Appalling company

Appalling! They continued putting up flight announcements when they knew they had no planes functioning. Nobody had any info from Blue Island. We were given wrong info at desk re refunding. People re booked for the following days flight when the company knew that two planes were not functioning so highly unkikely the following days flights would be leaving. Only when I went to phone the customer care number( which was not answered) did I find out we were not eligible for a refund or any help with Accomodation costs. Had to get night ferry to get to uk in time. This was not due to bad weather it was lack of functioning aeroplanes. ! This company is appalling do not fly with them! I live on Jersey and its so hard to find a reliable flight. I shall use easi jet from now on and get train to nearest city ! At least they give you compensation .!

Last October I booked 4 seats from…

Last October I booked 4 seats from Birmingham to Jersey on 26 June 2024. Despite ringing customer services to check this flight wasn’t going to be cancelled, I finally was told yes it’s cancelled. I’m now booked with EasyJet. Same thing last year flight cancelled after checking in. I had to get to another airport at my expense to get to Jersey! Never again EasyJet fly from Birmingham now so I won’t book blue islands ever again. EasyJet cheaper too. I’ve been checking the Jersey airport arrivals/departures for the last week and most days they cancel a flight!

Dreadful Service

Booked flights a year ago - June ‘23, for a wedding in Jersey this June, ‘24. Less than two weeks to go, our outbound flight from East Mids Airport has been cancelled. We’ve been offered a rebook option from Birmingham. When we pressed the rebook option on the email, it automatically booked us on the flight from Birmingham BUT there seems no way of changing our return flight which is returning to East Mids?? No one answering the phone? How are we expected to get our car from Birmingham if we are flying into East Mids? Absolute shambles. I’d prefer to cancel at this stage as I’m not sure we’ll get to Jersey.

A dreadful incompetent airline

I had the unfortunate pleasure of flying Blue Islands to and from Guernsey for business, the whole experience was dreadful.

I was due to fly back to Southampton on the 18:20 flight on Thursday 16th May, even before I got to the airport to fly home my flight had been delayed until 21:05, not a great start but little did I know this would be the start of a 2 day ordeal.

Sat in the departure lounge and watched the plane arrive from Southampton only to be told at 21:30 the flight had been cancelled with no reason, everyone rushed to rebook onto the next flight with only one person actually rebooking and 3 other miserable staff members stood behind the desk doing nothing. This took over an hour to arrange, needless to say the first flight back in the morning was fully booked so I was given the 14:10 flight to Southampton on Friday. I had to book a hotel at a cost of £190 for the night plus a £30 taxi to get there, no offer to help pay or arrange this from the useless staff.

Friday, I arrived at the airport at 11am after another £30 taxi for my 14:10 flight to Southampton and surprise surprise - another delay until 16:00, I check in and go through security for the second time in 2 days, I sat waiting for just over an hour to then hear my 16:00 flight has now been cancelled and to speak to someone to rebook on to the next flight. Needless to say my patience had run out now and I told the member of staff I no longer wanted to fly with them anymore as I couldn’t guarantee I’d even get back to the UK with them.

I ended up booking a flight to Gatwick with a different airline at the cost of £195. I flew back that evening and then had to get the train from Gatwick to Southampton to collect my car and pay an extra £20 for my prepaid parking because I was a day and half late back. All in Blue Islands cost my business an extra £465 on top of the £360 for the flights already paid for with them.

Strangely (and conveniently) enough, their call centre was also closed for a full day and on reduced hours the other day so not only were the airport staff absolutely useless, you couldn’t even talk to anyone over the phone.

Absolute cowboy airline, avoid at all costs unless you like waiting around in airports being consistently disappointed, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the start of the downfall of this joke of an airline.

Truly dreadful

13.40 flight from Jersey to Southampton having waited for multiple non-forthcoming updates eventually cancelled at 7pm and a message sent to rebook. Any staff who might have been around were in hiding. Told to turn up next day. No offer of accommodation. Returned next day and same again. Being Jersey registered, these jokers are less regulated than a West African cargo airline so expect no news, no compensation and no assistance. Its a tin pot airline doing the bare minimum to keep a few shabby planes in the air who don't give a monkeys about its customers and its demise can't come soon enough.

DO NOT travel with Blue Island

Sat at Jersey airport waiting for 7hours as flight delayed, delayed more, go to gate,go back to departures, then cancelled. Had to find and pay for accommodation, back the next day (today) and guess what? Flight delayed - feels like groundhog day, I can only assume this company has a ceo who is a complete and utter tw#t. No comms No apology and more to the point No blue island staff at the departures area so you can't complain to anyone- perfect business model for Blue Island. No chance we'll ever use them again. Don't be tempted to use them even if it seems more convenient - it certainly won't be!

Lightening does strike twice with this rotten airline

On my return on Sat 11th May, flying from Jersey to Birmingham the 12.40 pm flight was called late and then, after checking through for boarding, cancelled due to technical difficulties. We were told to return to Departures desk 16 to discuss options. There were seats available on the later flight to East Midlands. On asking how we would get to Birmingham we were assured that a transfer coach would be provided. Had I not received that assurance I would have elected to stay overnight and travel the following day. The East Midlands flight was late boarding and then was diverted via Guernsey to deliver a spare part. I asked the steward what we should do on arrival to find the transfer coach and, after consultation with the captain I was told - and it was repeated over the tannoy that all Birmingham passengers should wait opposite the Greg’s for the transfer coach. Despite further confirmation that we would be transferred (this time via taxi) once a third passenger who was currently in baggage reclaim had come through no such passenger or taxi turned up. A ground handling agent asked by customer services to assist us told us curtly, to the point of rudeness that the ground staff at Jersey and the pilot had no authority to offer a transfer which would not be provided. He then walked away leaving us without any assistance. By this time it was 8pm, the airport was virtually deserted and we had no option but to pay £120 for a taxi transfer back to the city to which Blue Islands had agreed to take us. It was a disgrace on every level. I am 78, was exhausted with all the travelling, stressed out and distressed (I had just attended my brothers funeral) and was simply abandoned by Blue Islands despite the assurances given that if I went via East Midlands they would transfer me back to Birmingham. I have since found out that as the airline is registered in the Channel Islands they are not covered by EU/UK laws on passenger rights but that does not absolve them from responsibility given the assurances we were given by people with apparent authority to do so. Blue Islands let me down twice in two days (see my previous review) and having got a very substantial payment for the return ticket couldn’t care less about performing their part of the bargain. The sooner they have proper competition on these routes the better. Don’t fly with them if you can avoid it

Flight from Dublin to Jersey on 13th…

Flight from Dublin to Jersey on 13th May 2024 which was scheduled to arrive at 4:45pm landed approximately 10:30pm.....the ONLY notification received from the company happened before 7:00AM saying that the flight was significantly delayed and would arrive in Jersey around 8;30PM. At NO STAGE has the paying customer received a reason why such a delay has happened - this is not good customer service....and secondly why oh why did the passengers have to check in for a 3:00PM flight and spend the next 5 hours walking Terminal 1 at Dublin airport btw the airport was very cold....sorry to say and based on the above Blueislands seem to care little for their customers.

Bolousy service.

Booked on 1410 flight Guernsey to Southampton.Delayed till 1725.Three other flights delayed due to technical reasons.Given 3 different stories by customer services. No vouchers issued for food and drink .Think blue islands could not organise a drink up in a brewery, and even more concerning is the question 'are their aircraft safe"?

Seat change by a comedienne

Booked a flight to Guernsey from Southampton return through blue islands, paid for selected seat which was fine on the way out, on return, after an early start and a very long day of meetings on the island my seat number was changed, informed by a member of staff of Aurigny, who thought her vocation in life was to make jokes whilst stood at the gate, she didn’t really explain why the seat change and I asked that I will expect a refund on the additional charge of a selected seat that was not available. If I’d been given an apology with a kind and understanding tone then I may have accepted it but to make jokes at 7pm at night in front of an entire array of passengers after a 15 hour day wasn’t my idea of fun. I will be making a complaint to said “comedienne” to Aurigny and Blue Islands will be getting a refund request.

Blue Island Five star experience

Having recently flown with them .We really liked the ease of checkin, that the hold baggage was included in the ticket cost. Nice only having two seats instead of three ! the cabin crew were very pleasant and helpful and the flight crew kept us well informed. It felt more like being on an executive jet . So nice that boarding and disembarkation was speedy . A really pleasant experience.

5 Star Customer Service

I'm giving 5 stars for customer service as the flights concerned have not happened yet.
My booking was made through one of Blue Islands partners and involves a swift change of planes in Southampton. However I was unable to book a seat on the Southampton to Guernsey flight during the booking process and the Blue Islands system did not recognise the booking reference. Experience has told me that I need a seat to check in online.
A few messages backwards and forwards explaining my problems dealt with by John politely and efficiently. He booked me a seat and has even given me a booking reference for my Blue Island flight separate to the first one to enable online check in.
Thank you John, you have made my journey easier to plan.

The flight itself was on time and a good experience

The flight itself was on time and a good experience with the efficiency of onboard crew, The only letdown was the checking in desk at Jersey airport, The first person i encountered was a elderly female desk clerk on providing my passport I had a unintelligible muttering my response was pardon where i as met with a surly check in twenty minutes , that put me in my place , Waited the twenty minuets ,not wanting to return to miss sour face I chose the other desk clerk, not much improvement there , Provided my passport , it was checked and thrown on the desk with my boarding card without any words whatsoever , I stood and just looked at his equally bored expression that he may want to acknowledge me, to no effect, You need a under cover boss of find someone who understands customer service, this is not a rant but an observation which i hope you find useful, I mentioned how unfriendly the Blue island checking in staff were as i was going through the boarding area and her reply , Unbelievable, (That's Normal ) can't make this up ,

First class customer service.

It was necessary to reschedule a flight several times as my itinerary kept changing. The Customer Service team was extremely helpful and showed exemplary skills in dealing with a situation that could have cost me dearly.

Thank you.

Update… avoid like the plague… as a non-EU airline they don’t have a customer charter so, if they cancel a flight, you as a passenger have no rights to compensation. If you must used this bunch, better get good travel insurance but better still, fly with a reputable airline that’s EU / UK registered.

Booking in not very good and no inflight refreshments

We flew from Birmingham on the 11th October 2023, to find there was no inflight refreshments. Don't expect a lot during a one hour flight, but a drink and a snack is not hard to deliver. On the day of travel, the Airport was extremely busy and we had to join a massive queue to enter the departure lounge, and only just made our flight on time. The delays were not the airlines fault, but failing to provide refreshments was.

On our return journey we could not book in until 45 minutes before departure, limiting our time in the Departure lounge, making it uncomfortable to drink and have a snack, go to the toilet and shop duty free.

However, when we arrived in the lounge, we found we had all the time in the world, as the flight was announced as delayed by 40 minutes, so we relaxed, went to duty free and had refreshments when suddenly, without warning it was announced the flight was leaving on time and to attend the departure gate. We had to rush our refreshments to reach the gate on time.

Not very good. Puts us off flying with them again.

I flew from Birmingham to Jersey on Aug…

I flew from Birmingham to Jersey on Aug 6th with this airline. I saw my case being loaded into the tail of the plane with three others and being forced into the space by a baggage handler. On arrival in Jersey there was a huge dent in the corner of the case which Blue islands are refusing to do anything about, saying it is still useable. The strength of the case construction has been compromised and I do not feel confident in flying with it again and having loss or damage to my property.
This airline is failing in it's duty to passengers.
They even asked me for bank details and then to provide a screenshot of replacement, only to then refuse to deal with it. Shoddy !

Blue Islands - Cancelled flight, no refund!

I booked a flight from Southampton to Jersey and specifically chose the midday flight rather than the early morning flight as it suited me better, despite being the more expensive option.

Blue Islands contacted me a couple of weeks later to advise that the flight I had booked had been cancelled and I had to rebook onto a different flight. I chose the cheaper, early morning option even though the timings were not ideal for my plans.

I rang Blue Islands to ask for a refund for the price difference as I had paid the higher fare for the nicer time but now had to settle for the early time, but Blue Islands told me no refund of any amount was available.

This is extremely poor customer service from Blue Islands and I am appalled that I have paid a high amount for a flight I am not happy with when it was clearly displayed as the cheaper option when I originally booked.
