Scam - deceived my under 18 year daughter

As per all the other 1* reviews, my daughter got scammed for paying £114 - made up of the £80 for their service and £34 for the provisional licence. This is a free government service (with £34 for the actual provisional driving licence).

The scam website is: vehicleonlineservices.co.uk

They operate under the company:
‘Apply Online Limited’. If you search for this information - you will find 2 Directors listed and their personal addresses.

You have 14 days to request a full refund under the Distance Selling Regulations. You need to cite that you were misled and that you do not require the services (they label this as a year subscription). You need to request a full refund (if they haven’t yet processed your application), or the service fee (if they have processed it - you can check this, see below.

Do not accept a partial refund of £20 (if you do, you prevent further action to be taken) - the fact remains that the service they offer is in fact copying your personal data and filling out the Government website.

The official government website for applying for licences is:

gov.uk - apply-first-provisional-driving-licence

You can track the scam application through this official government link (to check they have actually undertaken that step):

gov.uk - track-your-driving-licence-application

You will also need to ask for a Subject Access Request (dating your request) - requesting them for a record of the data they hold on you. You also need to ask them to delete all records of you. They have 28 days to respond. If they don’t - you escalate to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).

Avoid like the plague

As everyone else says, total scam, maybe even fraud. They ask for so many personal details, which unwitting teen applying for provisional licence didn't realise was a scam until too late. One devastated daughter, put-off online anything for a long time! Requested refund and cancellation, no response or driving licence from the company.
Have reported to bank who are investigating possible fraud.

Scam

Scam - Whilst strictly speaking not technically illegal, totally immoral. Making money from the elderly, less advantaged or just careless people when it's simple and easy to do it via the government website should be banned.
What's worse is that they now have harvested sensitive personal information and they do not provide any way to contact them to purge this from there records. There's a ICO request in the post to you.

Do not use this company a total scam

Do not use this company a total scam. I googled dvla renew licence and this company came up. Charged me £94 to renew my licence which should have cost £14 with dvla. Total scam company I tried to cancel application 7 minutes after applying when I realised my error! But as the company is totally automated the application had already been processed to dvla! So they don't even check your application properly.
DO NOT USE PLEASE DON'T BE SCAMMED LIKE ME!! ZERO STARS

TAKE CARE NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY

When renewing Your 70's driving licence ensure you are on the genuine DVLA web page. I assumed I was on their page and unfortunately they are a company based in Estonia and charge £80. when it is FREE. This is not for the licence but for a service, What service could you possibly require? There is no telephone number and the so called Customer service team are contactable by email only, replying as and when it suits. The company will not give you a full refund however they do offer a £20 refund.

Pretty much a scam

Pretty much a scam. I tried cancel within 1 minute of applying and they told me it was too late because it had already been processed.
They also state that you can contact them via text or phone. That is a lie, they have no contact phone number you can use.
Just use the Government website - this is absolute rubbish. Yes you get the license, but they take your money and provide zero service and their terms are a lie.

Scam. BEWARE!

Scam.
Designed to look like the DVLA site, fooling people into surrendering personal data.
Also refusing to refund despite my request to cancel.
Multiple emails from different names all ignoring everyone point and question asked.
Have requested numerous times the names of directors each time ignored.
I have quoted lines from their own T’s & C’s stating my right to cancel, each time ignored.
BEWARE.

This happened to me today

This happened to me today! I am an educated very busy working mum who can not afford to unwittingly pay £90! When I type in a government website i expect to be able to get onto it with ease! I have had a very stressful day worrying about my personal information! I have emailed them twice but have not heard back with any reassurance!

This site is not a scam!

This site is a thirty part service provider. Although they don’t exactly advertise it, it can be found on the website that it is no affiliation with the DVLA. Yes they charge around £90 but that is for admin fees again which can be found on the site. Stop giving a site bad reviews because you don’t understand the concept. Test they appear at the top of Google but that is because they pay to be there. It’s is a business strategy.

Stop blaming them for your stupidity!

SCAM

SCAM! Very worrying that a website is allowed to get away with basically impersonating a government website and in doing so obtains all of your personal information.

I also almost got scammed by these ********

I also almost got scammed by this website. Was only when my bank asked to confirm £94 for my licence renewal that I realised it was a scam. That would be OK as they didn't take any money but now the scammers have my passport details, NI number, mother's maiden name, address, phone number. I've take out CIFAS protection (£25 / 2years) to try to protect against identify theft.

DO NOT USE THIS SITE

DO NOT USE THIS SITE
Use the official government site.

This site appears above the actual government site to try and trick people into using it and giving their sensitive details to them. I could have sworn I was on the DVLA site directly transacting with them, when in fact I was on a third party service provider. I am sure but can not verify but when I was undergoing the transaction I was not shown the real costs nor warned. however when I resisted the site the next day, suddenly I see a number of disclaimers and information. I suspect they manipulate the landing pages that can be seen by users.

DO NOT USE THIS SITE
Use the official government site (cannot post a link here - but ensure it is the official site).

This site appears above the actual government site to try and trick people into using it and giving their sensitive details to them. Fortunately, I only completed the first page before feeling like something wasn't quite right. Looks like others weren't so lucky.

This company entraps people providing a…

This company entraps people providing a bogus service in that you do not need to pay £80 if you are in the DVLA website. They catch people by paying google to sit above the DVLA search. Make sure you put in the full address given on your document with all the slashes. That is how the catch you. This Company then have all your unique data exposing yourself potentially to identity fraud. I have taken this to my MP.

Top result on google but it's a SCAM

Top result on google but it's a total scam! I got to the checkout page for a replacement drivers license but it was asking for £100 not £20! They do nothing for this service, just a massive waste of time and some people will be unfortunate enough to fall for it.
