DON’T PLACE THAT BID! if you’re thinking of buying from John Pye - DON’T!
They sell faulty goods that are not described as faulty - Something that seems to be a legal requirement for any other auction company.
Their customer service is disgusting. Their hidden charges are extortion.
I’m amazed that this company can legally trade in this manner. So openly. They basically declare they’ve conned you into spending your money and there’s nothing you can do!

Great place to buy branded pieces very cheap.Got my food processor, kitchen mixer, luxury shoes and children toys from there. Also very quick and helpful staff, I had a incorrect invoice and May and Julian really helped and informed me in all steps while solving the problem.

Purchased an item, courier lost it, customer service investigated and received full refund. Thank you Felicity for your help.

Bought few items from them but most come Brocken or with parts missing which they haven’t stated. Strongly not recommend this anymore

You can get lucky and grab a bargain. But be very careful, they are very deceptive, often posting inflated rrp prices in there adds, clever photography and vague listing information all to try and make you pay more and be left disappointed with no come back. They sell broken/ damaged items, fake/ tampered with items and If you don’t view the item you are screwed basically. That’s another one of there clever tricks to complete the scam. So just be really careful, you can get a bargain but eventually they’ll get you.

This company is horrendous. I bought two power tools from them, upon there delivery I tested the tools and both are completely broken. No mention of faults on the listing. I will be requesting a refund as is my right under the consumer act. Please do not purchase from this shady site.

I would like to thank John Pye for always being helpful and transparent and on this particular occasion I would like to extend my appreciation to Ryan G from the Customer Service Team. Communication was excellent and every effort was made to prevent me paying extra charges for having to change the delivery date of my purchase. I really appreciate that and will remain a very happy user of John Pye Auctions. Never let me down in the years I have been using them.
Kind Regards,
David Nevins

Scammer Alert —Buyer Beware – My Experience with John Pye Auctions ⚠️
I recently purchased a Dyson vacuum cleaner from John Pye Auctions. When it was delivered, I discovered that a crucial component required to connect and operate the machine was missing, making the item unusable.
I contacted their customer service immediately and was asked to provide photographs, which I did. After reviewing the evidence, they responded by stating that I should have been aware of the missing part when bidding and refused to offer any refund or resolution.
As the vacuum cannot be used in its current condition, I have decided to return it to them. I am unable to recycle or dispose of the item myself, so they can decide what to do with it once it is received.
Based on my experience, I would strongly advise anyone considering buying electrical items through John Pye Auctions to exercise extreme caution. Make sure you carefully inspect all photographs and descriptions before bidding, as you may have little recourse if essential parts are missing.
This is my personal experience, and others may have had different experiences, but I felt it was important to share as a warning to potential buyers

Had a terrible experience with an item I bought from them that was not properly described .
I purchased a dusk chest of drawers for £230 plus delivery £59, which was a saving of just £10!! But when the item arrived the box was damaged and as I was building it I discovered a broken part and a badly damaged section that makes it unusable .
Contacted customer services and they said I should have traveled to Chesterfield from Essex to view it before I bid.
I said they should have taken a picture of the damage and describe it properly in listing, no refund or contribution, just a total waste of money.

If I could give 0 I would, bought a “lot” advertised as two items, 1 was delivered, a steam cleaner, came without a water tank so I bought a water tank, item still doesn’t work, contacted them about this and the other advertised item being missing, “well you got what was in the photo” “you should have attended the sale” “you could have tested the item if you attended the sale” no I couldn’t because a steam cleaner requires water and this had no tank! As for the other item, a shark corded vacuum cleaner it seems tho it was in the lot description and what I based my bidding on that it doesn’t exist! Will they give me a refund No, even tho on the consumer rights act the description of the lot has to be correct and in this case it wasn’t as I only received 1 item. DO NOT BUY ANY ELECTRICALS FROM JOHN PYE, YOU WONT GET A REFUND WHEN YOU GET THEM AND THEY DON’T WORK, WHICH IS 95% OF THE TIME
Edit After refusing to back down and using the only thing available to me I have received a 50% refund, The consumer act doesn’t cover auctions of second hand items, and you will find this in John Pye terms and conditions but it does cover that the items must be “as described, the lot I bid on has a description of two items and as I only received one I had a case. This is why they will never tell you the condition of an item! Even tho I received a 50% refund it was a battle to get and took threats of going to the media, and posting all over social media about them, as well as the clause for auction sales to get it. If you have any sense you’ll stay clear of anything electrical

Do i keep thinking i will get a bargain there, only about 5 of 20 item`s bought there have been any good , losing hundreds of pounds , i keep saying i will go and view , but the measley 2 hour viewing slot is rubbish and they know it. Plug on it run a mile .

If I could give a minus rating I would. John Pye Auctions is a compete con. They hide behind their terms and conditions which basically say that they don't take any responsibilities whatsoever.
DON'T USE THEM.

This has been a great find! I've had some brilliant items, saved me a fortune following a recent house move and starting with virtually nothing. Staff are super friendly, and customer service is responsive (Sophia was lovely today).

So far I've ordered 3 things, a £150 headset for £57, a £100 dual monitor wall mount for £30 and a £900 monitor for £444.
Unfortunately the latter was damaged in transit (thanks DPD) but customer support was very quick and helpful.
A full refund is currently being processed, many thanks to Ryan G for his very quick and polite support.
10/10 would recommend this auction,
just read the description carefully as some items clearly state that they are broken.

Paid £230 for a £250 chest of draws, when it arrived it was broken and useless , contacted auction and they said I should have gone to chesterfield to view the item and they couldn’t do anything, so I now have a £230 pile of chipboard !!! Spent £1000s with this auction over the years, but if anything goes wrong YOUR ON YOUR OWN!!!!
Terrible customer service policy.
