3Dsimo 

We recently purchased the 3D Simo Pen for my 9 year old son. Looking at the available pens in the market we chose the 3D Simo because it offered not only the quality we were looking for but the ability to cut foam and wood burn as well. The Maker community on youtube had great things to say about the 3D simo and now my son, having owned it for about a month, gives the device high praise. The set up was easy and he was making 3D shapes and cutting foam into model parts within minutes. While there are less expensive pens on the market I doubt any would offer the versatility and quality results we have witnessed so far.

The only feedback I can think of is that some of the pieces are to large or small. I’m not sure if this is the printers fault or not. This was the 3D simo kit pen.

Pros: Versatile, small form factor, comfortable and easy to hold and use. Works with (some) flexible filament, but does not have a temp setting for it. Lots of accessory options make it a very useful tool. Great customer service and fast shipping times from Europe to the US.

Cons: Build quality needs refinement--feels a little cheap. Tip accessories are extremely hard to install/remove. Needs a dedicated flex filament setting. Polishing tip does not get hot enough to be effective.

This product is amazing, fun, and easy to use. This is great for anyone who wants to dive into any kind of DIY and you won't regret buying one!

I receive the 3dsimo kit, and its easy to assemble. Some parts dont fit perfectly, because of the the bad printing.
I make some adjustments with a sharp knife and now everything is ok.
I download the other pen tip, its better than the original, but not perfect….
The pen is bulky for small hands, and a little heavy…
Ok, i now its a kit and we must make it perfect…

In this field its a innovative product, and i like it, but not for heavy work

3dsimo deliver a nice product :-)
I ordered the diy 3dsimo pen and it had a bad motor, but 3dsimo was nice to send a new one free of charge.
A nice upgrade for the diy 3d simo pen would be a cover for the arduino, so you dont accidentally touch the arduinos pins.

Awesome product. I researched before buying and chose 3dismo. Absolutely no regrets. I recommend this product for anyone interested in a 3d drawing tool but it is fantastic for foam cutting too.! A great addition to my artist's tool kit.

There was a broken part. However, 3D simo sent us a free shipping coupon. The service of 3D simo is very satisfactory. However, there is something missing about the product. Because it is very difficult to cut a filament with a filament cutter. I don't know if mine is a bad product because I only have one tool. The product will be very satisfied to solve this problem.

amazing product . everything is perfect except how mine came with a broken burning attachment. but after contacting the company and a bit of waiting they offered to send a replacement. amazing products from this company hands down. also the soldering iron on this is the best ive used so far

I recently bought the 3D Simo Mini 2 as I was looking for a functional and multi-purpose tool for tinkering with. I am pleased to say that I am happy with my purchase and that I am glad I picked this pen over other possible options for me. My only complaint would be that the retraction isn’t very good and the filament can sometimes run out of the pen after you put some filament down, but that could also be the fault of the filament. However, I love the use of the app and it makes everything very convenient. Plus, the pen itself has a nice LED-screen and very simple button design with fairly clear instructions (but you can just look at YouTube). It has a very nice, comfortable feel to it, and the interchanging tips are all easy to change. It takes just a minute to change tips, and is very convenient. I would highly recommend.

The 3DsimoMini2 is the best pen and first pen I have ever owned... and it is great! I am 9 years old and received the 3DsimoMini2 for a birthday gift. I love it! My favorite attachment is 3D drawing because I can create any shape I want out of a variety of types of filaments. The pen is easy to use and I love how I can connect to an app to control the exact temperature. Thanks for making such a great product!

It's a neat pen with many options to choose from I love using it to make all sorts of designs and models. I gave it 4stars for a few reasons, 1. On my first day of using the filement nozzle got clogged in such a way that it would not shoot out any filament (although I would say it would mostly be on my end) even so I sent them an email and got a reply next day so I'll give them a plus on that one.
2. I bought the 3dsimo mini2 with the idea in mind that it came with this cool app on your phone that let's you control every aspect of the pen including temperature to speed etc. Just to find out that the app is for the 1st mini which they do not have. Yes the mini 2 is smarter in the sense that the software that comes with it automatically recognizes what attachment you are using but again it would be nice to have the options of speed variation as well as temperature control.
3. Since I'm waiting for my replacement filament tip I decided to try out the wood burning tip yesterday just to find out it worked for 10 minutes and now won't work at all so I'm pretty disappointed in that. But don't let that stop you from buying this neat pen it has a variation of tools which is always good the wood burner could be just a manufacturer error ( I mean we are not perfect and neither are machines, they have every right to mess up just like we do) so I will contact them in the hope of getting this issue resolved. All in all I would buy this pen again as well as recommend it to anyone looking for a 3d pen. Oh almost forgot one really nice feature is the fact that nothing last forever eventually the filament tip will burn out with use so I find it very convenient that instead of having to buy a whole new pen like you would with cheaper brand models you can just buy a replacement tip and keep using it. This was my first 3d pen and I must say it is fantastic. At first I was a bit difficult but with some time I took my hand. Comfortable and light, easy to use and to recharge with the filament. I recommend it to everyone

For my son's 13th birthday we purchased the kit and the end of the year bundle. We received it early and that was great but immediately when he started to put it together two parts would not fit together. My husband spent two hours trying to help our disappointed son and in the process, some plastic parts broke just by adding minimal amounts of pressure. Later he made it work but within one hour of use, it would not continue to heat up anymore. We hope this was just a manufacturing error and would like to receive another 3DSimo kit that will be put together in the stated "15-30 minutes."

Update: David was kind, but whoever is in charge of the customer service sent a rude email claiming that it was my problem it broke. I checked the manual and it has a 12-month warranty. By law, 3DSimo should send me replacement pieces. This is an unacceptable experience.

We searched 3d pen for my 9-year old son and stopped at 3D Simo. Our order we got in promised time and it was OK. It was not difficult to understand understood how does it work. The one moment was not clear - the extrusion tip was different then we have seen in video and in manual. So we could not understand is it OK or not. In result we tried to begin work and 3D Simo worked good. The son tried to work with 3D pen- it is OK, foam cutter function - is excellent, wood burning - is OK, but the temperature could be higher, soldering- is very good.
One recommendation - to my mind the 3d pen extrusion tip could be more longer, it would be more convenient for working with it. Generally I`m satisfied with my purchase. It is good tool!

I got the 3Dsimo Mini 2 from my friend. I'm super satisfied and the pen does exactly what I expected. The only thing I would have liked is a manual speed setting. Or have I just not figured out how to use this feature? In any case, the product convinced me!
An attachment was broken but on request we immediately got a spare part. Great service and very friendly staff.

The 3DSimo company and the kit that comes with it are very nice. The pen came as advertised and came with lots of filament to start with and a few books for instruction and ideas. The company is also very good and I have had no problems with them. They send very limited emails which is very nice. The only problem is they are centered in Eastern Europe, so they're English is a little bad; it looks like they use Google Translate. However they do get their point across, so it is only a minor issue. Overall, the product and company are very good.

the main issue i had getting the tech support i needed, i tried to email them and didnt get any responde for 2 weeks, then i called the merchant david and emailed him, and at that point thing start to work more smoothly, the support team contact me, and helped me with every thing i needed

After emailing multiple times and not hearing back from the company for almost 3 months, I posted my negative experience on this site last weekend. Within an hour David from the company contacted me and offered me a replacement unit. I emailed him back, and... you guessed it! Haven't heard back from him since. It's been a week, and I haven't received a replacement or heard from him again.2

Don't waste your time, folks.
