The equipment
The equipment, staff and the place was amazing. It is way better than my old gym I am glad to had changed to pure gym!

Simple - exactly what it should be
It was very clear to follow the layout of what was required. I changed the membership a couple of times and it carried this out without any problems. Very pleased with the whole easy process.

I absolutely love training at Riverside PureGym
I absolutely love training at PureGym Norwich Riverside when I'm in Norwich for the weekend! I usually attend a different PureGym in London during the week for work, but I must say Norwich Riverside is by far the best – it’s the biggest, the cheapest, and the atmosphere is just amazing.
A special shoutout to Criss and his Sunday morning Circuit and Cycle classes – they are the highlight of my weekend! Criss is always so friendly and brilliant at what he does. He checks in on everyone throughout the class, offers helpful feedback on technique or pace, and really motivates you to push yourself safely. His positive attitude and attention to detail make all the difference!
The gym itself has such a great vibe – they play motivating music, and what I love most is the natural light thanks to the big windows, even in the studio! Training with a beautiful view of the river and the trees makes every workout feel even more energising.
Thank you, Norwich Riverside team, for creating such a fantastic place to train!

Overrun With Children
Gym is overrun with children under the age of 16 in the evenings.
They are very obviously underage and several have told me they’re 12 and 14 years old, staff are aware yet do nothing to get them out.
As a result they hog machines in clusters of 5 or 6 meaning no one else can use them, they mess around (running around, screaming and unsurprisingly act like children) and break equipment as a result.
The gym has a real problem with multiple going into the entrance pods at the same time.
Again staff are aware yet do nothing to stop it from happening, this makes a mockery of people who actually pay for their memberships.
Classes are good, however sometimes start before the advertised start time meaning that on occasions I’ve turned up at the start time but can’t join as it’s already started.
I’ve been going to this gym for about 4 years and there has been a dramatic decline in the last four months.
Complaints raised are not followed up or given feedback.

I'm the hygiene and health and safety…
The hygiene and health and safety is a concern.
The changing rooms reek of backed up drains. The toilets had little to no toilet paper. The toilets and the sinks were filthy.
Where are the cleaning facilities to wipe down equipment after use.
The place was so busy the air was hot and thick. Which leads to my next concern what's the fire drill for the faculty. There was 99 people and one stairway with 2 people at a time to get out to the exit. What is the plan in a fire. There was no staff around and I was there with my daughter to try the facility first before getting membership but at last the pin didn't work so I was left to have to buy a membership. Which I haven't been able to view what is what or change any of the plans as the app keeps closing. It's all extremely frustrating I've deleted and redown loaded the app with no joy and talking to other ls it's not just me it's slow.

Excellent gym
Excellent gym, very convenient with 24 hr opening times and easy to access. However facilities can occasionally be left slightly messy out of hours at weekends. Staff tend to wack the volume up on the music so bring your noise cancelling headphones phones! Good range of all equipment and classes and cost is low

It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this. Thanks, PureGym

The gym is excellent value for money…
The gym is excellent value for money and has a personal touch. I feel safe and my personal instructor Talia gives me the confidence to succeed in my goals .

Within the Gym Rules we do confirm that all members should bring a gym towel to wipe down any kit after use.
Our gyms will be deep cleaned every night with high-grade anti-viral disinfectant. The team will also clean every piece of kit and surface throughout the day, from dumbbells to treadmills and everything in between, so you can train with confidence. Thanks, PureGym

If you're referring to the yanga water machines, this benefit is paid for via the yanga water bolt-on or a PLUS membership.
You mentioned this is your friend's benefit, and similarly to your PIN to enter the gym, should not be shared.
We have free regular water fountains located around the gym .
If you'd like access to the yanga water benefit, please upgrade in your members area online or get in touch with our Member Services Team and they can help .

Do not use exercise mats!
Letting people use exercise mats BAREFOOT is disgusting! It’s bad enough when people walk around in their socks without shoes but seeing a man exercising barefoot on a mat that people use to lay down on?! That is a different level of disgusting
