I am a victim as well

I am a victim as well. I paid 1 euro for this "free trial" by usenet.nl and I tried to cancel it yesterday as well as today only to realize through these reviews, that it is a scam. And the bigger problem is, I didn't pay using paypal, but using my ABN AMRO bank account. So, I emailed the ABN AMRO services to find out how I can prevent future automatic debits from my account after this subscription expires (14-11-2019). Please comment on this approach to the situation.

They charge 1 EUR for free 14 day trial period.

1 star is too much. They charge your card 1 EUR for a free 14 day trial period. In the system you see invoice charged 0, but as soon as you check bank account you see 1 EUR was debited and waits to be withdrawn. Only possibility is to cancel you card how to stop this. Their hot line does not react, when you want to cancel account you need to change password and the to finish process call to US or UK is needed. No reactions via E-mail. Just bxtches that scam you for money. Hope Allah will punish them soon.

COMPLETE SCAM! DO NOT USE THEM!

This site is totally deceptive and a COMPLETE UTTER SCAM. They lure you in to think there are legitimate files to download, but instead they trick you into registering for a 'trial' account and make it impossible to cancel. In the end you need to call them to cancel your subscription but judging from the other negative reviews, i doubt they do!

If you have registered using Paypal, you can go into your Paypal settings and deactivate the automatic monthly payment through there. That's what I did to cancel any payments to them.

Scammed by Usenet

I subscribed for Usenet and cancelled it after a few days, but did not receive a confirmation.
Two weeks later I was charged € 85,41 for a 9 month subscription.
I contacted them by e-mail, their answer was that "You had the opportunity to cancel any time during your free trial period to avoid any further extensions / charges after the free trial expired online, by calling our customer service hotline during our business hours or by sending us a written request via our contact form."
Legal action is not possible because they are based in San Marino, which is not a member the EU.
Stay away from them !

Scammers BIG TIME!!!

Scammers BIG TIME!!!! i agree with another reviewer that their site should be closed down pronto! Easy to sign up but they BS about being able to cancel during trial period. RUBBISH.. i cancelled my via their support form site but they led me to believe that my cancellation has been confirmed by asking the for the reason for my cancellation. By end month, they still charged me US99 on my card. I lodged a complaint and they ask for proof of cancellation. Of course... i could not find it anywhere. Guess they never sent confirmation via email. Sigh. My first time being scammed ever! Well.. i believe what go around will come around. So, watch out Usenet.ul!

Don't come close to this company ,I have cancelled the service but they still insist to enforce upon me another yearly renwal of the service claiming that I have not cancelled early enough to prevent the automatic renewal this is a shameless company.

I like everyone else signed up for…

Like everyone else I signed up for Usenet, but canceled after 2 hours as the service wasn't what i wanted.

Luckily i paid with Paypal, so i cancelled to ongoing financial agreement with them.

Now most people are saying that you can't cancel, but i emailed them to say i wanted to cancel and they did so a day later with the following email:

"Confirmation of your cancellation!

Hello M.........

Your contract with customer number 10416032 will presumably be terminated on 06/25/2019 and it will not be renewed anymore.

Should you decide to return to usenet.nl after your contract has expired, you will receive a discount of 15% for our bestseller Relax in the first year if you use the following link:"

So don't despair it can happen - hopefully you used Paypal and not anything else. - Very shady tactics though.

I regret not doing research before subscribing this site.
It's a terrible experience. It become a trap once you registered for a free trial caused you cannot terminate trial by yourself.
I contacted customer service but got no response.
Do your own research and be careful with this site or you will loose your money.

Usenet Customer Service review

My husband accidentally accepted the free trial while trying to download a free application and neither of us knew it happened. Tried to cancel and was told today since we freely signed up for the trial and didn't cancel then, they will not refund the $99 they took from our paypal account (they are cancelling the account so another payment won't be taken next year). So we are out that money. Worst customer service I've ever had and will never sign up for usenet in the future.

Word of advise do your research before accepting a trial account from usenet or anyone. Most companies will refund if not used before cancellation request but usenet does not.

Terrible service

Terrible service, and traps you into a yearly contract once a free trial period expires. Truly one of the worst experiences trying to cancel this service that has no value.

A SCAM I was so silly to become a victim off.

As they never have what you are looking for and the files are wrongly named whilst being riddled with viruses, I removed the app and started to cancel. I then spent hours and hours trying to cancel them and discovered that the cancellation process does not actually EXIST. I repeated the exercise over 15 months. Meanwhile the money was being taken. I eventually cancelled through good old PayPal.
When the annual "subscription" was "overdue" I began to receive additional charges. We are now at the threats of a Collection Agency. All of which in Scotland, I am lead to believe, is illegal.
So, like so many others over the world, I will continue to do nothing till they get the message.

They are close to be called a "criminal" organisation, don't be tempted

Criminal organisation, they create phony websites that link to Usenet, making you think there is a nice download after you have taken a trial subscription (also: you already pay 1 euro for the free trial). The trial is later on automatically changed to a high monthly subscription. The do not send email confirmations, so it is really hard to check in at "your account" to manage you subscription etc. Then, when you want to cancel, you have to work really hard to get that done. The buttons for "next" in the cancellation proces are not really buttons, but small words somewhere down on the page. The big buttons that are shown promptly are misleading, making you think the cancellation process is finished, which is not true. So they try to deceive you in every possible way and you have to be really careful. Then in the end you have to make a phonecall to unsubscribe. This organization is I think not working according to laws of the Netherlands, I can no imagine this is allowed like this. So please: to any-one who is doubting they will get some service or promise of some nice download: they are a fake business with no advantages what so ever...
