Do not use marriage allowance claims run by Richard Harwood absolute scam. Claims to be from HMRC takes 50% of your refund. Absolute disgrace running through legal advice at the moment would prefer to be out of pocket to prevent this vile individual to steal money from vulnerable people whom should be receiving this allowance. Lets all get together and try and close this pathetic false company down. I am giving them a chance to refund me all of my said allowance if not recieved in 10 days watch this space willing to pay whatever to get this toe rag from ever conning people again

Having read all the reviews, I only wish I had taken the time to check out this company, as others have stated they make themselves appear to be part of the HMRC, at NO time do they tell you that they are a third part company and will take nearly 50% of your tax rebate.
I have contacted the Financial ombudsman and Trading Standards, but it appears that they cannot do anything as they are not regulated by the financial services authority.
We have lost over half of our entitlement in a time when every penny counts due to the current lock-down.

Zero stars, system won’t allow me to put that. Similar to the other reviews, I thought I was applying on an HMRC website, the font, the questions etc all designed to look like HMRC. The paperwork that came out also lead me to believe I was dealing with HMRC so I signed. There was no mention of fees and I wasn’t looking for any either as I thought I was dealing with HMRC. Nearly half my money was taken in fees. I am so upset as really needed this in current climate and the feeling of being duped is horrible. I’m writing to HMRC to say I don’t want MAC ltd dealing with my affairs. HMRC did say on the phone though that I had signed a legal document and I had to break the ties with MAC ltd. Not only have they robbed me with fees, taken my data under false pretences, I now have the problem of getting the legal document I have signed cancelled. I can’t believe this is allowed to go on, truly awful!!! Also they don’t answer the phone!!!

I have never in my life been scammed but today realised I can no longer say that due to Marriage Allowance Ltd! Like everyone else has said I truly believed I was claiming directly through HMRC, to be honest I never imagined a company would act on your behalf to make a claim like this which is easy to do yourself and FREE through HMRC. At no point did I receive any information about fees and they deliberately mislead you by making their eligibility questions look like the official HMRC page. Part way through the process I even got a letter from HMRC with no reference to a third party, another reason I assumed I had applied directly to HMRC. I was expecting £248 so couldn't believe that £106 was taken in fees and just over £20 was a VAT payment to HMRC! That left me with £120!! Beyond mad and cross with myself that at no point did I realise I was being scammed. I guess if HMRC are aware of it and havent stopped them there's not much point in contacting the financial ombudsman! It appears we are now allowed to be scammed. Grrr.

This company completely lacks morals. They have nothing to do with the HMRC and are a complete sham with no morals. They make all the docs look so legit like it is from the HMRC. However, its such a lie and is nothing to do with the gov.

Some guy called Justin that apparently owns the company (by the way apparently since they are so transparently moral he refuses to give his second name.) basically told me its my fault. The letter they send you has no terms and conditions. This is daylight robber. Please be careful and go directly to the gov website. These guys are thieves in sheep clothing. Sadly you can't rate something 0 stars.

Someone should get this harwwods, Johnston’s in Leicester.. some robin wood guy should slap them in the face. Or that carer who will one day care for them when they are old and who is scammed by them? Where is right and wrong gone.. I didn’t even agree their terms so they took my money based on my partner doing so.. let’s ban them in restaurants pubs and bar, socially exclude them if you are friends with them. They probably scammed the NHS workers and doctors as well.. how do these criminals sleep at night

1st off your con artists. Your website & paperwork are deliberately set up to look like official gov.
Secondly no where was it stated you would take almost 50% of what was awarded! This is probably due to the fact you are conning people out of their tax refund, clearly stating we’d be loosing almost 50% of what is awarded you’d have zero custom, add the fact you claimed HMRC have taxed what was awarded is insane.
When I rang to discus the matter your phone matter was appalling and stating it was my fault for not looking into your business more was absurd based on the fact I had no reason to believe I was dealing with anyone other than HMRC.
As promised I have gotten in touch with the financial ombudsman to help rectify this issue.

OMG I'm sobbing and shaking like a leaf reading all this.Originally applied online and thought it was HMRC .Just spoke to them and they said sent chq to marriage allowance claims for the £800 we are owed. Just now realised it's a scam . We are broke so has anyone got any advice .

We are still awaiting our cash which was paid to Marriage Allowance Claims Ltd (MAC) in April. This has been confirmed by HMRC. I wrote to MAC on 20th May but no response. Today I found out that they are owned by Saxon Capital Partners Ltd. Not surprisingly perhaps, the directors of Saxon are the same as the directors of MAC. Also MAC seems to have been wound up and has been replaced by Marriage Allowance Ltd. Have now written to Saxon.

We too thought we were on a HMRC website. Interestingly the real HMRC site had crashed (after us spending an age on it) and we were diverted to the MAC site automatically. It appeared the HMRC site was overloaded and that they were offering to send forms out to ease things along. I am still very suspicious of the crash and redirection - too much of a coincidence maybe.

Why do HMRC play along with this.They know this is happening and all they have to do is have a rule that says any monies can only be paid to the claimant. In other words "deeds of assignment not accepted".

Well today, 5th June, a cheque arrived so we have at least got something back. It is a little over 50% of the full amount which is down to their commission being taken! The paperwork that came with the cheque is very similar to HMRC so this entire thing is designed to mislead people.....yet nothing appears to be being done about it. They are clearly an unregulated company so the usual protections are not in place. It seems absurd that this company can trade without being regulated.

No stars. I received my cheque today minus 45% plus VAT. At no time did I think I was not on the genuine HMRC website. I cannot believe they get away with legalised robbery, shame on them. I am so angry about this and the fact that HMRC are aware of them!

Totally taken in by these shysters!! Saw an ad on Facebook and did the deed. They charged us £337.51 for the privilege. This sort of thing should be stopped especially as it looks so like HMRC. I'm surprised its allowed to go on to be honest.

My wife filled up an online questionnaire and is now getting pestered with application forms. We will not be filling in the form and not signing to make it legal. Total scammers, their fees are a disgrace, we are old age pensioners. We have now been in touch with HMRC and processed our claim direct with them and will hopefully get a refund, without having to pay the scammers fees.

Absolute thieves! They prey pon vulnerable people and take what little they have. They should be ashamed of themselves and should be persecuted for fraudulant advertising. What is being done to shut these people down?? They take almost 45% which is literally half the claim. I wonder how they sleep preying on poor people..shame on you! This is not honest business!!

Just read all these reviews and we have fallen for it aswell. We thought it was all through the HMRC. I just received a cheque today, there is no way we would have used a middle man to do this. We never went on their website,its the first time I have seen their website today. We were owed £238, they took £124, leaving us with £114. We rang them to query it and they told us we signed forms etc back in feb, but we honestly thought it all through the HMRC, They really need to be reported as they are misleading us. So angry, especially when people need their money now more than ever!!

This company scammed us. We saw an ad on Facebook believing it was a department linked to HMRC. Sent a form to sign. Saw a website hidden at bottom of a letter and realised it was another company. It's there you find they take 42% plus £24 fee off you. No one told us at any time about these fees. They're well hidden. Disgusting people basically mugging people. Don't use.

I wish I'd have seen this before I too fell for this scam.

Our money was paid to them months ago and we haven't received a penny. It's hundreds of pounds too and no way to contact them.

These guys are ‘legal’ scammers according to HMRC I saw an article and assumed that I was on an HMRC site, got the forms filled them in and was pleased to find out we were entitled to £493. HMRC then sent me a letter to say that my cheque had been issued to Marriage Allowance Claims I queried it with HMRC and they told me that I had inadvertently got a 3rd party involved?! They issued the cheque at the end of Feb and this company STILL have will TAKE 42 per cent of it before eventually sending me what’s left I cannot believe this can be allowed and HMRC have to issue cheques in their name !! Today I called them and they said to ‘bare with them!’ In the meantime they are proudly announcing every few seconds that some poor other couple have fallen for it. FUMING!!
