I dont recommend

I dont recommend. I felt cheated. The clerk issued longer period than i asked, I did not check all details and they did not want to return the money. I explained them it was not car returned earlier -we would not order for longer becuase next day we had a flight back, but still they did not want to return money for days not used. Not fair at all. And they were angry that I asked for proper settlement

Cheap but avoid due to hidden charges

At collection in the middle of the day the office was closed. We waited around 30 mins for someone to show up.
At the end of the rental someone checked our car and there were no issues, so we were told we could leave. However, I noticed the following week that I’d been charged €150 with no communication or explanation. Upon investigation they said they were charging for a scratch that had mysteriously been found, even though it was not there when we checked the car back in. It has been impossible to get a refund.
Also the guy that moves their cars around is really rude.

Fraud service

We hired a car from their Pescara location. The car was damaged & dirty and had no petrol but unfortunately as we had arrived late in the evening & had to get to our destination we were not able to address this problem. We returned the car and we were charged 25 euros for cleaning. We addressed our disappointment as we did not leave the car in a mess as it was in poor state already. They tried to provide photos of the interior but they were not of our car that we rented . The are committing fraud and sending fake photos of other cars pretending to be the car we hired. Absolutely disgusting behaviour and unacceptable. Do not use this company

We hired a car with Visggiare that had…

We hired a car with Viaggiare that had no end of damages, one bar of fuel, dirty inside with cigarette ends left in the car and stinking of cigarette smoke. When we returned the car and after returning back to UK, Viaggiare then charged us for cleaning the car. They provided interior photos of a random car that was not the car we had hired! Not even the same colour interior! We are four mature ladies with some integrity and standards - Viaggiare falsely took money to clean up their disgusting quality of cars! Car cleaning at our expense! Absolute con men and wouldn’t recommend them! Dishonest!

Do not rent a car from this company.
On 10 March, I booked a car through Stressfreecarrental website, paid for it, and received a confirmation for an Opel Corsa. Afterwards, I was redirected to a local provider (Viaggiare Rent), which had happened to me before, so I didn’t worry.

My flight landed on the night of 14 March, and a Viaggiare Rent representative delivered the car. The vehicle was old and not very clean, but since I was travelling alone, I didn’t make an issue of it. They also charged a deposit of around €1,000 to my credit card, which they said would be refunded within 20 days.

The next day, a friend told me that the car I received — a Ford Transit Tourneo Courier — is classified as a commercial vehicle, meaning it has different speed limits. If I wasn’t careful, I could easily get speeding fines. I immediately contacted the company, but due to the Ramadan holiday in Turkey they said they had no other cars available, and the remaining vehicles were also in the same category.

When I contacted StressFreeCarRental, they first told me I needed to resolve the issue with the local provider. I explained that I couldn’t. They asked for photos of the car and registration, but did nothing else.

I returned the car to Viaggiare Rent on 25 March, and since then I have been trying to get my deposit back. They keep saying they will refund it, but nothing happens.

18/05/2026 Recent Update:
They issued my refund but deducted almost 300 euros, claiming it was due to delivering the car outside their working hours and a scratch on the fender. They did not record the existing damages on the car, yet they sent me photos taken during the handover and the return. They insist there is a scratch, but to me it looks more like a stain. They refuse to refund the full amount and advised me to contact StressFreeCarRental, which I have already done. I have also taken legal action and filed a case in court.

Rude staff, wrong car

Hired via discovercars and Skyscanner a skoda kamiq auto or similar intermediate. On arrival told no auto available and offered either cancel booking or take a Mahindra manual by very rude staff. Worst hire experience ever, and they had other cars parked in the lot, c3 for example.

Robbed

Unfortunately, even though I had several different ways to pay, these companies always seem to find a way to take your money. I paid online, but I wasn't able to actually rent the car because they claimed my card didn't work. Even though we had four other cards available to use, they were so difficult about their policies that I felt set up to fail.

I asked for even a partial refund, but I received nothing. I also wrote 3 emails, and no one ever came back to me.
I never used any of the services, yet I paid for everything in full and had to rent from a different company for an additional 250 euros.

Better avoid this company

Better avoid this company. They are completely dishonest!
The pickup time was 21:00.
I was outside the airport at 20:50 and called them at 20:55.
They said they would send someone.
At 21:20 we and other customers were still waiting outside the airport. They were very late.
They gave us the car in the dark. I asked for photos of the car condition to be sent to me. They said they don't have photos, advising that in the morning we may take (if we want) pictures. The next morning I took pictures of some of the scratches that I could find. When I returned the car, they found a scratch that I did not have photo of, and charged me. They insisted that I am to be held responsible of the photos, not them. I showed them 7-8 photos of other scratches found, but they didnt care, as long as they could find an additional scratch that I had no picture of. They charged me 163.99 EUR for a scratch I didn't do.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND

I rented a car in Bergamo in August 2025. In April 2026, they charged 85.40 euros to my card simply because, according to their records, I hadn't paid 1.72 and 0.64 euros for the road. This is called -"NL_V_SPESE AMMINISTRATIVE PER VERBALI / ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENCES"!!! And the road fine will have to be paid separately when the paperwork arrives. In fact, this is called fraud and theft!!! Beware of these scammers; I definitely don't recommend them.

"A Nightmare Experience - Predatory Practices!"

Avoid Viaggiare Rent at Bergamo. They gave me a filthy car so I couldn't even check for scratches. The fuel policy is a joke (3/4 tank), making it impossible to refill accurately.

But the worst part: I arrived at the booth on time, but it was empty. The manager finally showed up, ignored the queue, and then charged me a €30 late fee for being ONE MINUTE LATE (18:30 instead of 18:29).

My 5-day rental was €57, and they charged €30 for 1 minute! They also refused to give me a fiscal receipt. This is a tourist trap. Stay away!

Car broke down on the second day

Car broke down on the second day, called the breakdown company as instructed but now the want me to pay the breakdown charge or €375 ! Don’t understand why I have to pay, No apologies for the inconvenience just an extra charge.
Now being threatened that they will just take the money from my card. Nice people to do business with

Don't bother if you need an automatic car

Warning!!! Do not rent here if you need an automatic car. They DO NOT HONOUR reservations of automatic cars, plain and simple. I had a valid booking and arrived on time (20 December 2025). I was told that they only had manual cars available. I was left with no choice but to arrange a last-minute rental with a different company (Hertz).

My reservation with Viaggiare cost EUR 165 but I ended up paying EUR 650 instead, through no fault of my own. I have rented cars in Europe for several years and this is the first time a valid reservation has not been honoured. Viaggiare was happy to leave me stranded and offered no assistance whatsoever.

When I made a complaint, Viaggiare did not apologise or offer any compensation. My impression is that they simply do not care that I was forced to spend a lot of extra money to get out of a terrible situation that they put me in.

All they do is quote their T&Cs at you: “In the event of absolute unavailability to assign a vehicle, or in the event of the Customer's refusal to accept a vehicle other than the booked category, the Lessor's sole responsibility will be to refund the amount paid by the Customer for the rental of the vehicle up to that point.”

Offsite location obviously not as…

Offsite location obviously not as convenient as rental companies at the airport itself, but prices were very reasonable (January 2026), car was new and staff were efficient and helpful. Would definitely use again.
