I would give this company zero stars if I could. It looks very similar to the official government website when you are using a mobile device. I renewed my driving licence using their website as I believed I was using the government website (I feel very stupid about this now!) It was only when I realised I had been charged £94 for the privilege that I realised something was wrong. I did not want any extra 'services' they provide. I just wanted to renew my licence! I have since received an email from the company saying that they could not process my renewal so would refund the 'government fees'. I'm assuming they mean the £14 renewal fee that I'd have paid if I'd gone into the correct government website! This is is wonderful, but I assume it does mean they're still going to charge me £80 for some other services I don't want! I have emailed them to say that, as I feel I was misled and they haven't actually been able to provide me with the renewal, I will not benefit from any of their additional 'services' and I want a full refund. I am encouraged to see that some other reviewers were able to get a refund so hopefully I will get one too!

UPDATE: After a few emails back and forth between me and the company in which they offered a couple of different refund amounts (50%, then 90%) of the £94 they charged me for a service they could not provide (licence renewal) and for extra services I didn't even want, I contacted Citizens Advice and got some advice on what to write in an email to them in order to try and get my money back. Citizens Advice have had a number of complaints about this company and it has been reported to Trading Standards. I have managed to get a FULL REFUND! If you're in the same position as I was, the email below, or words to this effect, may help (make sure you do actually contact the dvla to ask if any attempt has been made by the company to renew your licence.) Also, I realised my mistake immediately after I made the payment and contacted them immediately. I think this went in my favour as I was able to argue that they had not done anything for me if you leave it too long you may not be able to argue this.

Thanks for your offer of a 90% refund, I would, however, still like to claim the full £94 back for the following reasons:

Firstly, I am within the 14 day cancellation period (the minimum required under the Consumer Contract Regulations you reference in your terms and conditions).

Secondly, I believe there has been a breach of contract on your part as, shortly after I made the payment of £94, I received another email stating that I was 'ineligible for service' and that I should complete my application at the post office. I believe this to be a breach of contract because I went on your website for no other reason than to renew my driving licence and you have not been able to fulfill this service.

I have contacted the DVLA who have informed me that there has been no attempt made by anyone to renew my driving licence. I therefore do not believe you even attempted to provide this service before telling me I was 'ineligible' for it. Not only this but I made you aware immediately after I had mistakenly purchased your services that I did not want the extra 'services' you said you would provide. I have not received any information about how to use these, even if I wanted to, and therefore I believe I should be entitled to a full refund.

I have contacted Citizens Advice who inform me that they have received a number of complaints about your company and that this will be reported to Trading Standards. I was advised that any payment you want me to make must be proportionate to the service you have provided me. You have not provided any service to me whatsoever, or done any work on my behalf and I therefore believe a full refund is the only option.

I was also advised to enquire as to whether your company belongs to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme should it come to the point where a third party is required to assist in resolving this issue for us through mediation. If not, the only other alternative would sadly have to be the court process.

I hope this issue can be resolved promptly and that I will be provided with a full refund as a gesture of goodwill on your part.

Would give zero stars if possible as this is an absolute scam. I am usually pretty alert with scams but was caught out by this one having searched on Google for the licence renewal website. Have written to them to complain about the misleading nature of their charges (other than processing the renewal application what other services could they offer over a year ???) and to request a refund.of the £80 additional charge

Like so many before me, i was also duped into thinking i’d clicked on the official .Gov site. I feel that i’m pretty savvy and would never get sucked in with a scam like this, but they got me!

I proceeded to renew my driving licence knowing it was £14 and only the next day I checked my bank transactions it was £94.

I instantly emailed them, to which they replied that they are not affiliated with the DVLA or in any way official, but by clicking a box, and therefore accepting their t&c’s i knew what i was doing.

I would not go away, and finally after 17 emails back and forth, they offered me firstly, £14 then £17, £27, £34, £40, £50, before finally saying they have processed my £80 refund. I said they could keep the £14 ad after all, that’s what it costs to renew!

I reported their site/listing to Google, BBCs Watchdog, Rogue Traders and the ASA.

I threatened them with seeking legal advice from an independent ombudsman and stated i was prepared to go to small claims court.

It took about a week, and as i stated earlier, about 17 emails back and forth, but at the time of writing this, they have agreed to refund me in full.

I just hope it shows up in my account in the next few days.

*Edit* I’ve now had a full refund of the £80 I was charged by Vehicle Online Services. It took just over a week, and lots of back and forth but I got there I. The end.

Hi I’ve just been charge 94 pound for a license renewal on my fathers card who is a pensioner Thinkinh it was the DVLA website I have phoned my bank and reported it as a fraudulent transaction they stopped my card but will this help get my money back I have to contact the frauds team in the morning

Bunch of sh** c*nts! Yet they are allowed to get away with it! Logged in to renew my licence as a critical/key worker after trying unsuccessfully via dvla phone number! £94 for a £14 licence and the bank can’t do anything because of the company’s disclaimer! Well I hope you enjoyed it vehicleonlineservices because It’ll be the last lot of money you ever get off me !

ZERO STARS - THIS IS A SCAM! Duped my daughter into paying £114 for a provisional licence (£14 from DVLA) immediately tried to cancel the process within minutes once I realised what she had done but no number to call, just an email & when they eventually responded it was 'too late, the application had already been processed'. Absolutely disgusting & shouldn't be allowed to trade. £100 for a service that will never be used, JUST A SCAM. Google should stop thinking about the profits from advertising & think about the impact on customers/ general public when everyone clearly believed this was part of DVLA & it's not!

Total scam! I can't find a way to get in touch with this company. People have posted about sending emails to them, but I couldnt find their contact details anywhere....however, if u go on their site and start an application you have a 'contact us' option at the bottom of the page

SCAM. Provides the same service as DVLA but at very inflated fees. THEY COULD USE THE SENSITIVE INFORMATION PROVIDED FOR ILLEGITIMATE PURPOSES. A REAL SHAME GOOGLE SHOWS THIS LINK AT THE TOP OF A SEARCH.

this is a advertising scam. A clever advertising trick for tired people. a legal scam thats very frustrating. scroll down and you'll actually find the proper DVLA for £14. not £94.

Shocking excuse of a company. I was so lucky and realised last minute they aren't the DVLA! Go direct to THE DVLA website to order your licence!

Same as everyone else, fooled in to thinking this was DVLA paid £80 and realised when my bank notified me of a future charge. I rang the bank and asked them to cancel the transaction, emails offering £20 and £30 and I am still saying No cancel it, I emailed within 15 mins of making the error and they said it had already been processed!! I wont give up, there are no contact numbers, just emails, total scam. Never fooled normally by this but unfortunately they got me. Devastated. I just hope they cancel and confirm.

Tricked my under 18 child into giving all their personal information to this scam website.

I'm disgusted this can be put at the top of Google searches for getting DVLA services.

I had to renew my driving license as I am over 70. The DVLA provided the exact government website, but I stupidly used google to get there quickly (idiot).

Answered all the questions and got to the last page where I filled in my credit card details, but before I hit the payment button I saw there was a fee of £80, which seemed ridiculous. Then I read the very small print and saw I was using an agent and not directly using the DVLA website. The agents fee was £80 and the government charge was nil. I closed the page without authorising the payment and did the whole thing again on the real DVLA website at nil cost.

Later I got a call from my credit card provider querying possible fraud on an un-authorised request for £80. Both credit cards on that account had to be cancelled for security purposes and that is going to be a real pain for several days until replacements arrive.

IT WAS MY OWN FAULT FOR GOOGLING THE SITE.

Nevertheless these people are perpetrating a scam and in my case attempting to steal £80. Shame on them.

As others have said: Scam, copycat site, 0 stars. You CAN get a full refund but you have to dig your heels in and knock-back several offers of partial refunds and deal with their general timewasting. You need to leave them with no doubt that you are prepared to take them to the Small Claims Court as well as file a claim for a GDPR breach. They persistently refused to confirm their registered name and address, even when I sent them the address from one of their websites to confirm, so I also threatened them with the police (that probably helped). Basically if they smell legal action they eventually fold but be prepared for a lengthy exchange of emails. Ignore anything they say about T&Cs or "final" offers. There used to be other reviews saying similar but they have mysteriously disappeared.

Absolutely disgusting to be advertising so strongly on google when someone searches to renew driving license. Clicked in error as actually searched the dvla website so didn’t realise was not the gov site and was asked all the right ‘personal’ questions. Charged £94 for something I was expecting to pay £14. Fraudulent and so extremely misleading. I realised in a couple of minutes once I had a text from the bank confirming the debit and emailed to cancel and also replied to the confirmation email. Conveniently they replied the next day saying it had already been processed. Several emails later and they are offering £30 refund! Opening a chargeback claim with the bank. Shocking that they are allowed to operate. DO NOT USE, preying on people’s trust!

I actually feel very sorry for you also, as I’m sure you have many many complaints regarding your service and how misleading it is to the consumers. This is morally wrong how you operate as a business. As I have been advised by ( European consumer center) you are in breach of the contract not declaring the full total at the end of the application before payment is made, giving the consumer the right at that point to change their mind if required.
They will try offer £20 then £30 refund. DONT ACCEPT… ask for full refund.

IT IS FREE TO CHANGE YOUR ADDRESS on your licence on the government website. This scam website vehicleonlineservices requested payment, which fortunately I didn't proceed with.

I've not knowingly been scammed before and, on auto-pilot, I clicked on the website 'vehicles online services' to change my address. Having entered sensitive data, it was only when the payment page did not state the cost of replacement, but asked for card number, etc., that I was suspicious enough to look this up online.
I don't understand how this can be legal and why the government doesn't take this scam website down. Some have said that it's barely legal, but surely given the considerable losses incurred by so many so frequently, it should not be allowed.

SCAM stay away....i'm usually so careful but this site really made me think i was on the official DVLA site! Angry with myself but i will fight to get my money returned.
