DONT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE NOT REGISTERED

For anyone else who has been scammed using this company, I contacted them using the refund request on their page. I politely explained that they were falsely taking money from people when they are not DEFRA registered, I expected a full refund in line with my consumer rights or I would report them to trading standards...refund issued in full.DONT USE THIS COMPANY!!

Myself and my dog lived in Australia

Myself and my dog lived in Australia, and after us both moving here to the UK I needed to change her reg details.

I was sucked in to part with £18 from this scam company paying through Paypal. Of course the details didn't change and they also decided that I was to pay a recurring yearly fee??!

I cancelled with Paypal and will hopefully get a refund, but Pettrash can still take money annually out of my account. My bank said all they could do was cancel my card, which is a pain.
Is there any other way please to stop them scamming more from my account? Tia.

Scam

Like the others here, this company is a scam and I should have known better! It came up on top in Google and being new to Australia (as they advertise for Australia too) I trusted it. I forgot who my vet had recommended and should have double checked. Make sure you cancel your credit card as they may automatically keep taking out the annual payment. Disappointed that Google supports the advertisement of scammers.

It’s a scam

It’s a scam. Google happily take the scammers’ money to get advertised above the actual microchip sites. I paid to transfer a cat to my name and address in 2017 but he was still registered with the previous owner. They take your money for absolutely no service. How is this allowed and do they have no shame? The consequence is pets not finding their way home and possibly worse.

Same as other says- This is a scam site and took advantage when transferring chip details for my new dog. Google really should remove this site- but they're happy to take money for this site to continue- Unethical and fraudulent

DO NOT REGISTER ON THIS SITE - You'll lose your money too!

Warning - Warning – Warning – IT’S A SCAM - DO NOT REGISTER WITH THIS SITE – Warning - Warning – Warning - PayPal will not refund you either !!!!!
I’ve tried the website for a refund numerous times – all these attempts have been ignored.
Too late, I researched them and absolutely everywhere warned me not to pay them anything as their database is not accessible to UK vets and not a Defra approved database. Also, they are based in the States and not in the UK as their name would suggest – “UK Pet Chip Registry”. They do not conform to UK Government standards.
Even veterinary professionals are being warned about this bogus website advertised on Google that is offering pet microchip registration. The Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) has issued the warning about the UK Pet Chip Registry.
Why have google continued to have them come top on a search for microchip companies…
Oh!! Yes!! That would be them (that’s google) putting profit above everything!!
!!YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
You need to go to the following site to make sure your micro-chip has been correctly registered on an approved UK database: check-a-chip dot co dot uk. DO THIS NOW, so you can be sure if your pet is lost his/her chip’s correct information should get you reunited.

Disappointing experience

Disappointing experience. Should have read the reviews first but trusted google when I typed in micro chip for pets
Google brings this company up first which is a concern as it looks like a company based in uk which I’m now more dubious about. If reports are correct this company is not uk gov approved so you have to go into their website to find your pet.
I have asked for my £17 refund no response from them at all
Now have a claim with PayPal so will see how that goes
Plus I’ve cancelled the annual £17 charge thereafter
Feel a bit foolish but live and learn
Just hope to prevent others making same mistake

Nightmare

I registered a little dog I took in but it was decided he would have the best life with my son. I asked PCR for a refund for the payment plus a second payment which went through at the same time so total £36. No reply to any requests over the last few weeks, nothing. I have been in touch with Citizens Advice, and Paypal

Do not fall for this scam

Do not fall for this scam. I registered my dog with these scammers, and only when he went missing (and luckily found), did I discover that this site does not register your pet on a UK database. Luckily, he is now properly registered, Be aware that if you register with this site, you may not get your dog back. I was told they are registered in Zambia
