Had a problem with an item that was won at an auction. After contacting customer services, I was dealt with by a polite gentleman called Logan.
The problem was sorted out without any issues with the help of Logan who was very responsive and helpful.

Was in hospital unexpected.
I was 3 days late picking up a tiny box because I was in hospital.
John Pye Auctions charged me a extra 60 pounds for keeping the box.
The items were already junk.
Worst company I have dealt with
I have won several items from here, some have been ok a lot haven’t. My last one was 3 garden strimmers which I got for a decent price, but when received them they all came with batteries and extra parts but when I tried to charge the batteries and use the strimmers none of them worked. If you do buy electrical stuff make sure it’s unused and wrapped because the used items are usually rubbish.

Everytime I visit Trustpilot I see the bad reviews for John Pye Auctions getting worse. Greedy people go on the auction site and bid rediculous prices for items for which they have only seen a few photos. If an item is in a box and they show a photo of just the top of the item, there is a reason for that, good chance the item has physical damage they do not want you to see. Of course they are a bit dodgy, they are an auction site that operate in the greyzone. If some idiot bids £80 for something that is worth £50 to make sure they win but really hope they will get it for less, they will pay £80 you can rely on that, It is not Ebay. People crying about hidden charges. There are no hidden charges, the charges are plastered all over their website, whatever the winning bid is, you add 25% buyers premium, then add the postage, then add 20% VAT and that is what you pay. It could not be simpler, a 3 year old could work it out. I am afraid that when you have this many stupid people packed into a small country like the UK then I fear for its future.

Waste of time you bid and the price always get pushed past the retail price with all there costs and hammer fees, i have found you bid and within 10min you are out bid, this place is a scam as im sure they bid themselves to push the prices up, use with caution ⚠️

The photos do not tell the full story, bargains to be had. Had a slight issue with a description, Persephone was brilliant.

I purchased an ninja air fryer from this company. There were limited photos but one in a box and of the back of the air fryer. The item arrived which is in an absolutely disgusting state. The grease has leaked out and even soaked the internal packaging. It’s vile! No photos showed the extent of the filth and upon contacting them they state there is nothing they can do. They state there are viewing times to see the items which i wasn’t aware of nor do i live in any close proximity to any sites. I would expect more accurate photos of the items in such a disgusting state! Extremely disappointing and won’t be purchasing anything again.

I’ve just bought an outdoor sofa. It’s arrived missing half the frame so it’s useless and I can’t get the missing parts from anywhere.
I’d avoid as you don’t like what you’re buying and whether it’s worth it by the time you’ve added extra charges and delivery. Now stuck with a useless item that turned out to be expensive.

I’ve been buying from this company for a few years now with mixed success especially regarding the electric items be very wary of them but my latest experience has left a bad taste in my mouth I bought a high end mountain bike for nearly £500 when my colleague turned up to pick it up they informed him it was missing and we would have to put a claim in for it which was done a few days later they offered a refund no apology or explanation do I accept that this may happen and took the refund which I am now struggling to get of them not really acceptable from a company this size so be very wary when dealing with them

DON’T PLACE THAT BID! if you’re thinking of buying from John Pye - DON’T!
They sell faulty goods that are not described as faulty - Something that seems to be a legal requirement for any other auction company.
Their customer service is disgusting. Their hidden charges are extortion.
I’m amazed that this company can legally trade in this manner. So openly. They basically declare they’ve conned you into spending your money and there’s nothing you can do!

Great place to buy branded pieces very cheap.Got my food processor, kitchen mixer, luxury shoes and children toys from there. Also very quick and helpful staff, I had a incorrect invoice and May and Julian really helped and informed me in all steps while solving the problem.

You can get lucky and grab a bargain. But be very careful, they are very deceptive, often posting inflated rrp prices in there adds, clever photography and vague listing information all to try and make you pay more and be left disappointed with no come back. They sell broken/ damaged items, fake/ tampered with items and If you don’t view the item you are screwed basically. That’s another one of there clever tricks to complete the scam. So just be really careful, you can get a bargain but eventually they’ll get you.

This company is horrendous. I bought two power tools from them, upon there delivery I tested the tools and both are completely broken. No mention of faults on the listing. I will be requesting a refund as is my right under the consumer act. Please do not purchase from this shady site.
