, and now I already need a new battery because it drains completely and only lasts about two hours. For the price of £220 plus the repair, it’s really not worth buying anything from them. I won’t be buying anything from them again 😟👎👎

Had to contact the Nottingham branch regarding items purchased and not received.Ryan took the call and advised me to fill-in a form that I found on the website. Once sent ironically Ryan took the case up and with in approximately an hour he had sorted and messaged me of the out come. Ryan was empathetic, respectful and professional. He deserves a pay raise if not promotion A1+++++.

AVOID at all costs. Don't be that person that sees a bad review and thinks it won't happen. The fact this "company" so many bad reviews speaks volumes. I've been in contact with bbc watchdog so hopefully they'll get exposed as the money grabbing thieves they are

Just like a lot of reviews on here it has certainly gone down hill. Have had so many things now that are not working and basically junk.nothing in the description to say what condition it's in. I've had electrical and tools that are near retail prices by time you add fees and you received junk although I have had good stuff in the past. They say well you can turn up and inspect but you should be putting true descriptions on items if you are able to bid online. JOHN PYE listen to your customers before you loose them.

Do not. I repeat do NOT buy online. If you cant view, just dont.
We need to all get involved to let rip off Britain know and unsuspecting public.
The charities they support with our hard earned cash, needs to know too.
I lost 100s of pounds this week on a cardboard box and was told, terms and conditions are sold as seen. So dont sell online then. The products conpletely broken. There are 1000s of us in same boat.
They will use their terms and conditions of viewing, so a case of tough luck. Be warned. The photos mislead you. I cant understand how they are legal.
The rip offs go on and on... no wonder director adam and his dad have social media posts of rolls royces and exotic holidays and likes of me a small business in tears losing 400 quid for norhing. Just terrible.
There are facebook pages just for complaints alone !?
John Pye - their online sales scams need to be shut down.
Trust me. Just dont.

JOHN PYE in their response have taking the attitude of complete laziness and basically saying that the delivery contractors can do what they want
WE HAVE HAD YOUR MONEY, UP YOURS CUSTOMER.
Customer services has still not responded as promised in the last email dated 20th may 2026
If you cant collect it dont buy it.
Their delivery contractors dont give a damn if it arrives in one piece or ten.
I have had 4 items delivered and broken in transit.
The company are now ignoring me about the latest pile of fire wood delivered. Sideboard delivered upside down dragged around on its top, the driver walking along the underside breaking the base boards.
