Blue Islands Poor Service

Blue Islands provided very poor customer service at Guernsey airport. I messaged the company and they did not bother to reply, which confirms that they do not care about their customers. Do not waste your money with Blue Islands unless you are happy with poor service.

Blue Islands is breaking the law

I went to their UK website to book a flight to Jersey. They force you to use cookies and do not give you an opt-out. That is illegal in the UK. If they are happy to break the law so readily, I'll go on another airline which respects the law.

Good experience with Blue Island flights

We flew to jersey and back with blue island from east midland airport. I was a little worried after the bad reviews but we had a very good experience with them. Both ways the blue island staff were lovely and very helpful. Our flights actually arrived early there and back. We had a lovely holiday in jersey and would definately use blue island flights again

Avoid this company.

I would avoid this company from now on. Flight from Guernsey to Southampton was cancelled with 3 hours notice. We had to stay at a hotel overnight which we paid for as no offer for assistance from the company. Refusal to pay compensation as apparently not covered by UK regulation 261/2004 for flights leaving the channel islands which is probably why their service is so poor as they can effectively do as they please. Avoid them and the sister company Aurigny who were equally poor and who the flight was originally booked through.

Blue Islands ruined our holiday

Booked these flights a year in advance to visit Jersey to celebrate our Ruby Wedding anniversary having honeymooned there in 1984. Can honestly say this is the worst airline experience we have ever encountered. We should have flown from Birmingham on 25th May 2024 at 14.40
4th April we were told it was cancelled but could rebook on the 18.25 which we did. Then on 25th May email at 13.50 to say flight was cancelled but we could re book for 19.30 on 26th May
26th May got text 18.25 to say that flight was also cancelled. By now over 2 days of holiday lost and tried to call but Blue Islands shut down phone lines and were not available over the whole bank holiday weekend.
We did manage to fly out with EasyJet to rescue some of our holiday, and just as well we booked a return with them as guess what? The return flight we should have been taking on 1st June 12.50 was also cancelled by Blue Island on the day so would have left us stranded.
They may come up cheaper but do not be fooled, the service is awful. No explanation, no apology, close down phones when cancelling flights and had to chase twice to get refund, which finally came after 6 weeks. Do do not be tempted to use them.

We flew from Norwich to Jersey

We flew from Norwich to Jersey. When luggage came off in Jersey one of the wheels was missing. Two holes in side of case and bottom corner ripped. Someone had put a staple in case to hold it together .Could not wheel it and inside bottom of case was filled with shattered plastic. No one at airport to complain to. Sent email same day and following three days, no response. Tried to phone their customer care team but the phone call could not be taken because all the staff were off sick. Decided to ask Resolver to help which they are in the process of doing so. We have had an acknowledgment, that’s all. We had to purchase a new case for £99. It seems that once Blue Islands have your booking and money, they wash their hands of you. The flight was 90 mins but no water available. Disgrace.

A criminal organisation

This company doesn't abide by their legal obligations.

After a terrible experience travelling through Birmingham Airport , our flight to Jersey was eventually cancelled due to an electrical issue with the plane after we had been sat on the plane in dangerous temperatures for over 2 hours. This temperature cannot be understated and it is exceedingly fortunate that the baby on the flight survived in these conditions.

We were told we would receive water once we departed but this was then refused once we made it off - this is a breach of UK261 legislation.

I have now been chasing for my refund for three weeks and continue to be ignored. Again legislation states a refund should be received within 7 days so this is again a breach of the law.

I shan't bother to explain in detail their other failings such as opening check-in 40 minutes late on a two hour check-in window when the security queues required police intervention, but suffice to say that their actions have been reported to the Civil Aviation Authority and I encourage others to do the same.

Joke of a company and I am taking legal…

Joke of a company and I am taking legal action. Would give zero stars if I could. We had booked to fly to Jersey from Birmingham, less than 48 hours before departure (and conveniently late at night when they were closed) we had an email cancelling our outbound flight. This was the second time a flight had been cancelled as a few months prior our return flight got cancelled meaning one less night in Jersey and therefore a loss in accommodation fees as it was a three night minimum.
As we were going to a wedding we opted for the flight out from Bristol, meaning more expense for additional travel and parking but we were unable to change our return flight without paying £380 so more cost a we now had to return to a different airport than pay for public transport to get the car.
Anyway, we arrived at Bristol in plenty of time for our flight just for it to be delayed later and later with no early warning. The flight ended up being nearly 4 hours late. Our return flight was also delayed but by just an hour but ended up being with Marathon Air.
Since returning I have used the online contact form and said for a total of 15 hours on hold trying to speak to someone to get compensation as by CAA regulation we are entitled to this. After half an hour on hold they just cut the call. Do they actually have anybody working for them? I've contacted the CEO on LinkedIn and send a recorded letter threatening legal action.
If you are booked with Blue Island do everything you can do not go with them and find an alternative way. They will mess you around without a care in the world and not be contactable in anyway. Avoid this absolute joke of a company.

Appalling Service.

My wife and I were due to fly from Birmingham, with Blue Islands, to Jersey for a holiday.
A couple of weeks prior to the date Blue Islands cancelled our flight. We rearranged for a later flight the same day, also from Birmingham but that too got cancelled, due to "flight disruption". So as not to miss out on our holiday we had to change to Bristol Airport and fly out early evening.
Our return flight from Jersey to Bristol, two days prior to departure was put back three hours, again due to "flight disruption#.
Blue Islands appear not to give a damn about their customers and can change things at the drop of a hat, not matter what expense is incurred to their passengers.
I would say that Blue Islands need a sort out within their management structure, otherwise they are going under.
We will never fly with them again.

Absolute bunch of cowboys

Absolute bunch of cowboys - Sat 25th May 2024 we were supposed to fly from East Mids to Jersey for a week's holiday. We started the day with an approx 30 min delay to departure but advised to check in as normal. The flight was scheduled to depart at 2.40pm but in the end left at 10.45pm, it was pushed back in two hour increments with zero contact from Blue Islands. We each received a £5 and later £10 refreshment voucher - where does that go in an airport. The one remaining bar was waiting for us to leave so they could shut (thanks for the lovely staff at Castle Rock!). We arrived in Jersey at midnight instead of 4pm. Passengers were all ages, including children. Conveniently 'customer service' were only on short hours that weekend. I couldn't face the return journey so booked with Jet2 instead - it was worth the extra cash for peace of mind. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Terrible service

Terrible service, I travel to jersey for business regularly, the last 4 flights have either been heavily delayed or even on the last flight moved the airport at short notice. Customer services do not exist, they never ever return emails or calls, I have no idea what’s going on but these jokers will be out of business soon, I wouldn’t trust them to mow my lawn let alone fly my family over the channel, thank god easy jet have put on a service

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Terrible experience with this company. I actually booked with Loganair but they passed me on to Blue Islands. First my return flight to Jersey was cancelled three days before the start of my holiday. I had to book a return flight for the following day after checking with the accomodation that my room would still be available and of course had to pay for another nights stay. This flight was delayed twice on the day of the flight so by the time I got back home it was too late to collect my dog from the kennels so I had to pay for another nights stay for her. Not to mention another days expenses in Jersey, meals etc. Then when I finally did arrive back home , on closer inspection it seems as though Blue Islands have charged me £36.00 for rebooking the return flight of which I was never told about this charge and wasn't my choice to change the flight. So all in all this inconvenience has cost me around an extra £400. NEVER FLYING WITH THESE CLOWNS AGAIN

Absolutely Unacceptable Service and Unreliable Flights

I had the unfortunate experience of being booked with Blue Islands Airways recently, and I can confidently say it was one of the worst travel experiences I've ever had. My flight from Jersey to Southampton, scheduled to depart at 13:40, was delayed not once, but twice - first to 15:30 and then to an unbelievable 18:30.

This extensive delay completely derailed my plans. I was supposed to participate in an event in West Wales the following morning, an event I had meticulously planned for months. Thanks to Blue Islands' incompetence, I missed the race, lost my accommodation booking, and wasted money on a hire car that I never got to use.

What made the situation even worse was the complete lack of communication and support from Blue Islands. Not a single staff member was available to provide information or assistance. I was left in the dark, frustrated, and scrambling to find alternative arrangements. The airline's apparent disregard for their passengers is appalling.

This is not an isolated incident either. Blue Islands has a notorious reputation for frequent delays and cancellations, and this experience only solidifies their unreliability in my mind. They seem to have no respect for their customers' time or money.

I have asked for a full refund for my flight, and compensation for the accommodation and car hire expenses I incurred due to their abysmal service. If you're considering flying with Blue Islands, save yourself the headache and choose a more reliable airline. They clearly have no regard for customer service or punctuality.

Avoid Blue Islands Airways at all costs!

Late, airless, drinkless with questionable maintenance

Our plane to go home arrived at Guernsey Airport late from Jersey, on way to Southampton. After being herded onto the late plane, we were told the plane couldn't push back yet as there was a screw loose in the engine casing or mounting. The pilot half joked that maintenance men had been called and would be with us shortly, and we shouldn't be alarmed at seeing men with a step ladder attending to the engine. We didn't find it funny. Twenty minutes later we took off, 50 minutes late overall. No air flow was coming through overhead and the plane was horribly hot. No trolley came by to offer a cold drink. When I asked a stewardess why the air hadn't been turned on and why the cabin was so hot she just shrugged her shoulders. Unfortunately cowboys such as this tend to get a stranglehold on the Channel Islands.

Shocking airline

Shocking airline - in the past week they have cancelled a flight and then delayed another by three hours. They must be operating on a shoestring and with limited aircraft that are able to fly. They should have their ability to fly reviewed by the Jersey authority. Another airline should be awarded their slots .

Outbound journey was delayed by 2.5…

Outbound journey was delayed by 2.5 hours and inbound, so far, 35 mins. Means I miss my train and have to wait an hour for the next train, which require 3 changes. If you have a choice of another airline TAKE IT. I will never, ever use or suggest Blue Island as an option

Blue Islands - Commitment....not worth the Pamphlet it's printed on.!!! You've been Warned.

For anyway wishing to visit Jersey please please please use Easyjet or any other Airline that's either a UK or EU Registered Air Carrier - NOT THESE COWBOYS. As with most disgruntled passengers we didn't read [I Guess] the Clause some way down their plethora of T & C's advising that anyone encountering, what I presume to be Regular Flight Cancellations due to Technical Reasons [meaning they have insufficient Air Worthy Planes to Service their Flight Commitments UK Bound] BE WARNED you'll not get the Benefit of Blue Islands's commitment in terms of a safe, reliabel & punctual journey.
This episode has soured what we'd hoped would have been a wonderful Short Break to Jersey visiting the Island & it's plentiful Tourist Destinations.
