Villa Select has really gone downhill

We spent over a week getting numerous issues fixed with the villa.
These issues were raised with:
The rep (did nothing until we chased her after 5 days)
Villa Select (not interested, left us a voicemail, said would call us back and didn't)
The cleaner
The maintenance man
The villa owner

Got tired of repeating these issues to so many different people.
We did a couple of hours outside cleaning ourselves to be able to enjoy the space.

pdf instruction manual for villa is hopeless. No mention of wi-fi code, refers to wrong island, no instructions for any appliance.

Rep was particularly poor. Preferred to argue with the customer rather than getting the issues sorted.

Not a relaxing holiday when you spend the first nine days acting as an unpaid project manager trying to get things fixed.

Firstly, please accept my sincere apologies for the disappointment you experienced during your recent holiday with us in Crete. My intention is not to offer excuses, but to provide you with an honest explanation and to reassure you that this was an isolated incident, not representative of the standard Villa Select experience we strive to deliver.

We are truly sorry that the villa was not presented as it should have been upon your arrival. Our local agency in Crete has acknowledged this shortcoming and has provided clarification regarding the issues raised. The owner/technician was scheduled to visit the following day once the concerns were reported; however, he had to attend to an emergency and unfortunately failed to notify our resort manager. This lack of communication undoubtedly added to the inconvenience. I have been informed that the issues were ultimately resolved, the cleaning team was instructed to return for a thorough clean, and a gesture of wines was to be left for you.

We attempted to contact you during your holiday as soon as we were made aware of the situation, but our calls went to voicemail, where messages were left. We also reached out again upon your return and left a further message in the hope of speaking with you directly.

I fully appreciate how frustrating this must have been. The wellbeing of our clients is always our top priority, and we recognise that the communication breakdown within our resort team contributed significantly to the problem. Please be assured that this has been addressed, and new procedures have been implemented to prevent any recurrence.

Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you personally to discuss this further and to offer a goodwill gesture towards a future holiday with us, with the aim of restoring your confidence in the Villa Select experience.

VILLA SELECT ARE FANTASTIC

My experience of booking a holiday with Villa Select was absolutely made wonderful by the brilliant staff(especially donna)from start to finish ..me an my family basically sat back an they did everything for us. There is nothing that I can fault ..from them booking the holiday..private taxi ..an the villa was gorgeous .clean .massive..lovely welcome pack ..I could go on..not a single regret .

First time booking a Villa holiday

First time booking a Villa holiday. We dealt directly with Donna by phone. Everything was put into place including flights and transfers etc. We went for Villa Sunset inCala en Porter Menorca. Absolutely wonderful place and excellent customer relations with the lovely Donna. Will return in the future.Truly would’nt have gone without her help! Great company.

We stayed in a very nice and very quiet…

We stayed in a very nice villa in Lanzarote. But flight times going home were not very good. You have to leave the villa at 10am but flights were book at 6.25 pm leaving us noway to go with luggage. Donna and Matthew from villa select not helpful so we had to book in local hotel for 300 Euro's for the day . So please check flight times it's on you . Go with James Villa's or villa plus you will have on problems.

Firstly, I would like to clarify that your holiday was booked online rather than through a member of our team. When bookings are made directly with us, our staff ensure all details—including villa arrival and departure times—are clearly explained before confirmation. To assist clients booking online, this information is clearly outlined in our Terms and Conditions, on our website, in our brochure, and in all correspondence sent to clients.

The 10:00 a.m. villa departure time is standard across most holiday rental properties to allow sufficient time for cleaning and preparation for incoming guests. For comparison, Villa Plus also requires a 10:00 a.m. checkout. (Please note that James Villas ceased operations in 2023.)

Both Donna and Matt are dedicated to supporting all of our clients and, on this occasion, they went the extra mile by sourcing and sending you helpful suggestions for hotel day passes in Lanzarote. I would also like to note that if the villa had been unoccupied following your stay, we would have been happy to extend your checkout time as a courtesy. Unfortunately, due to high occupancy during this busy period, this was not possible; however, Donna did check this for you at the time.

We do understand that later flight times can be challenging—especially without a hire car—so we will ensure our team continues to highlight the 10:00 a.m. checkout time clearly to clients booking their own flights.

Excellent service

We've received excellent customer service from Villa Select from booking with Donna through to the resort help with Kara. We stayed in a beautiful villa in Kefalonia which exceeded expectations and was the cleanest villa we've ever stayed in. The service you get is above an beyond a big travel company and I'd recommend booking with Villa Select. We will definitely use the company again!

Good stay with a few issues from villa select

The villa we stayed at in Mallorca was overall good, however there were a few issues that we raised that were not rectified by villa select. There was no midweek maid clean as advertised and the major problem was the aircon in our villa was not working properly, it was clearly not a new problem as the wall around the aircon unit was damp to touch with black mold. I raised this with villa select and am still waiting for a response.

Villa of our dreams - best customer service 5*

Donna at Villa Select helped us to secure our dream villa after experiencing difficulties booking it via other websites. Donna went over and above for us, and was always so friendly. We reached out to Donna after booking as wanted to add someone onto booking/were having trouble booking car, Donna was quick to respond with all of the information we needed.

Villa was so clean, I honestly didn't see anything that wasn't up to standard. Pools were great. Games room was a fab extra. On site staff were all lovely.

Perfect holiday.

Pro’s & Con’s

This was our first time booking with this company.

There were a couple of issues i had. Firstly, the villa was not ready at check in, the cleaning team were still there, (and we were not early for check-in, we were on tie), which is not what you need after you have had a long day of travelling. Secondly, the cleaning company again, did two towel changes within two days of each other in the first week (we were staying two weeks). My expectation on a two week villa stay is a towel change midweek/week. I did reach out to request additional towels in the second week, but my message was ignored.

There were positives with using this company too. I found the contacts were helpful, prompt and informative, when i needed them whilst I was staying at the villa. The representative in the area i was staying in, was very good at responding even when i had to contact them out of hours due my daughter becoming unwell.

All in all, it was an okay experience using this company. I won’t be booking through them again though.

Our resort cleaning team work extremely hard to ensure that every villa is prepared to the highest standard for each new arrival. During peak season, this is a carefully scheduled operation.
I have reviewed the rota for Villa Son Rotger on the day of your arrival and can confirm that cleaning exceeded the allocated check-in time by 22 minutes. We sincerely apologise for this slight delay.
We do, however, appreciate your patience, and it is worth noting that the rest of the villa—including the pool and outdoor areas—was fully available for you and your family, with only the kitchen floor remaining to be completed. The Resort Team kept you informed of this at the time.

Your comment regarding the towel change day has also been noted and immediate action taken to ensure this does not cause any inconvenience in the future.

We truly hope you will consider travelling with Villa Select again. As you mentioned, the Resort Management Team were attentive and efficient throughout your stay. Sarka, our Pollensa Resort Manager, even took the time to personally check on the wellbeing of your daughter, which reflects our commitment not only to service but also to the care and welfare of our guests.

Efficient, reliable and friendly company. Making our Villa experience perfect

We have never stayed in a Villa before so I initially felt a bit unsure, but booking the villa was a very easy process with friendly and knowledgeable travel agents every step of the way.

The villa (Villa Zeus) was unreal!! Views from every angle - breathtaking! The pool - perfect size, depth and temperature. Plenty of garden space to swerve the heat and sit in the shade.
Air-conditioning - worked a treat. Cleanliness - spot-on! Beds - very comfy. Showers - did the job. Facilities - everything you need. Only criticism - comfier furniture downstairs in the
lounge area.

Location: Perfect for peace, relaxation and tranquility. It really is a blissful paradise. However Spartia is a remote area so would need a car to get around. Closest shop would be a good 10/15 minute walk and only 1 taverna. We hired a car and travelled about, so it worked.
There are so many beautiful places to visit outside of Spartia and around Kefalonia. It really is stunning!

Kara, our host was very friendly and welcoming. Easy to make contact with to offer advice on places to visit. Also helped us out when we got lost. Having a host made us feel at ease, given we have never booked a villa before.

It was just so easy and absolutely beautiful

Saved our bacon!

We had our holiday cancelled on weds by TUI, due to fly tomorrow. I saw a villa on villa select that actually looked better and was cheaper. I messed up the booking and spoke to Lucy and Donna the next day and honestly they could not have been nicer human beings. We have been told all about the resort, things to take, assured and treated like people. You have customers for life. Thank you so much

Villa Siesta, Argassi, Zakynthos, Greece.

For the money we paid we had high expectations. Unfortunately this villa didn't even begin to live up to them.

The kitchen had hardly any pans and utensils, the bathroom (painted black) had only one tiny window with no insect screen.

The view from the side of the property looked like a cross between a scrap yard and a shanty town, with cockerels constantly crowing.

The mattresses were like concrete.

The pool filtration system was noisy and on 24/7.

All in all very different to their photos. We won't be going back.

EDIT: the Villa Select manger, Denise, was brilliant. After a week she realised that Villa Siesta was substandard and moved us to an infinitely better one.

Booked a villa holiday in Kefalonia, flew out with Jet2, seamless service as always, stayed at Trapezaki, fabulous holiday, would thoroughly recommend, sterling service from Kara and Deborah! Will be returning!

Villa spotlessly clean with a great welcome pack on arrival .
Well equipped villa with plenty of fresh towels and pool towels .
First time using Villa Select and will book again after a trouble free experience booking .

House was cold!

The house and pool were excellent! It was within easy walking distance of restaurants, cafes, beach and marina. The only complaint was that the house was cold. Obviously nothing can be done about the weather, but we thought more could have been done to heat the house. On our second last day one plug in heater was sent over, but given the open plan design of the house this had no benefit.
