Great lenses

During my 2 visits, staff were very friendly and supportive. The optician spent time explaining my results of my eye test, ensuring I understood.

When choosing my new glasses, staff gave me space to browse but were also available for help.

I have A. M. D in both eyes.
A young man did the initial eye inspection, he was very polite and professional, explaining everything he was going to do, which I found very reassuring.
When I went to have my eye test with the opthalmologist, the young lady who was doing it was told about my A M. D, she said her Mum also had A. M. D, so she understood the problems I have, I e, everything being blurred, having parts where there was nothing (like white lines on the road missing when we are travelling in the car ( my wife driving as I haven't driven for 17 months, when my left eye started with A. M. D.).
She also was very polite and professional, giving me all the time I needed and not trying to hurry me.
All in all, my visit was very relaxed.
The glasses I have enable me to read better, but parts are still missing but that is down to my condition.

My review is based on Specsavers Newcastle branch. To cut a long story short, had my eye test, ordered my glasses which they messed up twice with the wrong prescription despite giving them a month to sort it out, but in the end they just messed me around so much I had to get a refund. Dont get me wrong they were very apologetic - but messing up the order in same way twice is extremely poor service and not really acceptable as it has ended up in multiple wasted / unnecessary journeys to try sort it out.

Leanne David and Chloe were outstanding in their care knowledge and expertise. Chloe met me at the door and put me at ease. Leanne treated me expertly through all the steps needed and answered my questions simply and fully. David did my eye examination thoroughly and explained each step. He then explained what was needed next, to Leanne who carried out his instructions to the letter. I came away from there confident and happy, I shall certainly return next year for my annual review.

Put my mind at rest about recent eye issues service was great,nice staff..got to pop back to have glasses tightened.

All was well with the appointment. Chose my new glasses and waited for them to be in. The glasses came in early and they rang me to collect. I collected the glasses. Got home put them on and realised the lenses were dirty. Wiped them clean but they would not come clean. I then realised the glass itself was marked. I took them back and they agreed to replace the glass. 2 weeks later I rang as I had not heard anything. Yes they were back but no one bothered to ring and tell me. I took the glasses as the marks were gone. One week later while cleaning the glasses I have noticed a gap. The glass doesn’t fit the frame. I have been going to Specsavers for years and never had these issues.
