Coverage promised, but I still got sold extra insurance
Booked via Sunny Cars expecting no surprises because the voucher says coverage is included and extra insurance at the desk is not necessary. At pickup (Hertz/Thrifty Stuttgart Airport) they still added “Super Cover” (€188.94) on the contract. It duplicates broker coverage and was not clearly explained. They chose one of the bad reviewed local renter available (Hertz with 1.2 star review). Please be careful about the local renter they choose (not just this company)
I complained and the response is basically “you signed.” That’s not protection — that’s passing the problem back to the customer.

Sunny Cars did not pass the flight number to the car rental station at the airport correctly, so they were closed upon arrival. Furthermore, they denied reimbursing the costs for accommodation bedded to wait until rental station opened. Rentals ration confirmed they would have kept open, if flight number had been received

My experience with Sunnycars has been…
My experience with Sunnycars has been extremely disappointing.
I booked a rental car through Sunnycars, operated locally by Drivalia, for Catania Airport (10 October 2025). Unfortunately, I was unable to collect the car due to a condition that was never disclosed, neither in the confirmation mail.
Sunnycars’ confirmation email included Drivalia’s rental conditions, stating clearly the requirements for the credit card. I read everything carefully. There was no mention anywhere that credit cards from online banks without physical branches would be refused.
This restriction was only communicated at the rental desk, making it impossible for me to pick up the vehicle despite having a valid MasterCard, exactly as their conditions required.
I contacted Sunnycars asking for a full refund, since the failure to use the car was due entirely to missing or misleading pre-contractual information.
Sunnycars acknowledged the issue but offered only a partial refund with a €75 penalty, which I find unacceptable.
I also requested to be contacted by phone, which never happened.
This experience shows poor transparency and inadequate customer care. I strongly advise to never booking through them

We understand how frustrating it must have been to arrive at the rental desk and not be able to pick up your car. The reason for this was the type of card presented: unfortunately, our local rental partner Drivalia only accepts credit cards. Debit, prepaid, Visa Electron cards, and Girocards are not accepted. While the voucher does not explicitly mention online banks without physical branches, the essential requirement is that the credit card must be issued in the country of residence and must be a physical Visa or Mastercard. Rental partners may apply these conditions strictly to ensure compliance with their security and payment policies.
These requirements are clearly outlined in the rental conditions, which are part of the booking confirmation. We know that this detail can be easily overlooked, especially when the card itself looks like a regular credit card. That’s why we’re constantly working to make such conditions even more visible and easier to understand.
We’ve already looked into your case and offered a partial refund, as the rental conditions were met from our side. We’re sorry that this solution didn’t meet your expectations – and we’ll gladly take your feedback to improve our communication further.
Also, we regret that your request for a phone call wasn’t followed up. That’s not the level of service we aim to provide, and we’ll make sure this is addressed internally.
Even though this experience didn’t go smoothly, we hope you’ll give us another chance to show you how easy and relaxed renting a car with Sunny Cars can be – with no hidden costs and lots of included extras.

They work together with enterprise, Spain. I reserved a seat suv. They offered me a car covered and filled with mud. I refused it and got a Peugeot suv. I have returned with no damage to the car by me! The lady said everything was oke and I will receive my deposit back. The tire and rim are damaged but not by me. I documented everything. It was all good. Next day 1300 euro vanished from my bankaccount. I tried to contact sunny cars but they take 4 to 6 weeks to respond. Avoid these people at all cost working with enterprise
