I was passed on to these by my…

I was passed on to these by my insurance company for a car accident that was not my fault. I do not think that they did much at all to fight my claim, despite me constantly chasing it up, and over a year since the accident they have now closed the file.

Motor Accident

The person I dealt with all the time, Shannon Fairhurst was very easy to speak to and helped me understand the process all the way through. She helped with things I wasn't sure about and understood my situation. I feel I would have gave up if I had not had her support having not dealt with anything like this before. Friendly, professional and helpful

Wouldn’t recommend really poor service…

Wouldn’t recommend really poor service instead of giving you a solicitor they give you a paralegal who doesn’t care about you and are really lazy. Takes 2 months to wage your time highly recommended me go down tribunal route but now pulls funding and ask me to then pay £15k! After the shoddy service you gave you ask for money and you’re not even a solicitor!

Your policy does not provide for you to be represented by a Solicitor however we ensure that all cases are allocated to case handlers with the necessary experience to deal with the claims and in this instance, your case handler was also supervised by a Solicitor who approved the advice.

Our role as legal advisors is to provide our clients with our reasonable assessment of the legal merits of their claim by applying the relevant legal tests to the facts of the case, and this means that regrettably we cannot always give our clients the positive advice they want to hear.

Your concerns regarding our advice have been formally responded to by our Customer Services and Compliance Team.

Your funding was not pulled, rather it was withdrawn after the claim was assessed as not having sufficient prospects to qualify for funding.

While we provided you with advice in respect of the costs of representing you on a privately paying basis I am satisfied that you were also advised that on the basis of our assessment we would not recommend that you do so.

I highly recommend Kerry Smitheram…

Civil dispute managed by Lyons Davidson (LD)

Jonathan at Lyons Davidson (LD) gave us tremendous support throughout a difficult time. He was always available within LD's response times always giving us clear advice.
Our claim took over 3 years to reach a successful conclusion at mediation where Jonathan was very supportive.
The time to reach a conclusion is no reflection on LD but rather an indication of the pace the law works at.

Great help and assistance in my legal action..

My car insurance company put me in touch with Lyons Davison Solicitors after a road traffic accident when my car was hit from behind and pushed into the car in front.
The case handler appointment to assist with my legal claim was a lovely lady called Freya Simpson based in their Edinburgh office who looked after my claim.
Freya kept me well informed with regards to how the case was developing and was always available for advice. She was very approachable and nothing was too much of a problem. The legal action has now reached its conclusion which I'm more than happy with and I thank Freya and Lyons Davidson for their assistance in the matter. Going forward I wish Freya a very successful career in her chosen field in law and thank her for help in my case.

Lyons Davidson help us win our negligence claim.

Terrible service from the start

Very poor service from the first message you sent us.
We felt thoroughly mucked around, like pawns in a game and we didn't know the rules.

You wrote to say you'd reviewed all the evidence of our case and advised we settled for 50:50. After about two weeks of trying to contact you about this on the portal, I talked to someone on the phone and was told you had no evidence from our car insurer and had read nothing. Your company didn't ask for the information and I had to chase you multiple times to do this.

In addition, multiple times we received notifications saying you'd sent us letters or online messages and we received none. Again, I had to chase this.

Then you said you'd made a mistake and our case couldn't go to mediation because it happened in Feb 2025.

The whole process was baffling for us as lay people. The court pack of evidence was only sent the day before the case which was too late to do any corrections or discuss it.

No advice was given about how to prepare for court or what to expect so once again I had to phone to ask.This all meant we couldn't trust you.

The whole thing has been awful.

Please start to be truthful about what you say to clients. Complete tasks you say you will complete, actually gather evidence and read it before advising clients. Offer clear advise that's based on your work to read evidence.

Natalia Paluszek, 5 star advisor

I had an accident that wasn't my fault. I was hit from behind whilst stationary at lights. Most of the advice I was given by people was to give up and its just one of those things.
However, I managed to get probably the best advisor there is. Natalia Paluszek, was brilliant from the start and an absolute credit to Lyon Davidson.

She constantly kept me up to date, replied to all my messages quickly, and kept reassuring me through out the process.

The other person denied liability, and I was close to giving up, but with Natalias professional advice we sent everything I had over. She managed to get me a great result, even though my car didnt record the incident.

Natalia is by far the most professional, courteous and hard working person ive ever dealt with.
There wasn't a single message ignored, all my questions were answered truthfully, when some people lie and tell you what you want to hear, she was always honest and I cant thank her enough.

For anyone needing a solicitor, I cant recommend using Lyon Davidson enough, and if Natalia is anything to go by, then everyone there deserves all the credit possible.

In what was a bad day, she turned everything around, has given a great and positive outcome and Lyon Davidson are lucky to have someone who works so hard for their customers. Even if the outcome had been different, there isnt a single thing I could fault with Natalia.

I hope her manager and senior managers see this, as she is an absolute perfect employee and I will always come back to Lyon Davidson if I ever need to.

They either have disappeared or just appeared on me

Unfortunately, I am having to submit a Subject Access Request to get access to my closing letter so that the PHSO can pursue process. It's a shame they just blank you after you are no more use to them. Another firm who reviewed my case on contingency answered an enquiry six months later on the same day. They just disappear or are they closed permanently? I am very upset and medical negligence is not a great thing to go through.

Request another solicitor - do not use

My late father was a barrister, and as a result I have always had a deep respect for the legal profession. Sadly, my experience with Lyons Davidson has significantly undermined that faith.

Over the course of four years, communication has been consistently poor. Emails and portal queries have gone unanswered, telephone contact has been extremely difficult, and I have repeatedly had to chase for updates. My case handler has changed at least three times, resulting in a lack of continuity and accountability.

The medical assessment arranged felt rushed and impersonal. Due to the severity of my back pain, I sought a private specialist consultation at my own expense. Despite providing this report, I was informed it would not be relied upon. I also had to gather and supply my own medical records, which I would have expected my solicitors to obtain directly.

Although an award has now been agreed and paid, I am still awaiting receipt of the funds due to me. After four years, this is both frustrating and deeply disappointing.

Overall, the experience has been marked by delay, poor communication and a lack of client care. It has been an exhausting and disheartening process.

If your insurer appoints Lyons Davidson, request another solicitor. DO NOT USE!
