Really easy to use and find a car that fit my requirements. Was able to test drive a few cars and was happy with the service received. There was a really long wait for each part of the service though... See more

Post My experience with Big Motoring World has been extremely poor. I was without a car for months, the vehicle suffered repeated breakdowns, there were long delays and poor communication, and I did not receive a proper resolution despite giving Big Motoring World several chances to put things right. Court appears to be the next option Based on my experience, I would not recommend Big Motoring World.

We were sold a car which we did not initially see had a chip on the windscreen. We were assured that if there was anything wrong then the after sales team would sort it out ....no problem....
How wrong !! They lie! Because we didn't spot it, even though it was clearly there on purchase, it is now our problem. Didn't want to know about it saying it was cosmetic.
My other daughter needs a car of similar price so all I can say is their loss ...shall not be getting it from here.
Other buyers ...beware.

Clearly do not care about customer experience or doing the right thing, seem institutionally set up to churn cars through quickly without making sure they are suitable for use.
On EVs, don't do a full battery health check unless you put down a deposit. Was told I would get the deposit back if the battery was not at a minimum expected level, but then sales manager on the phone said this wasn't the case and inferred I was a liar for claiming another salesperson told me this...
I was relatively committed to dropping >£25k on a car, but they could not engage with me properly on the terms of this purchase. Been waiting for a call back, first one I got was from someone passing on a message for the sales person I had been speaking to, just saying "computer says no" and was unable to explain any more or engage in a conversation about purchase conditions. I chased up and was just left on hold for ages.
Three days later, still waiting for the call back I've been promised and chased up on!
Wasted my time on site and on the phone multiple times, staff all act like they don't want to be there. Reading other reviews, probably dodged a bullet as cars seem patched together to get them sold and then getting any after sales support appears hopeless.
Small caveat - a lad in Leeds was good on the phone.

Friendly staff, happy with our purchase but the process took over 3 hours which is horrendous on a hot day.
You sit and wait around for so many different departments to sort stuff rather than one person. It took an hour to wait and go for a test drive and then over two hours to sign paperwork/get keys etc.

We had a really positive experience at Big Motoring World. Everyone was very welcoming and made us feel comfortable while we looked around and explored our options.
A special thank you to Andres, who was incredibly patient and informative throughout the whole process. He helped us test out several cars, including the Ford Fiesta, Fiat 500 and Mini Cooper, and took the time to answer all our questions without making us feel rushed or pressured.
Andres made the experience of looking for a car easy and enjoyable. We really appreciated his knowledge, patience and friendly approach. Highly recommend Big Motoring World, and especially Andres, for anyone looking for a great car-buying experience!

Test drove the vehicle I purchased on 1st August, noticed the brakes squealed. Was also told the vehicle had been serviced and was even given proof of this.
Day of collection, everything seems above board then a couple days later once I return to work and have to drive any bit of distance, thebrakes are squealing again.
Contact after sales, wait almost a week for a reply to be told they won't be looking to assist until I've had a free brake test carried out. So off to Kwik fit I go for a free brake test, that comes back and confirms rear discs and pads are excessively worn causing the squeal. Contact Big Motoring world again by responding to the email chain so that I have everything documented, attached the report confirming the excessive wear on rear brakes and currently awaiting a reply (which I expect won't be quick based on hte last response time). In the mean time of all this, the service indicator has popped up on the dash to tell me the vehicle is due a service in 800 miles....?
Branch were quick enough to sell me a car with promises that any issues would be handled with no question asked, but the reality is aftersales is shocking and getting any kind of support is hard work. Doesn't fill me with any hope that their warranty is even worth the paper it's written on.
Add this to the fact that I part ex'd my previous vehicle and they assured me the outstanding finance would be settled within the week, yet 2 weeks later still not paid off? They currently have my old car, not paid a penny for it and I'm out of pocket since another direct debit payment has been taken.
Overall experience on the day was fine, sales staff great, accommodating, friendly etc. Completely let down by the aftersales and information that completely contradicts what I was told by sales staff on day of purchase.

Lee and his manager were so helpful. They explained things into details and make us very comfortable in making a good choice. We were made to see Big motoring world as a good place to buy cars. We had a very good experience.

Extremely disappointing experience with Big Motoring World — AVOID!
One of the worst car-buying and after-sales experiences I have ever had. I purchased a vehicle from Big Motoring World and, within one day, discovered a serious fault with the hybrid battery. I had to take the car for diagnostics myself after just one day of ownership — something that should never have happened with a vehicle sold by a professional dealership.
What made the situation even worse was the after-sales experience. I repeatedly contacted the rejection team and specifically dealt with Verity, the manager, who did not even bother to call me back despite numerous calls and attempts to resolve the matter.
Big Motoring World also failed to properly acknowledge or accept that the vehicle had been sold with a fault. I was extremely concerned that I had been put in a position where my family of four was potentially at risk because of a faulty vehicle.
In the end, I had no choice but to involve the finance company to help me return the vehicle and resolve the situation.
The amount of stress, time and hassle this has caused has been completely unacceptable. Buying a car should give you peace of mind, not leave you chasing managers, arranging diagnostics and involving the finance company just to get a serious issue resolved.
I would not recommend Big Motoring World to anyone considering buying a vehicle. My experience with both the sales and after-sales service has been dreadful. AVOID and save yourself the stress and hassle!!

Staff was very welcoming and nice but spent too much time pushing warranties and finance plans even though I made it clear I wanted to buy the car outright without extras. Ended up spending 2 hours and 37 minutes, most of it waiting. Same process can be done in 15 minutes at a dealership.

I am well happy with the service they provide they were very experienced with the information that I asked about the cars I wanted to look at. I came away with a Fiat 500X very pleased with my Choice well worth the visit put free drinks while you having to wait for all the paperwork to be sorted.

Do not under any circumstances use this awful company.
My son had saved up his hard earned cash to buy the car of his dreams so he found this one at Big Motoring World in Sheffield 85 miles away, but he was excited to book a viewing and travel to see it.
When we got there we were met with a sales man who did not make us feel valued as a customer at all.
He seemed to just read off a script the things he was supposed to say.
When we were shown the car, it wasn't even cleaned!!!
It had scuff marks on the alloys, on the body and a huge scrape under the front bumper.
We asked if these could be rectified as he was looking to spend over £24,000 on this car. They wouldn't do anything to the car.
Reluctantly he purchased the car as they are rare, they wouldn't give an inch with the price for the damage.
He asked if the car could at least be washed before he purchased it.
It was taken to be washed, when we finally had the keys and were walked to the car, we noticed the alloy had been chemically burned during the wash. This damage was not there before.
After 5 hours of pulling teeth, we were livid.
We asked them to reimburse him the price to get the wheel refurbished at home. They wouldn't give an inch again. They offered to give him a full refund and walk away carless or bring it back to have them do the wheel, 190 mile round trip!!
We fought for a solution and in the end they called the manager over who very reluctantly after a lot of cross words offered him £100 as a good will gesture.
We felt so undervalued and walked away so deflated and extremely irritated.
Never again would I set foot in that place.
A week later we were back in Sheffield to view a car for my partner at CarGurus, WOW, what a difference. They made us feel very valued as customers and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.
We walked away from there with huge smiles on our faces with a lovely new car.

Very disappointing experience with the extended warranty sold by Big Motoring World.
When I purchased my Mercedes from Big Motoring World, I paid approximately £1,800 for a 3-year extended warranty.
At the point of sale, the warranty was presented to me as very comprehensive protection. My clear recollection is that I was told it provided effectively “bumper-to-bumper” cover and that if the failure of one component caused damage to associated components, those repairs would also be covered.
These assurances were an important reason why I agreed to spend £1,800 on the warranty.
Unfortunately, when I actually needed to make a claim, my experience was completely different.
My Mercedes developed an AdBlue system fault. The diagnostic report specifically states:
“Tested AdBlue injector and found it to be leaking.”
The report then identified crystallisation affecting other components following the AdBlue leak.
My warranty claim was declined because the policy apparently excludes crystallisation build-up and consequential damage.
However, the rejection did not explain why the leaking AdBlue injector itself was not covered.
This is particularly difficult for me to understand because my Inspect and Repair Plan states:
“All mechanical and electrical parts are included for failure to perform their normal function on the vehicle.”
I submitted a detailed formal complaint on 14 July 2026, specifically asking the warranty provider to identify the exact policy clause excluding the leaking AdBlue injector and to explain the technical basis for declining this part of the claim.
More than four weeks later, I still have no substantive written response.
I have contacted Customer Service several times. I was repeatedly told that my complaint had been passed to the Complaints Department. On 4 August, I was specifically told that I should receive a response within 3–5 days. That timeframe has also passed without a substantive response.
I have now formally contacted Big Motoring World directly, as they sold me this 3-year warranty and it was their staff who explained its benefits to me at the point of sale.
For £1,800, I expected not only meaningful warranty protection but also proper assistance when something actually went wrong.
Based on my experience so far, I cannot recommend purchasing the extended warranty offered with a vehicle from Big Motoring World.
I am giving Big Motoring World the opportunity to investigate this matter and assist in resolving it.
I will update this review publicly with the outcome — whether the matter is resolved or not.

From the outset, I need to explain, I really, really dislike buying a replacement car. Always have. The site in Peterborough is very smart and modern. Getting in is a bit of a challenge, walking through a high wire fenced tunnel! Ever person I had to speak to, I think it was 4, all very pleasant, and yes I did sign a deal.

I was apprehensive about going to buy a car and the process that involves. Honestly, I neededn’t have been. Big Motoring World is a spacious, welcoming, bright place, we were welcomed with a smile, no sales pressure. We were allowed to look at 3 floors worth of cars, take our time, do it at our own pace. When I got a bit overwhelmed, free milkshakes were available to get my sugar levels up again:) Once we decided, we were paired with Brooke, a lovely sales advisor, who was patient, explained everything clearly, accompanied us on a test drive and simply told us about everything that was on offer without pushing us to choose anything we didn’t want to. From the moment we arrived till the moment we drove away in out lovely car, we felt relaxed. The processes and handovers between staff work seamlessly. Well done Big Motoring World:)

The sales staff were rude one used the F word in front of me and my wife I spent 3 1/2 hours on day 1 mostly waiting day 2 I spent 2 1/2 hours the wrong car was presented to me at handover I would have left on day 1 if I didn't really love the car.

This experience does not even warrant a 1-star review, but unfortunately that was the lowest rating available.
I have just had what I can only describe as one of the most disappointing car-buying experiences I have ever encountered. I paid £99 to reserve a Cupra Born, fully intending to purchase the vehicle and drive it away that same day.
Before travelling to the dealership, I specifically asked the sales team if they could kindly make sure the vehicle could be fully charged, as I had a long journey planned immediately afterwards. I was assured this would be possible.
Upon arrival, however, none of the staff appeared to have any knowledge of the reservation. After waiting around 10–15 minutes, a sales representative eventually located the vehicle and brought it around for us to inspect.
Unfortunately, the vehicle was in an extremely poor condition. It had clearly not been cleaned or prepared prior to our arrival, despite us having specifically arranged to view and potentially purchase it. We also discovered several scratches that had not been disclosed in the online listing.
We were then told that we would have to wait approximately 30 minutes to test drive the vehicle, despite having informed the sales representative three days earlier that we would like to test drive it. We were instead offered an “unofficial” test drive around a nearby car park to “save time”, which was far from the experience I expected when purchasing a vehicle from a professional dealership.
Despite all of this, we took some time to consider the situation and decided to proceed with the purchase due to the vehicle’s competitive price and low mileage.
After completing several minutes of paperwork, we reached the payment stage. We had planned to pay partly by credit card and partly in cash. At this point, we were informed that payment by credit card was not possible — despite me having specifically asked about this when reserving the vehicle three days earlier and being told that it would be accepted.
This was ultimately the final straw, and we decided not to proceed with the purchase.
What makes the experience even more frustrating is that we have now wasted the fuel and time travelling approximately 240 miles on a round trip, based entirely on the information and assurances provided to us by the sales team beforehand. Had we been given accurate information from the outset, this unnecessary journey could have been avoided.
Overall, the entire experience was extremely disappointing. At no point did we feel valued as customers; instead, we were left with the impression that we were simply another transaction.
For a company selling vehicles at this level, I expected a much more professional, organised and customer-focused experience.
I would not recommend this branch to anyone based on my experience.
