I like pure gym - close to my house, I can go there anytime I want. However, during the summer period, the air quality is really poor. It's hot and stinky from all the people's sweat, it's stuffy as w... See more

PureGym is a useless gym that has basic fitness machines and equipment. The lighting in PureGym is quite dark. A staff at PureGym in Bristol Harbourside was rude to me and wrongly accused me of sleeping in PureGym. Don't waste your money, don't bother joining PureGym because you may regret it.

There are plenty of pros and cons to this gym.
Pros - It's big, has plenty of brand new equipment, classes and staff on hand at all hours.
Cons - The lifts don't work most of the time, so it's not a good fit for people with mobility issues. The showers are very temperamental and the changing rooms often smell bad and can be a sauna.
Aircon is also temperamental at times and often fails at the same time as the lifts.
When things are working, it's great. When they aren't it's frustrating.

I ticket the wrong box when I joined online and couldn't get entry to the building as it thought I needed an access induction. I must have pressed the wrong button on my application. I pressed the call button and the Manager came down and let me in and reset my account there an then. Really helpful. The gym itself is clean, lots of choice of equipment, hasn't been too busy when I go (off-peak membership) and not too intimidating. You can just go and get on with it and nobody bothers you.

Why is there no MIND class anymore on Saturdays at 1pm? This was quite popular, and I loved it. Now all of a sudden this has been taken off the schedule. Why take this class off when I was enjoying it. I tried the Core class at the same time for 10 MINUTES and I was the only one booked in.

The lifts are constantly breaking, this time they've been down for over four months with no sign of being fixed, which means walking up 7+ flights of stairs. The air con is never on, even in the spin studio which is floor to ceiling glass on two sides and is an absolutely sweatbox after a sunny day. I've had to stop going to spin classes on hot days because it feels dangerous. The instructor shouldn't have to start a class by giving instructions on what to do if you overheat.
PureGym should give those of us still paying for membership a discount while these issues are fixed because this is a seriously subpar experience compared to what was sold when I signed up.

I have bought the most premium fee every month. But it didnt fix the lift. we need to climb 5-6 floors. Im so disappointed with the service in here

The lifts were out of order, and the gym had a strange, unpleasant smell.

How often is this gym cleaned? The machines are filthy and during summer it's too warm, machines don't have inbuilt AC anymore, barely any AC in the gym

I love my gym. I have been using PureGym for over 10 years now and I will not go anywhere else.
It is convenient, affordable, practical.
I made many acquaintances. It feels more like a "private members club".
I like the classes but also doing my own thing. I enjoy both equally and I don't feel judged.

I had a free entry code that I used but I was still charged £7.99.

I wasn't given the option to apply the promo code "savehalf" and therefore I ended up paying the double for the first month. When I asked the staff at the gym the very same day I signed up for this to be corrected, no help was given to me other than the words: "if you missed it, you missed it I'm afraid". I will continue going because I don't want to lose the money that I already paid but definitely won't recommend anyone to sign up.

Not the best experience at 7am on a week day. Bought a day pass but only received the receipt and no access code. Walked in with a delivery guy but couldn’t find anyone who works at the gym to help me. Walked like three round through the gym without result.
After that I tried to leave but was not possible to leave as I needed a code for that again.
If you have some money to spare, I would urge everyone to pay a bit more to get some service at another gym.

Awful - dumbbells everywhere, plates lying about in random places. Do not visit if you want a decent work out. Yes, this is the users that do this but PureGym could resolve this by monitoring it
